Some new show that starts tonight at 10pm on E4. Anyone know what it's about? I've seen it advertised for the past few weeks now.

Doesn't take Nostradamus to predict just how shitty this show is going to be.

Amazingly, despite looking like utter shite, it's actually quite good....The main bloke, who, despite looking like an androgenous ladyboy doing work experience in a salon, is actually quite a good and charasmatic actor, it's pretty well written with some sharp lines and it has tits in it....It looks like it may be vaguely interesting

So no one watched this then?...Last episode tonight and I thought it was another very good one.

Hugely neglected this I feel, despite looking like it was going to be shit, it was actually very good. The main bloke (I just googled and found his name was Robert Sheenan) is destined for big things I reckon. Or certainly some good roles as he's definitely got something very watchable about him. We make a whole load of shit TV and then when we make something genuinely well written and acted it's bunged on E4, promoted like it's skins and no one watches it. Shame

Bah!...Humbug

Honestly feckos, give this a go...you'll be surprised

Does this have anything to do with superheroes, time travel, sci-fi, kids being 'knowingly hip' or white people acting stereotypically black unironically?

If so I'm going to say 'No, but thanks'.

Been watching it since it started. Is Robert Sheenan the guy who plays Nathan? If so then yea I agree. Also the girl who can make any guy horny just by touching them is fecking hot

Have actually watched this from the start. Though I thought the first episode was a bit crap, decided to give it another go due to there being sod all on telly and it just happened to follow on from Scrubs (though not now). I have to say I am now hooked and have it on series record!!

I think its average. The lead guy (irish?) i find to be extremely irritating and don't particularly rate his acting skills. The story is not bad, although i thought it was slightly predictable. Yes it does have tits, and the woman who turned into an OAP, was hot prior her metamorphosis, but im not overly enamoured. I've only watched the opening 3 episodes, so do you reccomend i continue watching, or if i didn't like the first 3 particularly, i won't be overly interested in the remaining?

This was good. Didnt expect too much either but hopefully they'll bring it back for a longer period of time. Compared to other British shows, its... Well it cant be compared can it. Almost everything else we make is pure faeces.

Yeah not much changes in the formula from the 3rd episode to the end. If you dont like it, you dont like it.

Depends...I can't remember if the time travel one is 3rd or 4th? I think it's the 4th, and that was one of the best for me. It focuses on the runner and is less androgenous irish ladyboy centric so you may like it more if you don't like him. Whether you like the Irish guy (Robert Sheenan is Nathan yes phillip) is probably quite central to it as he's the pivitol character. I found him quite charming which, considering he plays a complete dick, i thought was quite an achievement.

There are also some cracking lines in it

After Nathan throws a brick at Sallys car

Sally: "What is wrong with you, are you mentally deficient or something?"

Nathan: "Well if I was mentally deficient, I would've missed!"

Sorry, but thats a cracking line.

And yeah the mixed race girl is fit, though she's the least developed character...But she looks like an ex of mine so when she was felating the bottle in the first episode, It took me back to a simpler time.....aahhhh

I think it's excellent, and like others have said, Nathan just completely steals the show. He goes from being irritating at the start to the most likable character by the end. The final scene in the last episode was hilarious :D

I presume that...

That chav girl Kelly will visit the grave and hear his voice in her head and they'll dig him up.

It has been recommissioned by the way, which is good

Probably...It seems to be the only way. I was waiting for that in the open casket scene so credit to them for holding off..I was also waiting for the obligatory post credits scene where his ipod battery runs out...I was a bit dissapointed it didn't happen. My flat mate also called his power in the time travel episode when he's shown to be the only one who survived the attack in Curtis alternate present. So I knew that would happen, but credit to them for revealing it like that, rather than straight after he'd died, or in the open casket, it was a great way to end the series.

Yeah myself and most others had it figured out by then as well, plus the whole thing about their powers being based on what they wanted, so it was a bit obvious. But yeah, fantastic ending, genuinely didn't see them doing it like that. He'll obviously get out anyway, because the show would be nothing without him. None of the other characters are anywhere near as entertaining.

