I was born in 69, seen Borg, Connors, McEnroe, Becker, Sampras, Cash etc and I think that was the best game I've ever seen. Not a massive tennis fan but my son got me into Wimbledon this time round. Incredible game.

this was played at the highest level with some errors but both players had much more winners then unforced errors. The quality of the striking and the angles of winning shot have not been seen at this stadium ever.

Too many unforced errors by Federer, seen many better than this match. Remember atleast 3 Sampras-Agassi matches which had higher quality of tennis.
Nadal deserved it fully. Federer was playing at his best in the fifth set, that return at 40-30 in final games was unbelievable.

What that boiled down to was that Federer just could not break Nadal's serve. The Spaniard was a rock, and despite having to resort to second serves in some really important games, Federer still couldn't break him.

Gutted for Federer. So close to one of the great sporting comebacks. Such a model professional too. Once again i come away feeling he could/should have beaten Nadal. Really hope he gets back to his best soon. Its been awhile since hes been. Would be nothing like it if he dominates Nadal and Djokovic the next few years.

Outrageous match. Quality was the highest ive ever seen. The way both players strike the ball, the amount of spin is crazy.

Look i know u and i dont agree on much and as much as i want to support the american players neither pete or andre could have got to the shots that nadal did and then create winners from those positions. Yes there were errors and possibly roger could have won this with steadier play early on, but from the 3rd set on this was the highest quality tennis played on this surface.
When a 3 time champion who has been involved in the greatest match ever according to everyone says its the greatest he has ever seen well i think that speaks volumes!
He could not show the same form as he does against others like Roddick because he was up against Nadal. This is like asking why United don't play as well against Chelsea as they do against Newcastle.
