Van Der Sar - Just the one flap today, but otherwise solid. 7

Rafael - Right back is his until Wes is back. 7
Vidic - Utterly dominant last few games. 8
Ferdinand - Good. 7
Evra - Link up with Ronaldo was incisive. 7

Park - Deserves to be starting these big games. Quality player. 7
Fletcher - Doing a one-man impersonation of the Keane-Scholes partnership. 7
Carrick - Some very good passes and pushed forward for the goal. 7
Ronaldo - A bit of an idiot. But some decent moments too. I don't think he likes playing wide right anymore. 6

Berbatov - First half ok, couldn't do much after the sending off. 6
Rooney - LEGEND LEGEND LEGEND 8

Subs:

O Shea - You know...
Giggs - Confusing substitution, because he came on and just stood around - he literally didn't run at all. Couldn't see the logic in that.

First half United played best we've done all season. 2nd half understandably frantic, but brilliant result.

VDS - 7 - Superb save from Dunne at the end, apart from that not much to do.
Rafael - 8 - Thought he looked a bit sluggish but then I saw Robinho sticking out of his pocket.
Rio - 8 - Calm and assured. Looked quite like a camel today.
Vidic - 8 - Rape X2
Evra - 9 - Sex
Ronaldo - 7 - Quiet game, first yellow card I didn't think was a yellow. Second yellow he should have headed it anyway.
Fletcher - 7.3 - Some good interceptions, not really in the game.
Carrick - 8.5 - Sublime
Park - 7.5 - Worked his socks off.
Rooney - 8.1 - Well taken goal, almost scored a great second. When he attempted that last one I had full confidence he would get it in or come very close and he did.
Berbatov - 7.7 - Started well, faded. First touch of a deity.

O'Shea - 7 - It's not a United game without O'Shea. I blame him for Ronaldo's red card.
Giggs - 7.3 - Not much time to make an pimact and just had the job of keeping the ball.
Did someone else come on?

This is based purely off the second half as I missed the first

Van Der Sar 7 - Did what he had to do well. Apparently he flapped a little in the first half?

Rafael 6 - Needed to be helped by Park on more than one occasion
Vidic 7 - Rock at the back
Ferdinand 7 - Vidic
Evra 8 - Christ. Possibly on a bike.

Park 8 - First team spot cemented based off his performances these last two months
Carrick 7 - Good. Solid. Won the ball well
Fletcher 7 - Sensational runs and off the ball movement
Ronaldo 6 - Unlucky to be sent off, slightly petulant.

Rooney 7 - Determined. CHIP!
Berbatov 6.5 - Cool headed, clever passer. Still not Cantona

Giggs 6.5 - Please don't play him up forwards as a lone striker.
O Shea 6.5 - Didn't set anything on fire, cause random combustion, earthquakes. Did his job well for about 2 minutes. At fault for the Ronaldo sending off.

Somewhere in your mind, touching a nerve
VDS - 7: Decent but I get nervous when he comes for crosses among a crowd these days.
Rafael - 7: Apparantly he can't defend, but gave robinho no chance.
Evra - 8: How good is this fella? I really would like to know how much ground he covers in a match.
Rio - 7: Good.
Vidic - 8: An absolute monster.

Fletcher - 7: Another top performance.
Carrick - 8: Controlled everything for us. Class player.
Park - 7: Ran alot, helped the team defend one moment and was attacking the next.
Ronaldo - 5: Did not get in the game. What the feck were you doing for the second yellow?

Rooney - 10(MOM): About time he gave a performance. And what a performance it was.
Berbatov - 8: Brilliant.

Referee, complete and utter spastic, weak, allowed the scummy City fans to run the game. How can you respect that pile of shite. Linesmen were no better.

City fans, scum of the earth.

City, toothless, completely outplayed.

United, superb performance to a man, 10 men against 12 and still vastly superior.

Van Der Sar -7, good and bad

Rafael - 8 offered options going forward and was mostly capable going back, really good display in a high pressure game
Vidic - 9 Fantastic play today, dominated the defence
Ferdinand - 7 hes yet to recover the form of last season
Evra - 8 Excellent play again, bombing down the left, but maybe lunging in too much.

Park - 7 industrious but too easily shoved off the ball
Fletcher - 8 good play in the middle, especially after the sending off
Carrick - 8 similar play to fletch really. few more good passes
Ronaldo - 6 i thought he was poor today even before the sending off.

Berbatov - 7 he played ok today, good passes, had to come off after ronaldo went off because he didnt have the workrate required.
Rooney - 9 man of the match. fecking superhero, i love that lad.

Subs:

O Shea
Giggs - 6 completely worst role for him to play, chasing the ball round up front.