He's very good. His presence in the trailers was weirdly one of the things that put me off...I instinctively thought, "pssschh, some androgenounes flouncing bitchy big brother like queen, and the rest look like chavs, I'll pass thanks" cos that's what he (and the rest) looked like. But the words cover, book and judge spring to mind. He was excellent. Easily the best thing about it, but that shouldn't undermine some of the writing which was very good for this type of thing. Reminiscent of Charlie Brookers Dead Set but with more comedy and less horror I thought. Plus it contained far more nuance and wit than Skins, which is unfortunately what a lot of people thought it was going to be like. And probably why it wasn't a huge hit, though apparently it pulled in a steady mil an episode including 4OD.

Oh and also

The weird BMXer that rode to his rescue....what was that about??

When I first saw him I just presumed he'd be the usual Irish stereotype in a British show, so it was very refreshing to see them not go down that route. 1 mil an episode is actually quite good for an E4 show. I'd say it'll grow increasingly popular through word of mouth now too, as like we're doing here, people will be told that it's actually much better than they'd think.

I just fecking wish british shows would be more than 6 episodes long. I think Misfits could've easily ran for 10 episodes, it had enough story possibilities to do so, but now a lot of stuff that I was expecting to be cleared up in this series is going to be left til next year. Apparently the 2nd series will only be 6 episodes too.

No idea about the biker, there's absolutely no reference to him anywhere else in the show, so presumably he was just thrown in to add another plot device for next year.

Yeah man, that was a bit fecked. I imagine he'll feature in the second series!

Me & the missus have only seen the last 3 episodes, so how many were there?

We had a wee barney - nothing major, just a difference of opinion but I talked some shite that was plain & simple - shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite!

The CE is the forum where everyone really gets shit off their chest, so I dont think anyone holds folks opinions against each other. Its mostly all all forgotten about it in other forums!

Thats a class scene btw :D

I thought on the whole it was pretty good, I was a bit hesitant about it at first when it was in some way compared to skins, which needless to say is shit. However it’s a decent bit of light hearted entertainment, with the dialogue between characters being the best thing about it, most of it saved for the Irish fella.

Nathan: “You lack balls”

Simon:"I’ve a set of balls, you just haven’t them yet!"

Nathan: *Pause* “That’s probably the gayest shit I’ve ever heard”.

Also thought the loner character (Simon) was well portrayed and the most interesting, he also has a freakish-like dancing jaw.

Their power/abilities are a sub selection of their experiences and character, however Nathan’s ability does really make sense (not that any of it does) he thinks he is invincible and uncontrollable yet the baby was able to control him, the chav girl can read his mind and the girl who was head of the cult presumably was able to control his mind as well, headphones absence. Yet his power is that he is somewhat physically indestructible which does not tie into his persona. It should be the other way round in which he is mentally indestructible.
Just a over critical observation.

When this thread first popped up I thought I'd give Misfits a go, but I'd missed the first 10 minutes of it so ended up watching about 20 minutes of it in the middle of the first episode.....Needless to say, I wasn't too impressed...just didn't seem like my type of show alltogether. Being Irish I thought the Irish guy was annoying as feck and well the others had nothing endearing about them so after 20 mins I turned it off and that was that.

Since reading this thread again today I decided I was bored in work and needed something to download so Misfits it was, feck it why not give it another chance its been getting decent reviews by you lot. I'm glad I did now. So far its very good and not what i saw the first time at all(that Laoise cnut is now quite amusing).

So cheers lads, especially Mockney as you've now successfully converted another. Just watched the first 4 episodes and even though I'm suposed to head out on the piss I'm seriously contemplating throwing on the fifth as I type

Pretty damn good show that shows a surprising level of maturity. Think episode 6 was the best of the lot with some really nice touches. Simon eating Pizza with
the dead probation worker
, Alisha and Curtis having to touch hands through the glass table and Nathans speech at the end come to mind.

This show won Baftas, so even after the shitty looking adverts, looking like a Skins rip off, I gave it a go. They just showed the first episode and wow, it looks mad. Some good early character building and a pretty crazy story mean that I'll probably be back to watch the next episode. In fact, I'll watch a load tomorrow, as it has all been aired already. Channel 4 clearly thought it was a bit wacky so trialed it on e4 before bringing it onto terrestrial. And it may well go all Lost on me, but I think this could be a decent thriller series, coming from our side if the pond for once.

Glad it did, it was one of my favourite shows of the last year. The ending of the last episode is just absolutely brilliant.
