No but I expected a home draw which is nothing spectacular in Europe and would be a good resut for Barca, too. AND I did expect us to forge one or two sitters with a few shots on target. We shat it, let's be fair. Just like against PSG (which was ridiculous) but were slightly better against Barca.
Your expectations are highly Unrealistic IMO but you have your opinion, maybe that's why you're pessimistic. I simply don't expect Us to get anything from a team like barca as we simply aren't good enough and they're far far better than us and (i hope not) we'll see it tonight as the first leg was barca in first/second gear.

Mata will have a few better touches and sequences of play compared to Lingard because he's technically superior, however Lingard is the better two-way player on the right side. Has much more pace to close down or to stretch the line. Regardless, having to choose between Lingard and Mata shows the lack of starting XI quality. Like legit quality, not potential.
He can run forever, buts what’s the point when he does feck all else? Might as play with 10 men for all the use he is.

I hate to say this, but an lineupp with Martial, Rashford and Lingaard will not bring us the goals needed.
Martial and Lingard have stunk up the place for a while now. Barcelona always leave space in behind for you to exploit so using the statue Martial and ghost Lingard is quite puzzling. I suspect we'll be chasing shadows in midfield, I would have gone for 4-4-2 with Lukaku-Rashford up top and an extra midfielder.

Can't afford to sit off Barca. Need to apply the pressure from the start or we're done.

Expecting a home, giant team (which are no pushovers atm) in European KO stage to get a draw before the return leg is 'highly unrealistic'? Maybe I'm an optimist, then.

Don’t see what’s funny about that. Obviously it’s unlikely considering Young always plays, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work.
Attacking player and dalot (not a good defender atm) as FB's, would be a disaster. Imagine alba running at andreas () whether it'll be worse than young or not, I have no idea.

Phil Jones at RB? I'm depressed. Dalot is quicker and more of a natural RB. Not getting this at all.

I hope that by being as pessimistic as possible it will come back to bite me.

    But Phil Jones?

    Hopefully he's not taking corners.

He’s done well at RB for us before. Been a while, though :nervous:

Lingard is better centrally with support from Pogba, Martial and Rashford ahead. But again, it's not ideal. Too much shoehorning players in positions. It's gone on far too long and it's indicative of the club, not so much current and previous managers.

First concerning team selection of the Ole tenure.

Phil Jones is not a right back. Why do our managers persistently do things like this? It makes their life so much more difficult when it inevitably ends in defeat.

You answered yourself. It wouldn’t be. At least Andreas might pin him back a bit. We’re talking wingbacks here, not fullbacks. At least I hope we are.

First? It's been happening for weeks now, all we are missing is Jones taking corners.
