Fair enough beating Spurs but can we do it on a dry and dull Friday night at Villa Park?

Friday night means we have extra time to prepare for the Champo League qualifier, which is good.

Is that why we have Friday fixtures now? To help teams playing on a Tuesday or is it purely for TV reasons?

Friday night kickoff, definitely looking forward to this one.

EDL are coming to Birmingham on Saturday apparently...

From next season we'd have league games on Friday though.

I'm so tired of these wayward kickoffs. Can we just have a 3pm Saturday please. We never seem to play well when we kick off early on Sat or Sun...but Friday....bloody hell.

This game has specifically been moved due to far-right idiots demonstrating in Birmingham on Saturday. It's not a TV decision, but rather based on Police advice.

I'm on call on Saturday next week so this is good for me :)

    Same back four
If I had a choice the front six would be :

    Schneiderlin - Carrick - Herrera
    Memphis - Rooney - Mata

I expect LvG won't make any changes though.
Another win, no matter how ugly, would be great.

Must get tickets somehow. If we pass the ball quicker, we will win.

I've picked the same team with the same subs. See if it works away from home.

    Romero
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Mata Memphis Young
    Rooney
Can't see us changing anything, apart from De Gea if he gets his head sorted. Don't think we'll see any changes in the starting 11 for our premier league games until after the international break, as it will take a bit to get Schweinsteiger up to speed and for herrera to break back in the team. Pedro if we get him won't be starting from day 1 probably either, though that depends on when we sign him.

These are games we didn't win last year. We need to get results in them this time to push up the league. I fancy we will have too much in midfield and they don't have enough to hurt us at the back. 2-1 United.

Getting 3 points is all that matters in the first 5 games or so personally. Ideally showing some sort of quality but getting into a winning rhythm will only ease the pressure off the lads.

Villa is always a tricky place to go these days but hopefully we'll click a lot more against them. Expecting same eleven. Hopefully we'll have the option of whapping Pedro off the bench for this one though

    Darmian--------Smalling---------Blind----------Shaw
    -------------Schweinstegier------Schneiderlin--------
    ----------------------------Mata-------------------------
    Pedro--------------------Rooney--------------Memphis

Sorry Herrera would love to put you in there too, but just can't.

If Pedro isn't here it'll be the same as today

Be interesting how he juggles the squad with the CL qualifer.

Friday game so he has to start the Villa game with the as good ad we've got, especially as the first CL leg is at home.

Hopefully get a couple up and then withdraw Rooney, Memphis, and Schweinstegier, the back up for those guys can do a perfectly good job.

The CL qualifier is arguably the most important game of LVG's Man Utd career, so far. We can't afford to mess up, so I think on Friday, we may see some changes or early subs. I suspect that we shall see our absolute strongest team player in the CL game.
We do have a big squad, so in theory, we should be able to do some squad rotation without too much difficulty.

The big issue with this game is that last season, we could not break down teams who parked the bus and I feel that Villa will park the bus (PTB) and hit us on the break.
So, it will tell us if we are still struggling (against the PTB tactic).

My gut tells me that we cannot score more than 1 goal in a game, so I think it will be 1-0 (to us) or a draw (0-0 or 1-1). I think it will be a very boring game, but I hope I am wrong.

    Romero
    Darmian--Smalling--Rojo--Shaw
    Carrick--Schneiderlin
    Mata--Depay--Young
    Rooney

Hopefully Rojo in for Blind but I'm not expecting it giving his lack of match fitness.

Friday night? Is that something new in the PL or I missed something?

2 shots on goal, one goal, Villa without one, that will be good. Hope we'll have Pedro ready for that game.

Schweinstieger or Herrera in for Young for me. Move Memphis wide.

Won't happen though, and I suspect it'll be the same side as what started vs Spurs.
