I would be surprised by anything other than Comfortable win for United.
It should be routine 2-0 for us but if we are in full flow which we weren't against Bournemouth despite the scoreline things could get Ugly for Villa.

I agree, that number sounds surreal. But maybe Arsenal and Spurs can make it hard for Leicester, who knows.
I'm pretty confident that Liverpool will win their match. So all we need is Chelsea to lose or draw at least one of their matches before they play Liverpool. If it happens, as long as we don't lose badly to Liescter and we should be set.

The boys preparing for Villa. Happy days :)

(And who says Martial does not smile...)

Don't remember seeing Martial smile so much during his time here, as he does nowadays.

Villa are fighting and will give us a test, but luckily they can't score for toffee. I am expecting them to sit back to start with so an early goal for us is vital. I think we have too much for them all over the park so going for a 2-0 win for us.

I legit can't wait for games again. Reminds me back in 2010 when I used to wake up at 430am to watch games. Fun times. Regardless if its Europa or UCL next year.

Anyone foresee a smash and grab Villa 1-0 win against all odds? Can't shake this feeling.

Same line-up, Bailly for Victor if hes not fit. Still get nervous with away games, so i hope we score early. If Villa have to come at us, we can really do some damage.

Ole's first real test this, lets see how he does.

Think this is the hardest of the four games remaining to make the final day meaningful. Villa have been really good defensively post-restart, giving away fairly low xGA. I trust us at home and hopefully Palace will have finished their journey to the beach by the time we meet.

I’ll be happy with any sort of win here.

At this point anything but a win will be very disappointing.

We are in fantastic form, villa haven't won in 8 games. If we pressure them early and score they'll fold.

while they did actually play pretty well at Lpool they lacked any real threat up top.

The midfield of Grealish/Mcginn is a decent level, so we need to make sure we keep them on the back foot.

I like Bailly, if he can get everything together he could still become a top top player, but for this match i'd be tempted to switch Tubby Lad Shaw to LCB and bring Brandon in at left-back, the rest of the team picks itself at the minute, harsh on Fred mind.

    GK
    AWB Maguire Shaw Williams
    Pogba Matic
    Greenwood Fernandes Rashford
    Martial

    2-4

Wasn't anything wrong with his back in the first place. Tactical sub. He's just saying it to protect lindelof.

Naa it was obvious he was pulling out of challenges in the first half. A couple of times I saw him get in the position to take the ball of the attacker but just hesitate a bit and play it safe.

PS: how’s it protecting Lindelof? He’d know if he wasn’t hurt. Do you really think players care more that the public not know it was a tactical sub than knowing it themselves that they weren’t good enough? Protecting Lindelof would be telling the press it was a tactical sub when it was actually due to Lindelof being shit.

Lindelöf plays like that in literally every match which is why people don’t like him. He was running fine, I assume you’ve never hurt your back as trust me you will not be running if it was bad enough to come off.

its protecting him by not telling the whole world he subbed him because he was too slow to keep up with king And he preferred Bailly to do the job.

we will see if he starts against villa but I have a feeling he will be fine.

He got like 5 days rest. He could just have recovered. You’ve sort of laid out a conspiracy that can never really be falsified.

If he was really bad enough that he couldn’t continue I doubt he’d be fine within 5 days. Anyway not really important as long as he’s properly fit.

Everybody and their dog knows that Stanislaus and King have good pace...going well into the match. Why would you waste a sub at half time if you knew this was a threat before the game when you could have just inserted a solution or counter the potential problem in King by starting Bailly?

That’s a question for the coaches I guess. Ole obviously hoped they could deal with it but that first half showed it was a big threat down our right.

No, it's not a question for the coaches because they didn't question Victor. He was injured and was replaced.

Believe what you want but if he’s running around fresh as a daisy against Villa I’ll be pretty suspicious! Bad backs don’t just go away in 5 days

There's no way we won't score. So the slash and grab is extremely unlikely.

We'll put a few past them. They are very bad in the back, the were awful against Chelsea.

Ole has been quite truthful so far. I doubt he would lie in public that he hurt his back. If it was tactical, he would probably comment that bailly have been doing well in training and deserved 45 min.
Rashford played with backproblems for quite a while.

Start Fred for Matic, who looked fatigued from the start and knackered by the time he was subbed off against Bournemouth. We need to learn to stop burning him out then wondering why he periodically turns to shit. Fred looked good when he came on and is fresh as a daisy.

    Otherwise same team.

That entirely depends on the severity muscle strain. Some only take a few days to heal fully. I will occasionally strain a muscle doing stronman/powerlifting and depening on how severe I'm good within 3-7 days most of the time.

Yep, so no training for Lindelöf and we expect him to suddenly play a huge game 5 days later? I dunno it doesn’t sound right to me.

IMO ole just said a little white lie to cover why he changed his centre back at HT. saying it was tactical publicly would hurt Lindelöf and dent his confidence.

I hope I’m right anyway! Need to keep a steady back 4 ideally.

I swear there's been so many games in the last few years where we've had a chance to gain on our top 4 rivals and we drop points so just hope that this isn't going to be another one of them. Win this and we're closing in.

Certainly a lot of pressure on us leading into this fixture but I also think this is what Ole has been preparing for. We just have too much firepower right now, I'm predicting a conservative 2-1 victory.

I reckon Fred might come in for Matic and Bailey for Lindelof.

other than that probably same 11.

I think Bournemouth going a goal up will help the coaches ram home the point of not taking anything for granted
Hopefully we start with a bit more focus

We're in the drivers seat for a CL spot now. If we win the remaining games we're playing in the bigboys tournament as we always should. Feels good man.

We’ll win this, I’m sure of it. Martial will score again. Hope Rashford does too, he needs a goal from open play. Watched a video today of all the goals Martial, Rashford and Greenwood have scored this season, and Rashford does have a couple of gears he hasn’t used after restart. Make it happen!

Are you aware that Leicester have only six points from their last five games?
What are the odds of Liescter to lose and draw their next 3 games right before they meet us? Honestly deep down I want them to not drop anymore poinsts so we can have one hell game against them! Can you imagine what a game it's gonna be if #3-#6 teams still have a chance to play in UCL? It'll be freaking Epic! Not sure if my heart can take it though

Nerves are understandable going into this game, considering all the times in recent years we have blew the opportunity. But this team is a completely different animal compared to previous.

For the first time I am filled with excitement instead of nerves, we will put these to the slaughter, at least 2-0, and continue undefeated through till we win the Fa Cup and EL.

    The faith is real.