Rafael 6.5 terrific first half, normal 2nd
Vidic 8 :very solid

Park: 7 This guy could run endless
Fletcher 7 Very good understanding with Carrick and controlled the midfield
Carrick : 9 Maybe the best performance I've seen from him
Ronaldo :5 Tried too much with the ball and could have released it quicker

Berbatov: 6 Good when the ball is on his feet as he showcased his amazing technique, what a lazy bastard though
Rooney: 9 ,missed an early chance but he bounced back from it, he worked his socks off and almost scored the goal of the season

VDS 7 one flap but good other than that
Rafael 7 Mature performance, sorry Neville, Carling Cup and FA Cup for you
Rio 8
Vidic 8 Won everything in the air
Evra 7 The usual Evra
Park 7 Yes, he will start our big games
Fletcher 7 Industrious
Carrick 7 A few giveaways but kept possession well and good defensively
Ronaldo 6 Quiet game for his standards
Berbatov 6.5 Some amazing touches and balls, GET INTO THE BOX MORE
Rooney 8 An easy tap in is what he needed for his 100th. Was amazing in his passing and hold up play and his helped in our third was vital. Great stuff.

The first half was the best we have played all year. We wanted it more, we won almost all of the 50\50 balls out there. Goes to show that in big away games we must play positive.

Let Rooney be Rooney
Van Der Sar - dodgy punch aside very good, caught a lot of difficult crosses, good save at the death 7

Rafael - Very good, petulance got him booked but he should never have been called up for the tackle, great going forward 7
Vidic - Immense, made some big headers and solid when darting off the line to intercept passes into feet 8
Ferdinand - Good aside from a couple of dozy moments 7
Evra - Brilliant, fantastic and both ends of the pitch 8

Park - Great work and a bit of threat, he's improved the latter a lot this season 7
Fletcher - Great work defensively though I don't think he was doing much going forward, a bit like the old Fletch 7
Carrick - Bestrode the field like a colossus 9
Ronaldo - Great threat again but the sending off was daft 6

Berbatov - Very good, we are a much better outfit from the back to the edge of the area due to him, he holds the ball so well 7
Rooney - Fantastic, good goal, good shot, and great deal of work done 9

Subs:

O Shea - Came on so Noddle could write something about him 6
Giggs - I was shouting at him to shoot 6

At the moment he's a miles better option than Nani, who is still an impact player from the bench for me. Park is solid and does a lot more going forward than he gets credit for. Rafael probably needed him today as well.

Starting 11

Van Der Sar (7) Protected well by the Defence. However he was Assured in the Air and Alert to any Danger.

Rafael (7) Derby Debut to Remember. Won his Duel with Robinho and looked Comfortable on this Stage.
Vidic (7) Rock Solid. Never got in Trouble. Dominated in the Air and on the Ground.
Ferdinand (7) Cool, Calm and Collected. Intercepted, Tackled cleanly and Snuffed out Danger.
Evra (8) Influential at both Ends. Made the left wing his own. Passionate and Energetic Performance.

Park (7) Tireless. Plenty of Energy and Mobility in his Display. Created chances and Almost got an Assist.
Fletcher (7) In Control. Owned Possession on the Pitch. Defended well and contributed to Attacks.
Carrick (8) Commanded the Midfield. Box to Box performance. Created the goal for Rooney and Always looked on top of the game.
Ronaldo (6) Unlucky. Below his high Standards but showed some Good play and Movement. Should never have gained 2 Yellows.

Rooney (8) Outstanding. MOTM Rose to the Occasion and Won us the Game. Showed the Most Goal Threat from our side.
Berbatov (7) Silky and Smooth. Held Possession well and Orchestrated our Play in the Final Third. Could have been more Effective in front of Goal.

Subs

Giggs (5) Given a tough job up front by himself. Held his Nerve and Defended from the front.
O'Shea (5) Limited time to Impress. Added to the defence and Made some Good Tackles.

Overall (8) Truly fantastic away performance. Made the derby a one sided affair. Dominated Man City in thier own home and never let them get any control in the game. We were not helped by the ineptitude of the officials but we would not be moved even with 10 men. A good days work.

Match Officials (4) Useless, Inept, Inconsistent Refereeing!

He created our first chance with a low cross. Furthermore, his workrate up front caused us to win the ball back on several occasions, leading to dangerous counterattacks. Also, his running creates space for other players who are more creative and dangerous in the final third. For feck sake, every player in the team can't be a flairy, flamboyant technician. Every team needs players who can run after and harry the opposition, mate.

MUFC Champions 2006/2007: Where will the goals com
VDS - Bit of a flap in the first half but good afterwards. Terrific save in the dying moments. 7.

Rafael - Started brilliantly, looks great for the future. Faded a bit and maybe lacked composure as he tired and we came under more pressure. 7.

Rio - Read the game pretty much perfectly, as usual. 8.

Vidic - Reliable as ever. 7.

Evra - Final ball a bit flat a few times early on but grew into the game. Now easily one of the most important members of our team, in the way he supports the play. 8.

