Aren't I entitled to my own opinions? What right had you got to say I am a nutter?:D
The thread is about the players skills - not character... if you want to discuss character - start a different thread - now stop destroying this thread.!

Le tiss was brilliant for years and years, ronadlo's done it for a year and a half, i don't need to justify myself to someone who thinks Tim Cahill god.
Le Tiss was good but the standard then and the standard now is different. A player with Le Tiss skills will not succeed in today's Premier League.

and a player with ronaldos skills wouldn't have lasted back then, would have got kicked off the park.

You know about as much about football as the french do about fighting wars.

Sorry, does that mean dribblers like Giggs and Overmars get kicked all over the park last time?

You got to look at reality dude, I know you are a Saints fan, and feel that Le Tissier is one of your top players. But the way you argue your point is very childish.

And don't insult the French like that, there are French people here it is about football discussion not war banter.

You have Beckham and Cahill on your list, case and point.
Beckham was truely phenomenal with his crosses and free-kicks. And the numerous times he scored last minute under tremendous pressure. Cahill single handlely carried Everton to a CL spot, and since he got injured, Everton had slumped without his inspiration. These are truely great players, for not only they perform against all odds, but rally the team ahead.

is it any wonder nobody takes Ockers seriously....deary me:rolleyes:
What on earth are you going on about?

I just said he is nowhere near as good as any of the players on most peoples lists.

Unbelievable as it may seem but many Australians will have Australian player Timmy Cahill in their favourite player lists after what he has done with Everton and especially with the NT at the World Cup. Is there something wrong with that?

;) Not the greatest of all time of course, but that players were all great and did a great job for Austria (1978; Austria 3:2 Germany)

Didn'T see it live of course (I'm too young), but watched it several timer later.

It's debatable whether Cahill is better than his team mate Arteta, let alone a large portion of footballing greats. You can't put him in simply because he apparently carried Everton for a season, that would be like putting Richardson in for his loan spell at West Brom. The list is about the 10 best players you've ever seen, and i could think of 10 i've seen play for Manchester United alone that i would say are better than Cahill.

And i fail to see how Le Tissier wouldn't cope with todays standard of football.

Seedorf never gets a mention in any of these lists which I find strange.
That's because a lot of people here are old enough to have seen some older (and better) legends.

How anyone can forget Hagi, etc, is beyond me. He was around in the early 90s ffs.

Was Tim Cahill's brother locked away in a prison in Singapore or something? Everton would have slipped out of contention for 4th place even had Cahill remained fit. He's a very good player, but by no means a great and not as naturally gifted as Le Tiss who for god knows how many years seemed to fight a one man battle to keep Southampton in the Premiership and of course, he succeeded every single time.

Shocked only a couple have had Matt Le Tissier in their lists.....

On his day was amazing to watch.
Twice a season if you were lucky, he would score an incredible goal to rival any player in the world ever…..the other thirty-odd games he played, he just strolled around looking ugly and a bit fat.
His inconsistency and lack of inspiration no doubt contributed to the fact that despite his talent, he only played a handful of matches for England and never left Southampton, which was never simply down to his loyalty, trust me…..
