9/11 autopiloted De Gea despite knowing for certain Romero would start.

    Lingard for Herrera too.

    It's a good side though, 0-3.

I hate it when Darmian plays, too. Like, he's genuinely fecking terrible. Comfortably the most pointless player we have at the club, and we have two much better options sat on the bench. Where are we even going with selections like that long term?
I agree. Such a basic player. Average defensively and shocking going forward. Just stops and plays the ball inside or backwards when in great attacking positions.

The brainless idiots at Talkshite say preciselythe opposite
Bar maybe Herrera for Carrick, the outfield team looks like Mou's strongest at the moment. Darmian is ahead of Shaw and Rashford ahead of Martial. So I'll agree with the talksport people here. He is basically playing his strongest team.

Exactly the same for me

I tend to sumbit line-ups that I would like to see, as opposed to what I necessarily think I might see.

7/11 for me. I don't think I've made a worse prediction all season. Thought for sure Shaw, Fellaini, and Herrera would start. Had Martial over Rashford.

I am surprised by Herrera’s absence but it must be something to do with Chelsea or the next yellow meaning suspension. Was hoping for Shaw to start but there we go…

Anyway we should still be strong enough to win – still confident but just not as confident as I was 45 minutes ago.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
I thought I had 10/11 in the line-up (Carrick for Herrera), but for some reason I had Shaw in my list even though I knew Darmian would probably start. That'll teach me for not checking it.

But it's pretty much the team I was expecting so hopefully we'll get a good result.

Carrick still has it in him if he has a mobile player next to him. Pogba is pretty atrocious defensively though and not great support in a midfield 2 so it could leave us open. Still we should be able to manage against this side.

I would have started Martial too.
I doesn't seem Jose has much respect for Anderlecht. Although Lingard and Rashford can help defensively. I have no idea what Jose is doing with Martial anymore. Is he not in there because he's being saved for Chelsea maybe? Could be, because we will probably look to play more counterattacking vs Chelsea and Martial is good for that. But if he doesn't start in the weekend then I'm afraid Jose could be done with him, which isn't a good thing of course.

Yep exactly :D but I actually predicted him to start Shaw after he talked well about him after the Sunderland match .

I'm a bit worried about Carrick playing. He was great for us earlier in the season when we were struggling to figure out our best midfield combination and defensive partnership, but we now know that Herrera and Pogba should play in the centre, and Rojo plus whoever is fit out of Jones, Bailly and Smalling should play at CB. Carrick has been exposed of late. Opposing teams press him and he can't cope. Hope I'm wrong.

Well done to those posting those wrong lineups earlier!

Decent lineup, De Gea, Herrera and Martial can be fresh and do Chelsea some damage at the weekend.

Didn't expect a line up without Herrera. Was hoping for Shaw and Martial to start.

On paper, this team is still good enough to get the result.

It was Carrick tonight, or v Chelsea.
So this is probably the right call.

It's not like Romero is doing disasters and leading to us losing to complain about David not starting . On the contrary he saved us against Rostov and was a key reason for us going past them .
Doesn't mean we shouldn't play our best team imo, especially as our Champions League hopes depend on it. De Gea can make saves that Romero can't, match winning saves. Giving ourselves the best chance to qualify is all I'm concerned about, nothing against Romero.

Like I said further up, bar the Herrera-Carrick swap the other 9 outfield players are his strongest available. So I don't think he's disrespecting Anderlect at all.

Martial, I feel, is gone in the summer. He's just not a Mourinho player which is unfortunate but it is what it is. We need Mourinho more than we need Martial at the moment so we'll have to swallow it.

Good point. Rotation is paramount at this stage of the season. And if not Carrick, then it would have to be Fellaini.

We'll never have the same squad I believe . He'll bring his players , spend the pre-season trying different combinations between then to see the best thing and then start the season with a constant starting XI .

I have no worries regarding next season . Let's just pass this season with best things we can get .
I think we will buy wisely to improve the team but there's always the chance we get some top player who again struggles to adapt or fit in the team. That's my worst fear after all that's happened. Looking realistically though that's not likely to happen. If you buy a proven experienced player, chances are very high it will work out.

I don't see the point . De Gea is not doing his marvelous saves this season anyway and hasn't been crucial for us in most games so what makes the difference ? What did De Gea do this season that Romero couldn't ?

As long as Romero is doing well in Europe League so why not keep him playing ? He saved us against Rostov so he was tested already .

Even if De Gea is superior GK doesn't mean he won't make mistakes . Look at Everton game for example . These things happen .

Jose has looked done with Martial a few times. It was much worse earlier in the season when Martial was left out even when playing well. I would like to think he is being saved for Chelsea but I think it's unlikely. I don't think Jose trusts Martial's overall game much like he didn't trust Mata's all round game when he was at Chelsea. He doesn't trust him defensively. It would be a massive shame if he does end up being pushed out though as I genuinely think he will be a world class forward eventually.

Rested for Chelsea? Maybe he'll come on in the second half then.

Don't mind playing Lingard in this line-up either, especially with Mata out. Lingard is more solid defensively too.

Let's see what he'll do in the summer and which players he will add to the squad then so we can have a clearer look at the team .

I'm still confident the next season is going to be very good :D

Shaw hasn't been playing though, he's plenty rested and should be able to manage 2 games this week.
