You're wondering why a goalkeeper who was benched at Sampdoria is happy to sit behind De Gea for a hefty salary? I like him and he performed very well for us but I feel that people seriously overestimate his value.
Yes, really, if he has better salary than others I don't know but I have followed him in Argentina and MU and think he has been very good every time I seen him.

I don't think many goalkeepers who led their national team to the semifinal in the World Cup and their club team to victory in the Europa League are content with being the second choice.

Why is McTomminay on all these prediction line ups? We still need to win at Arsenal or at least draw.

Start our strongest line up from the last few weeks. You never know which Arsenal you will get so if it's a tough match we'll need our best players and if not then we can look forward to a 4-1 win.

Because the FA Cup is a low priority and a successful team has to rotate to compete.

We don't have a particularly good record against Arsenal in recent times, I think we've been knocked out by them in the FA Cup as well. Hope Ole puts out the strongest team, this is the ONLY trophy we can win this season. And why is the kick-off time so bizarre?

Could this go to penalties or have they scrapped replays only from the sixth round?

Hope we go full strength at them. Keep the streak going does more for our mentality against big teams as opposed to sending out Lukaku to bumble about for 60 minutes so we can rest people for fecking Burnley at home. We aren't in a position to be okay with losing to Arsenal with how our season has gone before Ole took over. Keep trying to win every game until the streak ends, then we go from there in terms of being conservative with selections in certain weeks.

I think this will be an insanely entertaining game. Hope to maybe see Chong or Gomes involved.

Arsenal are good at home, what we did last season should not make us complacent. We have to be in top gear.

We would be stupid to throw Chong into a game like this.

Maybe. Maybe not. Our youngsters tends to do very well against Arsenal even when playing a bit prematurely. Sure to have a lot of space to attack. I think he can cope and if not sub him off half time, no shame in that for a kid.

Our best run in a while coupled with Fellaini and Smalling nowhere near the team has been such a joy to behold. Long may it continue.

Would like to see Bailly, Fred and Sanchez start this one...and just smash these dizzy feckers!

Come on Ole, keep that train rolling. 8/8 please.

Tbf though, he looked much better against reading when he moved back into the DM role.

He is more mobile than matic and I feel he can do well in that role, nothing flashy but effective.

I`m torn on this... I want us to beat Arsenal but on the other hand the starers could probably do with some time to rest.

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Jones Shaw
    Pereira Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Lukaku Sanchez

Main question mark would be Pereira or Fred, both need games but neither has been impressive

We have a week off, i'd kike to play starters and a strong team, and rotate in midweek at home.

Won’t be using this to judge Ole. He can experiment as much as he wants, playing as many fringe players as he wants. It’s the league form that I’m concern about.

LVG won this and got sacked so...

It's an interesting point you make.
During our run of 7 wins in a row (our best run, in a long long time, under any manager), Fellaini and Smalling have rarely played, if it all. The same can be said about Baily and Fred, who IMO, are both average/awful. Fred, in particular, has not improved and everytime I see him play, it looks like he is getting worse! Baily has not been top class for a few years and I think that the 3 month purple patch we saw, when he first joined was just a blip. His actual performance level, is average-poor.

I'd like Sanchez to be given a chance to play, under Solkjaer. If he can't shine under Solkjaer, then we can conclude that we bought a lemon.

How many times have Ole said "We go to the next game and expect to win it". He'll play this for a win and put out a team that's good enough to beat Arsenal. We shouldn't throw away the FA cup, it's the most realistic competition that We can win this season. We don't have to decide between FA cup and the top four, not now.

    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    Herrera
    Fred Pereira
    Mata Lukaku Sanchez

Obviously we should rest Pogba, Matic, Rashford, Martial and Lingard.

the top4 is more important that the cup.

A hybrid 1st and 2nd choice XI, please. Something like this:

    Romero

    Young-Lindelof-Bailly-Dalot

    Pogba-Fred-Herrera

    Sanchez-Lukaku-Martial

Smalling on the bench and comes on for the last 30 mins.

And then for Burnely, swap out Young for Shaw, Lindelof for Smalling, Matic for Herrera (and Matic taking up the 6, moving Fred to Herrera's position), and Martial for Rashford.

Ole's comments post Reading suggest there won't be mass changes.

I agree with the line up. Hopefully we're in control or winning at the hour mark so we can sub off Pogba.

    Subs: Smallings, Lingard and Mata/Fellaini.

Got a sneaky feeling this is where the winning run will come to an end.

Arsenal at the Emirates have been a very good this season, and got big wins against both Spurs and Chelsea. Think maybe 1-0 Goons.

Wouldn't take Pogba off at all during this game. He'll run that midfield against those Arsenal players, we shouldn't even let them in the game.

Tough game. Tough, tough game... but I have a feeling we will be ok. The way they play at home will suit a counter-attacking style... I think it will be a game of quite few chances, so keepers may win/ or lose this game. Aubameyang and Lacazette are pretty, pretty decent forwards, they are proper goal scorers.. Arsenal have a v good cutting edge. Ramsey, Ozil will probably have a run-out too.. so it's a tough game.

Would really like to see Pogba given a rest, but I don't see it. Big game for Lukaku, and a few other attackers. Their Centre Half, Papastathopoulo, he likes to leave something on a forward, so maybe Lukaku can utilise all that mass he has....

Rashford posted on his Instagram earlier a photo of him in Paris so guessing he's being rested against Arsenal considering the other players are at Carrington/Unicef night.

    Confirmed out: Smalling, Rojo, Fellaini.

Also confirmed "1 or 2 changes" and Sanchez will play some part. This blows out any chance of wholesale changes for anyone who thinks we weren't taking this seriously, but also gurantees it won't be the same line-up that beat Spurs and Brighton.

Picking Friday was and still is an immensely stupid decision. As if they're deliberately trying to sabotage the viewing figures for the biggest Cup game.

He did limp off the match with a knock to the knee, probably wise to rest him for this one.
