Club ownership | Senior management team talk

I don't understand how Jim, Berrarda whoever can watch this PSG team and not aspire the same for us.

433. Hard working attackers. Midfielders with actual technical quality and can carry the ball forward. Defenders with composure.
Nothing to do with formation, everything to do with having far better players all over the pitch.

Having by far the highest wages bill helps too.

Helped by Jim, Berrada and Co signing off on buying their rejects for £50m.

Get Luis Campos in at all costs. This is the real best in class DOF. Not the inexperience Wilcox or Berrada. Or those bicycle and F1 people.

Its taken them 15 years and buying the best players in the world to finally win the Champions League. Let's not pretend it happened over night.

They have a lot of money and have spent a lot of money, that's undeniable. It's just funny that they finally won the CL after 3 of the best players in the world left.

Luis Campos joined them in 2022 to revamp the team away from signing Galaticos.

He just signed a new deal with PSG until 2030. We had a chance to get him 2 years ago, IIRC. That ship has sailed.

Not funny and not a coincidence either.

Its a very good high. But we can put him in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up faster. They have unlimited money, we dont.

You think getting rid of Neymar, Messi and Mbappe was key to them becoming a better team? Maybe true, curious to know your thoughts on why? I'd have thought even a somewhat disinterested Messi would be a plus for any team, and Mbappe was very good for them. Neymar too.

Their policy now is clearly away from big money signing. Man Utd definitely has the money for this model!

Can some one please explain how come we could have these kind of squads over the years after spending 1.5B? Its insane...wish we spent 50M on a proper DOF like Campos who could have fixed us long time back.

Glazernomics, more than anything else.

Actually both Messi and Neymar were moved on / forced out.

Messi left because it didn’t work he felt the club did not bend to him (they did not want to)

They moved Neymar on due to his injuries

Mbappe is the only one they actually wanted to keep.

Sometimes people say things are facts and they are not.

Leonardo was fired and they went in a new direction.

Massive cope.
o
Ambitiously prudent?

Makes sense, the Glazerite spending of Woodward/Arnold simply doesn't work.

I find it strange clubs like Barca and United, famous for the quality of young player shining through, spending their way to oblivion like
complete idiots whilst oil clubs like psg favour youth.

Hopefully, the likes of us and Barca learn our lesson, however belated, and move on.

Yeah no thanks
I for one am glad that we stuck with the local lad that “gets the club” and proceeded to unscrupulously sack longstanding local employees, cancel charity money and prop up the Glazer’s for another god knows how many years.

Nowhere near the only chance.

True, sell Bruno and we’re back in it.

Not in the champions league, ruthless competition.

Whole lot of nothing, Qatar hopeful of owning United still one day, that's it.

Slow news day for journalists to get clicks from United fans, so this is Wallace attempt.
Ok cheers, I suppose if they really wanted the club they could just throw a shitload of riyals at the feckwits currently in charge.

I think both your post and the one your responding to is putting too much impetus on the players. PSG have a world class manager and someone who has won the UCL before, that is the difference.

It's a situation United cannot resemble given the limitations of the current coach as well as the lack of experience.

If you actually watched them you would know. They were good parts in a crap machine. And they were so lazy too.

Now they have good parts in a well oiled machine and it shows. Miles better now than they were.

Qatar will buy us one day. Its the ultimate cash in for the parasites that run this club.

If that's the case why did they bother spending £600m+ in the last 2 years alone. Could have just done it with any players right?

They rebuilt the side with younger players.

Either way, you need a great manager and great players to churn out the kind of performance they did in the final. It's not 1 or the other.

There is a clip of Luis Enrique trying to get Mbappe to buy into working hard off the ball and pressing. Went in one ear and out the other.

Neymar was great but always injured

Messi was an absolute car crash

Obviously managers need a specific profile of players to perform but spending money under Amorim, Eth, Ole for instance is very different to spending money under a world class manager.

The parallel to that is if you gave Amorim a similar quality of players to Enrique with PSG would he have won Europe's most prestigious competition?

Who knows? With by far the highest wage bill and most spent on players in the last few years I would expect any decent manager to be not too far away.

Quality of players is by far the biggest factor.

The most important condition is to make them promise to implement the PSG football structure here in Man Utd and bringing Luis Campos and Enrique over here. One can dream!

Seriously though, they want 100% ownership so finally we can get rid of Glazers and Ratcliffe. They also promised to clear off all the debts. We can finally be debts free. On top of that, more funds will be available for transfers as they are happy to put in their own money. Last but not least, they have the financial might for new stadium, training facilities and other infrastructure.

What's there not to like?

The whole slavery, indentured servitude, human rights violations, funding terrorist organisations and certain questionable activities that come with being a nation state?

The way football is going it seems like a matter of when, not if. Unfortunately.

It's not when as it has already happened. Which is part of what made everyone throwing themselves at Ratcliffe as part of some high horse morality nonsense so baffling in the first place.

Nothing that Jim Ratcliffe has done since taking over the club is even remotely a surprise to anyone who'd bothered to even slightly educate themselves on Jim Ratcliffe. Even if you hadn't bothered to educate yourself, the fact his plan was to join the Glazers rather than out them should have given people a very big fecking clue. It wasn't just a massive red flag, it was literally waving itself into everyone's face with "this is a terrible idea" written on it in giant letters.

The way everyone clamoured for Ratcliffe still fecking boils my blood because of how mind numbingly and obviously stupid an idea it was. I mean being against the oil money is absolutely a fine stand to take, but that doesn't mean going all in on an even more terrible idea just to make yourself look like a morally superior person.
