    Now, this is podracing.

    1-4.
:lol: Could help myself and went to go make it!!

Ok but seriously now, I doubt Pogba starts as well, not even a sub appearance, aside from fitness, it would be more flashy coming on for his first debut back at Old Trafford.
I would like Mkhi to start but after Lingard's peformance I doubt it but it will be good to get him on at the 60th minute or so.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Blind--Shaw
    Carrick--Schneiderlin
    Lingard--Rooney--Martial
    Ibrahimovic

subs: Romero, Rojo, Herrera, Fellaini, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford

Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester United. Martial and Zlatan to score.

How has Calum been since his injury recovery. He was in fire for them last season.
He looked poor whenever I saw him last season (after recovering from the injury) but I think he's been scoring goals in pre-season so we'll see. If he doesn't perform they're certainties for relegation imo.

Our defence largely looked pretty solid against Leicester, would be surprised if they score against us, so this one's probably down to how well our attack gels (and how much or little Rooney gets in the way). I'm going with an optimistic 2-0.

Cannot wait until Sunday... the build up, the announcement of the starting line-up, everything about the first fixture of the season is so exciting, especially when you know we're not going to be playing drab possession football every week!

    -----------De Gea-----------
    Valencia-Bailly-Blind-Shaw
    -----Carrick-Schneiderlin--
    Lingard----Rooney----Martial
    ------------Zlatan----------

Pogba and Mkhi to get some minutes later on.
This is exactly what I have predicted, though I hope Pogba actually starts rather than comes on from the bench.

As long as we don't start darmian and young in midfield ahead of him ;)

Seriously though, and no disrespect intended to Bournemouth but that might be an ideal debut for Paul, regardless of any match fitness issues (which he may not have) or getting to know his new team mates.

We won't start Pogba mate on Sunday. He might come off the bench if we are lucky. We will see his debut at Southampton more than likely at old Trafford. He has had no pre season, been on his holiday for nearly two weeks. Naturally fit or not, he needs to know his team mates and get at least a week of training over him.

Yeah that's what my logical mind says, so I predicted that. But my muppet mind would love to see him start.

Pogba won't play more than 15 minutes in this game if Mourinho's kind. He may be like Di Maria's debut, and come ine slowly to the team.

But I think that we'll see the same team as against Leicester except Mhitaryan for Lingard if he's injured.
very much doubt we will see him, no pre-season been on hols since the Euro Final, he may be fit but will be lacking in match sharpness.

    I would like to see:

    De Gea
Valencia (I'd prefer a new RB actually, but he's all we have and Jose won't play TFM)/Bailly/Blind/Shaw
    Carrick/Schneiderlin
    Miki/Pogba/Martial
    Zlatan

Pogba won't play though, so I guess Rooney will play in that role, but I'd prefer Hererra.

I am going with a 3-0 win for us. It'll be slow and labored but we'll score goals. Zlatan and Rooney to score before Pogba scores on his debut from the bench.

Absolutely buzzing to see the first match. 2-0 to us with Zlatan and Martial scoring. I don't think Pogba will make the bench but I hope he does and we're in a comfortable lead, he will get 20 minutes for fitness I'm sure.

    Today is Wednesday.
    Game is on Sunday.
There is plenty of time to recover, though I do find it questionable why he is drinking alcohol - I'd have thought he'd be teetotal.
It has been reported in the past that he doesn't drink alcohol, his agent said as much but that was quite a long time ago. He obviously looks after his body so either way I don't think it's a big deal

    Preview: Bournemouth v Manchester United
Match details: United’s first game of the new Premier League campaign kicks off at 13:30 BST on Sunday, with the match being broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports. MUTV subscribers can watch the game in full from midnight that evening. You can also keep up with all the action as it happens via ManUtd.com's live match blog and by following our official Twitter account @ManUtd.

Setting the scene: A trip to the seaside is in store for United on the opening weekend of the 2016/17 season. Fresh from last weekend's Community Shield win over Leicester City, Jose Mourinho and his players have been training hard as they put in the final preparations ahead of the big kick-off. United have faced Bournemouth only 10 times in all competitions and Sunday's match will be just the third league clash between the two sides.

Who'll play for the Reds? It's an intriguing question. Mourinho is putting the finishing touches to his squad, with Paul Pogba completing a world-record transfer on Tuesday to become the Reds' fourth signing of the summer. Paddy McNair and Donald Love left for Sunderland on Thursday and the manager has indicated there will be more outgoings before the transfer window closes on 31 August. Two of the new arrivals, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly, played throughout the victory at Wembley, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan making a late appearance off the bench, but it remains to be seen whether that team is a firm indication of how United will line up for the league opener.

View from the dressing room: Michael Carrick told MUTV on Thursday that he expects a tough game on the south coast. "The league is now so close in terms of the teams that you expected to beat five or six years ago," he explained. "Now that is not the case – not just with us but a lot of teams, as there were results you just couldn’t predict [last season]. Bournemouth away is not an easy start; they are a good team and obviously beat us there last year. But we are in a different situation with a different team and we’re looking forward to it. We can’t wait to get started."

Last meetings: The most recent encounter with Bournemouth was the final Premier League game of the 2015/16 season, as the Reds cruised to a 3-1 win in a rearranged fixture at Old Trafford, with goals from Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young. The last visit to the Vitality Stadium went far less smoothly, however, as United were a goal down in just the second minute. Although Marouane Fellaini’s strike levelled the scores, a second-half goal from former Red Joshua King was enough to secure all three points for the hosts.

