Matic and Fellaini would have been ideal for this. Typical our fecking luck.

I don't suppose there is the slightest hope of Phil Jones being fit which is a real shame as personally I reckon our defence is a shadow of its former self without him.

If Matic does not get fit, it would be a blow to us, especially because Herrera is totally off the form. I believe Fellaini is also not fit. For them too, although Sanchez is expected to start, Laca is out which is good news for us.

I believe we can win this one 0-2. On his current form, Martial could be the key man.

Some people ruling out Matic - has there been any news on his injury?

Not heard anything yet. I saw a bit of yesterdays training in some videos and couldn't spot him, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there. Fellaini was training with the side, however. So, three in midfield is still possible without him if José wants to go with that (it will still be three at the back as well IMO).

The more pessimistic I am before games the better we seem to do.

Jones is an idiot for agreeing to take multiple injections to play in a friendly carrying injuries.

Jose said he'll travel, not sure if he'll play.

Cause there aint no loyalty in sports, both players and fans, in the States.
Is it a lack of loyalty, or just a different level of maturity?

Do you think it's normal and healthy to be willing to get into a physical confrontation with someone or tell someone that they're not welcome in an establishment over a sports event?

Without Matic starting, I reckon it will be a right slog. We need to be effective if not pretty.

Still, keep our heads cool and we can come away with a 1-0 or 2-1 win. I assume Lingard will start ahead of Rashford on the right in a 3-4-3 due to his goal, though I have no hope he will ever be consistently good. But tomorrow would be a perfect day for Lukaku to step out of his doldrums and bang one in.

Big test for Lindelof, he will need to be at his best. Hope our 3 CBs have a solid game, we need it with the diminished midfield options.

    Looking for Eric
Matic is due some time out he has not been at his best for a few weeks, maybe that's why our performances look unconvincing with periods of poor play and passing. We need to perform over the 90 minutes against the better teams lately its been too poor often giving the opposition easy possession.

Same/similar team to the one that started against Watford IMO. Matic has traveled so hopefully he can play. Also hope old men Young and Valencia have the energy. :p

Would like to see Herrera sitting behind Pogba and Matic here.

We need a win, simple as that. Can't keep drawing/losing these games. Arsenal are in some form but a good team picks them apart. I watched them against City and time and time again they just got sucked into the ball.

We need to be solid defensively and keep our shape but in attack we want to stretch them, make some space in those advanced midfield positions and when we get into them we need to be clinical. Arsenal look shaky when they are stretched defensively because their midfield and attacking players don't fill those gaps.

With Matić potentially injured, some people are putting McTominay ahead of Herrera. Thank god A.Pereira is having his 12 minutes against Barcelona in Spain.

Exactly what I've gone for, but replacing Herrera with Matic if fit. Martial HAS to start ahead of Rashford all day long if one of them are to be selected. Not too worried about the Gooners. They always slip up after a run of a few games. Though they have won the last 12 at the Emirates to be fair.

We'll play the same formation as Watford but with Herrera instead of Matic if he's not fit.

No Matic. Herrera and Pogba. Herrera has been terrible all season. I am not confident because Herrera can't do Matic's job, he can't do Pogba's either he that player in between does a bit of attacking and defending. Master of neither.

With no Fellaini either, our midfield is very weak. - I hope we can get a big away win. We need to win a big game away from home. We need to turn up.

I'll be going to this game. Hope we can win it! :D

I know both Darmian and Blind can play centerback with 3 at the back, but isn't it weird there's no extra centerback on the squad/bench and Tuanzebe doesn't even travel?

Just hope Ibrahimović's out of the squad doesn't mean he had a problem with the same knee. Maybe he's to join the team in London.

I didn't predict him to play this game at all. He's not ready yet for such kind of intensity.

Herrera can do a job if he's restricted to defensive jobs only, tackles and interception, but Jose should tell him to stop rushing as an idiot.

You didn't predict him to come as a substitute? Considering he's been 4 times in a row subbed in, that's bold.

We might need one of his features last season, those killer assist-passes through the middle for the forward's runs.

No. I predicted a midfielder, either Herrera or Matic, the one who won't start, Rashford and one of Darmian or Blind to park the bus by the end of the game.

It makes sense… if we are holding a result. If we're chasing…

I hope not, but if we're chasing the result he may throw Mikhi or Mata in the game.

But I'm optimistic by nature so predicted us to win 1-0 and we'll put Blind or Darmian at the end to save the result. :D

It's a good call. But notice Mkhitaryan isn't with the squad. And I very much doubt Mata would get ahead of Ibrahimović if we are chasing.

Zlatan clearly lacks match fitness and sharpness IMO. He's playing currently with his class qualities only. This game is very tense for him and we need to ease him back in the team after such a long term injury. He'll play against CSKA for sure.

Neville is predicting a proper 3-5-2 with a Herrera–Matić–Pogba midfield (actually he predicted Matić–Herrera–Pogba, but that's nonsense).

Will we be bold and take the game to Arsenal tomorrow, or will we see the same mindset we witnessed at Anfield? I'd love to see us really have a go in one of these away games against the top sides. Arsenal aren't brilliant; we could really get at them.

"Jose Mourinho hasn't won any of his last 11 away league games against 'big six' opposition, since a 2-1 win at Liverpool in November 2014 (D5 L6), with his sides scoring just one goal in the last 10 such games". Sky Sports.

I doubt we're going to challenge them for possession, like we tried against Chelsea in the beginning of that game. Also not as cautious as against Liverpool, so probably something more like Watford, letting them play and then profiting from the space they offer us behind.

Are you serious? You'll get thrown out of a game for wearing a shirt that has the other team on it?

That's utterly ridiculous. Is that a common thing in England?

At US sporting events you see shirts/jerseys of both teams scattered everywhere throughout the stadium.
Yeah mate it's very different to in the States. Mixing isn't common. Best to keep quiet.

Mate, Europe is nothing like the U.S. you come to Stockholm and wear the wrong shirt in the away/home section you’ll most likely end up in hospital. Same goes for pretty much every country.
