    Oh man, early game :wenger:
Good for us in Asia, at least in Indian subcontinent. 10:25 PM kickoff. Already stayed up twice for 00:30 AM kickoff for Rochdale and Arsenal. 3 in a week would have been too much.

    ----------Romero-----------
    Dalot-Tuanzebe-Jones-Rojo
    ---------Matic-Fred---------
    James-----Mata-----Rashford
    --------Greenwood----------

I'd really want to return Rashford back to his best position on the left. James seems quite comfortable on the right (even though on previous games that he played there he was not as good as on the left, but I'd try for the sake of Rashford). With this line-up, we would absolutely win.

AZ have a very talented team at the moment by their standards, they have a few potential future Dutch internationals with Boadu, Stengs, Koopmeiners and Wijndal. There's currently a discussion going on in Dutch media that Stengs and Koopmeiners should be getting called up to the Dutch national team already. They can play some exciting football sometimes going forward, but will be vulnerable in defense.

It's a shame their own stadium has problems, artificial pitches suck.

Chong and Garner played in the EFL Trophy yesterday. I think we'll see Matic and possibly Mata. Jones is injured so might see a partnership with Tuanzebe and Rojo.
Oh right yeah. They are in the traveling squad though so who know. Unlikely they'll get a start however. Didn't cross my mind Jones were injured.

AZ will beat us. Together with Ajax and PSV they have the best attack in the Dutch League. Also Keep an eye out for Calvin Stengs, one of the best young attacking midfielders in Holland. Ill be happy if we come away with a draw

our only chance for the CL football though.
Totally get that but we are not good enough to be in the CL - we are better off concentrating on developing the solid foundation. The ultimate aim is to win the European cup and the premier league - its going to take time to build a team to do it. Use this comp to blood the younng lads - give them that taste of european football - albeit the lower grade of it.

Fat people cant lose weight quickly - its a gradual process. United are a fat person at the outset of a long term weight loss plan :p

    We all love United
So this will be played on a neutral ground instead of their own stadium? I guess we have a chance. Are they used to playing on an artificial pitch themselves?

By now probably, they've played their last 3 homegames there, won them all.

So many expecting /hoping Maguire will play. Is that realistic? I doubt they will have him play three matches in the same week.
Hes a center back, it's fine. The guy is fit and it shouldnt be an issue for the majority of footballers in their prime to do that.

My mind call 1-1 but I stay positive, 2-1 for United Greenwood scores 2 goals to put himself as a starter in Newcastle Game.
Would be fantastic, our youngsters is what will make this season bearable. Would love to see more game-time for Williams and Tuanzebe as well.

If we had any squad depth Mata, Lingaard,Young and Matic should be no where near a Man Utd match squad ever again

With the amount of injuries right now, on important players, I personally doubt it. But we’ll see.

For those that keep predicting Jones to start, he is out till at least after the International break.

    Solskjaer issues Pogba update
“He needs further treatment and rest on his ankle. I probably wouldn’t risk him on astro turf anyway if he was available for this game. He needs a bit of a rest.”

Solskjaer on the state of the pitch
“I’m surprised they have chosen to play on this pitch when I have looked at it. I’m used to astro from back home and it’s not the best I’ve seen. So it’s one of the worst astro turf pitches I have seen for a long while. In Norway they’re more new but it’s safe. I’m not saying that. It’s just not the newest.”

More on the pitch from Solskjaer
“It seems like it’s been used a lot. With my knees, I’ve not really enjoyed astroturf anyway. But these young boys are OK.

“I’m surprised that in this climate you have to use astro-turf. It’s OK if you live in the North Pole more or less. You can’t play in March or December on grass, but I’m surprised, yeah.”

You can’t force the Norwegian teams to have natural grass so I don’t think it’s possible but if I was running a club here I wouldn’t have astro round here if you have chance for natural grass.

Even more on the pitch from Solskjaer
A different style when you’re playing on astro parts that will become different. Less tackles so in Norway not as many good tacklers. You get lazier in your head it’s impossible to make misplaced pass. I’m one of the first who grew up with it.

Solskjaer praises Alkmaar result on matchday one
“We hope that. We’re just focussed now on this one game. It’s a massive game in this group for us. They started well getting a draw away to Partizan (2-2 draw) with 10 men. It’s an important game for us to get a result in.

“This is the competition that we are competing in now.”

Mata on United's hunt for their next trophy
“It is what it is. The rivals are playing good and winning trophies. To be a Manchester United player is something really special and if I could win an important trophy during my time [left[ here, it would be worth the wait.”

Mata on trying to win trophies
I think when the club and the manager said we would take time we believe it’s not going to be too long. I think this club is always winning and he has won here a lot as a player. I have won a few things here and in my mind is to win something really important with United. I believe we can do it, we know other teams are playing very good football and now in the last part of my career my biggest thing is to win.

    Solskjaer on United's busy week
“There’s a week with three games. It’s Monday, Thursday, Sunday, so that plays on my mind. We’re going to have a nice and easy session tonight, get used to the pitch and see if there’s going to be any reaction. I don’t think there will be.”

Solskjaer on the work United do in training
“We work on the whole game. Defending, attacking, scoring goals. You see these players in training and you see the quality. You hope it’s going to be one of these feel-good nights. It creates a lot of confidence when you score. It’s your job to criticise or praise. It’s our job to just always focus on the next one and scoring goals is the most difficult part in the game of football.”

    More from Solskjaer
You keep talking about those concerns.

We are a good team. And the last few games we are a good team to counter we are winning 1-0 in games if it’s home or away those games should suit us we haven’t been able to finish the games off.

On United's youngsters taking their chances
“Football is about scoring goals. No one wants to miss chances. It’s about for us, grasping the moments and realising we’ve got players here with Juan. We’ve got players here playing with these young boys. I just hope they’re ready to run, run in behind and finish the chances.”

You realise this is for the CL next season not this season? So your point about not being good enough is irrelevant when plenty can change in a year.

Solskjaer on youth team players starting
Yeah, they are a young team as well by the way and an exciting team and one or two of ours will get another chance to impress. They all want to be part of a long future here. We will have a mixture of experience and youth.

Solskjaer on injuries ahead of the weekend
“We’ve had Anthony out for a while, I don’t think he’ll make it (against Newcastle), Luke’s been training, I don’t think he’ll make it, so my focus is on this game but I’ll speak to you more after the game.

“Now the sole focus is on getting the result we need here.”

our only chance for the CL football though.
    We couldn't beat Rochdale mate.

Fans need to realise we have absolutely no chance of winning this tournament or CL football in general. Our priority should be finishing as high up the fecking league table as we humanly can so future signings might see a glimmer of progress at the club.
