What's your prediction for the game, @FootballHQ ?
3 or 4-1 loss. Bad time to play you lot. Completely different place to where you were when we got a 2-2 at Old Trafford (likes of Lingard, Mata and Pereria started that day). And we were in much better shape and out of the bottom 3 then aswell.

I thought you played a lot better today than I expected, and didn't think it was anything like a 2-0 game.

You had 3 or 4 breakaways and just as we all know lack quality outside of Grealish.

As a Wycombe fan as well, good to see Hause becoming a regular.
Had to look back at the record, but he did play 31 games for us, which is more than I remembered. But he looked class from the off for us 5-6 years ago now.

One heck of a crop we had in the last youth team we had...
Jordan Ibe, Hause, Kadeem Harris who turned out for Cardiff in the Premier, Ingram the keeper who went to QPR and a few others.

They played ok against Liverpool and was a bit unlucky. Won’t be easy this they’re fighting for survival.

Villa looked relatively compact for an hour against the lackadaisical dippers, but they are running out of games. If Watfird beat Norwich on Tuesday, then, at home, Villa are surely going to have to try and make something happen which may well work to our advantage against their porous defence. I was more concerned about Brighton than this one

5 goal margin win, with Mason Godwood scoring a hat-trick, or Ole out.

That's genuinely painful to read

Our front three looks rampant and truly unstoppable right now, Villa may score one or two but we'll score more. 4-1 United.

Yeah I got you confused with the other poster, but McTominay at CB might even be worse!
It might not be though, I mean I'm not Neville's biggest fan but he knows a thing or two about defenders and he's been on about McTominay being a long term CB from the start.

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Matic
    Bruno
    Greenwood Martial Rashford
    ---
Romero; Williams, Dalot; McTominay, Fred, Andreas, Mata, James; Ighalo

Maybe Lingard gets on the bench, but I'm starting to think he's a goner. If Lindelof is fit he'll probably play, but if feels below 80% I'd rather we just let him recover for the Southampton game. Expect Williams, McTominay, Ighalo, James, and Fred/Mata to be the subs used with the aim to have the game won and rest Shaw, Bruno, Matic, and two of the front three.

They looked a lot better defensively and on the counter against Liverpool, but you could tell Liverpool weren't at it. They were slow to press and lacked enthusiasm in the final third until Firmino came on and they woke up. Villa still lost because they just lack the quality required to beat good teams, especially when the substitutions that we can make will be able hurt them. We have a reasonable break until this game, so I don't see many changes again.

    I'd start with:

    De Gea
    AWB--Sober Maguire--Shaw
    Matic--Pogba
    Greenwood--Bruno--Rashford
    Martial

Anyone over Bailly at CB. The handball at the weekend was harsh but he is a liability and has been from day 1.

I would like to see Fred play. However its hard to fit him in with matic in form. Hopefully he can come on abit earlier in this game.
Fred looked good when he came on against Bournemouth and it didn't seem to disturb the balance of the team. You are right Matic is in great form but if Lindelof is injured i'd have Matic at CB and Fred at DM. Anyone over Bailly at CB IMO.

Villa are awful but can become emboldened. Best put it to bed then rest players.

There's not a lot to choose from. But I do agree. He is very erratic and always has a mistake in him, or two. I guess we're going with Lindelof-Maguire until next season or until Tuanzebe proves his fitness and has a very positive cameo.

Wary of this game, Villa absolutely desperate, their midfield was quite industrious against us last time around and controlled the game. We do have a very different midfield of course, but we can't show less effort than them.

I just realised Bruno is only a year older than Martial. Bruno seems like an old head and Martial seems like one of those cool cats. Was wondering why they get along so well

Bailly needs game time and Matic is not schooled as a CB, so I don´t agree with that. Bar that silly hands last game, Bailly has been decent whenever he´s gotten the chance this season.

I’m just so used to the inconsistency from us that I still don’t feel confident for the next two away games even though they aren’t exactly tough opposition.

    FFS

He must surely be begging to his bosses to be chosen for our games.
But he can't keep up with our breakaways! This will be another game of shite reffing, clueless guessed decisions because he's too far from play, loads of pointless stoppages so he can have a breather, plus he has an anti United agenda.

Good job we are now good enough to overcome all this. 4-0 United.

Feels good to be actually looking forward to Utd games again , for long time it has been just meh and something we more or less endured.

Although in a good run of from still a bit worried about our consistency, it is not unusual for us to have a nightmare performance in us when expectations are heightened.

But good teams play well when they are expected to play well.

Hopefully we can push on and build on the momentum and finish this season on a high.

Don't think Villa will be walkover but we should have too much firepower to drop pts here.

It's very unlikely for Leiscter and Chelsea to lose 7 and 6 points in just 4 games.
I agree, that number sounds surreal. But maybe Arsenal and Spurs can make it hard for Leicester, who knows.

I don't think we need to rotate for now, no? We start strong and see at half time or 60mn? We play Thursday, Monday, Thursday, Sunday, so I suppose the Monday game is the one we need to prepare well and truly win early, same for the Thursday game, and Sunday we put our best 11 for the FA cup?