Ronaldo - Stupid sending off and a poor game really, never got into it. 5

Carrick - At his best today. Made use of the space he often made for himself, and his first time passing and awareness was excellent. Positionally aware as always too. Probably my favourite United player at the moment, I just love watching him play. 8.5 and Man of the Match

Fletcher - Scrapped but lacked a bit of class. 7

Park - Likewise, gets himself in the positions really well, and fought hard in the run up to the goal, but lacks drive and edge in the final third at times. 7

Berbatov - Once again showed what he brings. His touch was orgasmic, his vision mind blowing. Maybe flagged a bit towards the end and does lack pace, but really brings the best out of Rooney. 8

Rooney - Good movement for the goal, and was a major driving force behind us today. Did well when he had to fill in for Ronnie, unlucky to the end. 8

Subs

O'Shea - O'Shea. n/a
Giggs - don't really know why he played up front with Rooney off the left but nevermind, gave us some energy up there which helped us press them late on. 7

Van Der Sar - 6 - ok.

Rafael - 7 - defended really well and got forward whenever possible.
Vidic - 9 - unbelievably brilliant in the first half, good in the second. Brilliant defender.
Ferdinand - 7 - complimented Vidic well.
Evra - 8 - quality. I thought he was going to get sent off though. Absolute quality again.

Park - 8 - ran his bollocks off
Fletcher - 7 - scrappy in the first half but very very good in the second
Carrick - 8 - very good especially in the first half
Ronaldo - 6 - unlucky to be sent off but petulant all game

Berbatov - 6 - great control sometimes but sometimes he is so slow
Rooney - 7 - would have got an 8 if it wasn't for his awful corners. Scored.

Subs:

O'Shea - 5 - he has to play every game
Giggs - 5 - couldn't understand why he was up front with Rooney on the left. Should have scored.

Van Der Sar - (7) - One mistake when he tried to get through a crowd, but otherwise a decent performance with no other faults.

Rafael - (8) - Brilliant performance. Robinho was a none-issue, solid defence, good attacking play.
Vidic - (7) - Pretty solid, maybe one or two shaky moments.
Ferdinand - (7) - Similar to Vidic, maybe a bit better today.
Evra - (9) - Amazing. City couldn't keep up with him, he was by far the most up for this game. Few miss-timed tackles, but Man of the Match performance for sure.

Park - (9) - So many tackles made, tracking back, work rate, attacking, he does it all and I love him.
Fletcher - (6) - Probably his worst performance this season in the League, but that's not a bad thing since he was still good. Gave the ball away a handful of times though.
Carrick - (8) - Great play.
Ronaldo - (5) - Sent off, although a little unfairly it has to be said. He wasn't very good all game though to be honest, I can't recall him actually doing much. Attitude a little bad again, but ah well.

Berbatov - (7) - Decent enough, could've tracked back a little more but I didn't expect that even more today due to the return from injury.
Rooney - (8) - Wayne Rooney. Love it.

Subs:

O Shea - (7) - Fine.
Giggs - (6) - I think Tévez should've come on instead, but Giggs did alright. Gave the ball away once, but kept it forward the majority of the time.

VDS 7 not much to do, still not as reliable as last season
Rafael 7 did very well against Robinho, is going to be a class player
Vida 8 headed and kicked everything away
Rio 7 good
Evra 8 got forward very well
Park 6.5 run a lot, worked hard but didnt create much
Carrick 7.5 did well
Fletch 6.5 worked hard, but not creative enough
Ronaldo 6.5 wasnt bad, red card incident a bit strange
Rooney 8 worked very hard, created space, good goal
Berbatov 6 was rather poor imo, kept losing the ball, poor passing, not dynamic enough and didnt track back when he lost the ball

Van Der Sar - (7) - One tiny mistake but quickly composed himself and was fine for the rest of the game

Rafael - (8) - Brilliant performance for an 18 year old. Some people critisize his positioning but he looked almost a mirror image of Evra today. Class in every department
Vidic - (7) - Solid as ever. Took a hit from Richards as well and shrugged it off
Ferdinand - (8) - Smart defending always vital. Had it today
Evra - (10) - I don't normally give 10's out but he was just that good today. World class going forward, brilliant defending and pretty much dictated the wings throughout the whole match. Hope he stays at United for the rest of his career

Park - (9) - Laid down the marker for a starting berth for United. He just gets better and better
Fletcher - (7) - Was good today, gave away a needless free kick but apart from the the progression continutes
Carrick - (7.5) - Passing masterclass
Ronaldo - (6) - Wasn't at his blistering best today. Probably ballon d'or win still in his head. Most our play come from the left but he was still dangerous. Quite rightly sent off.

Berbatov - (7) - A few neat touches, did everything expected of him today. Brought defenders to him while giving Rooney more space.
Rooney - (8) - Back to his best with Berba. Almost scored an insane goal right at the end

Subs:

O Shea - (6) - Came on and got skinned
Giggs - (6) - Did the job asked.

He was involved in practically everything we produced - and worked his socks off helping Rafael with Robinho. Have you been on the diesel oil again Baldrick ?