Story of their season: Bournemouth, who were playing in the top flight for the first time last term, will have been more than happy with their 16th-placed finish in the Premier League. Despite lengthy injury lay-offs for a number of key players, the Cherries surprised several teams and won 11 matches, notching a total of 42 points. But their defence was one of the leakiest in the division, with only last-placed Aston Villa conceding more than their 67 goals.

A word from the opposition: Talking earlier this week, Bournemouth full-back Charlie Daniels was looking forward to the visit from United. "It's Jose Mourinho's first [league] game and they're obviously bringing their new big names to the stadium, which is great," he said. "We're eager to recreate the scenes from last year; it was a very important game in our season."

Opposition manager: Eddie Howe has been in charge of the Cherries since he returned to the club for his second spell in 2012. Something of a club legend, Howe has managed the club in all four of divisions of the Football League, saving them from the brink of extinction in his first season of management. He rejoined the club when they were in the League One relegation zone and managed to guide the team to promotion that same season. Shortly after, Eddie oversaw another promotion, taking Bournemouth to the Premier League for the first time in their history. As one of the top young managers in the country, Howe was even linked with the England job this summer and, despite other interest, appears to be staying put for the time being.

Who’s their star man? Injury meant he played just seven matches last season but Callum Wilson still finished as the club’s joint-second top scorer. The English striker arrived from Coventry in the summer of 2014 and netted 20 times on his side's way to winning the Championship title. Now hoping for an injury-free campaign, Wilson will be expecting to fire the Cherries to another successful season.

Did you know? Former Red Ted MacDougall, who joined United from the Cherries in 1972, holds the record for the most goals scored by a player in a single FA Cup tie. In 1971, while playing for Bournemouth, MacDougall put nine past Margate in an 11-0 first-round win at Dean Court.

Thought I'd go down memory lane to set the tone. Jose Mourinho is unbeaten in all his first games of the premier league campaigns. 6 wins and 1 draw.
Only the Birmingham game I couldn't find. Sorry for the quality of some of them, tried my hardest to get the best ones out there.

Lets hope he keeps it up and i'm not jinxing it. Expecting a 2-0 win, hopefully.
Can only post 5 vids at a time, so will post the last one separate.

Unfortunately couldn't find a video for this.

    Enjoy!

Am I being fanciful in thinking Jose will start Schneiderlin or Herrera instead of Fellaini...seeing as he started and finished the Community Sheild, I'd say he will likely start again, I remain unconvinced on him. It seems Jose requires a certain "toughness/height" element in his midfield which Fellaini fulfills, soon to be replaced with Pogba I'd imagine.

I think Jose would start with Carrick/Herrera in MF and late substitution for Pogba,as well I don't see them score any against our defense. My prediction for the match is 0-2.

    Gone for this:

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Blind Shaw
    Schneiderlin Herrera
    Miki Rooney Martial
    Ibra
Lingard, Rashford and Carrick to come on.

Surely Pogba isn't match fit yet? I know its harsh to drop Lingard, but I'm guessing last week's line up was not indictative of this weeks and was about getting minutes on the pitch for certain players.

I think this is our strongest line-up until Pogba and Smalling are ready to play.

    Mkhitaryan Rooney Martial
    Ibrahimovic

    Schneiderlin, Lingard, Rashford

Lingard and Mkhitaryan could be swapped over, while I think Pogba & Smalling aren't likely to start a game until Hull City away at the end of the month. I can see both being subbed on against Southampton at Old Trafford, however.

Should be a comfortable win, but opening weekend is always unpredictable.

Martial has looked a bit shot for a while now, I'd be tempted to drop him for Rashford. Hopefully Rooney picks up a knock in the warm-up too.

Martial has a lot of credit, even if there's no mutual respect showing with Mourinho. And I was not impressed by Rashford in the left-wing those minutes against Leicester, he didn't seem at ease there. It seemed to me he'll adapt much better to attacking through the right-wing. Although he would be the more natural attacking substitution for Martial, as Memphis seems out of contention, it might simply not work. Could Rashford replicate that impressive Galatasaray slalom in the right-wing?

Carrick and Lingard are, in my opinion, undroppable right now. But another issue is: who will accompany Carrick in the middle? Fellaini, perhaps, like against Leicester. Or, probably, someone more mobile and able to press, like Herrera? Schneiderlin doesn't seem fit enough and, despite people's hope and preference of him in the lineups, Mourinho hasn't shown any sign he will pick him ahead of any other midfielder, on the contrary.

That ‘possibly Rooney’ at #10 Mourinho comment made me wonder if he isn't going to be benched right away, after the miserable display against Leicester… and allowed to pickup form away from the 1st team. If Mkhitaryan had integrated better, I would have no doubt. And Mourinho starting Mata at #10 might send some wrong signals for a player he might not care so much.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Carrick Fellaini
    Lingard Rooney Young
    Ibra.

Is Mhkitaryan injured? why do most people think Lingard will start ahead of him?
Because of Sunday's game. Guys in form and would be good to let his momentum continue. Plus there are some that are saying Mkhi hasn't quite adapted yet, but I call bollocks. I would prefer him to start and keep Lingard in, but that would mean Mhki takes Rooney's 10 role...not going to happen.

Sorry to all the muppets that had Pogba starting or coming off the bench. At least you won't be losing line-up prediction points now that we know for certain he not playing. Then again some muppets will still put him in regardless :D
