We're strugging in midfield as per usual. Decent all around though.

A lot of energy, not a lot of skill. Still, looking decent all things considered.

Not even close to the football standards of this clash we're used to.

Our front 4 is so poor at defending that me and my grandma could play tiki taka around them for 90'.

Enjoyed that. We’ve been in it, but we’ve lacked quality at times. I thought McTominay has been poor in his involvements, Fred has been significantly better this game. We should have had a pen, although in general, I have little issue with pens not being given for stupidness like that.

Anyone else fecking love Fred? If this was Fergie’s 08 side, he would be an important player and probably a cult hero. Once this team (fingers crossed) starts winning things, Fred will become a cult hero like Park Ji-Sung

This game is there for the taking. The players need to take it.

A lot is mentioned about Ole’s reliance on individual quality but it’s exactly this that is missing from the current line up. McTominay, Fred and James are all going about their jobs well but they lack the quality to really do much more. This is why we don’t compete with City.
Spot on. I like all three of them, McFred for their stability they bring to midfield and James just because he seems like such a nice lad, but all three (+AWB) lack quality on the ball which means any attack down the right gets killed in its infancy when Chelsea press so high

Good half, better in latter part of it, quick game, this pace cant last one team it going to drop off the pace , spaces open up then, just not us please. And it was handball hes pushed it away onto Greenwoods arm, Chelsea shouting for handball. Need to keep this press going .

I know. It's 100% a penalty. We've been done. Can't believe Tyler refused to say it was a pen, and then Neville just sat there and went along with it being a 50/50.
It may as be McManaman commentating with Tyler, such is Nevilles obsession with going against us at every opportunity to toe the line of impartiality.

Why does Tyler need to keep mentioning Greenwood's arm being near the ball when the handball was by odoi

    :o

I just need to stop caring but its difficult when you're forced to hear this kind of bullshit all the time
He’s a fecking cop out. Gary asked him a straight forward question “do you think that was a penalty?” to which Tyler replies “At first glance in real time it looked like Greenwood touched it” he didn’t fecking ask you what it looked like at first glance, he asked if it was a penalty after it was made clear Hudson-Odoi handled it.

Really hate listening to Tyler who seems to think you cannot give a handball against Hudson-Odoi simply because Greenwood might have handed it if the Chelsea player let it go.

    Just makes no sense

Am I going nuts? Why are the studio not saying it’s a clear penalty despite saying his hand is in an unnatural position and he handballed it??

Even if this was bad from both teams, I think we edged it. They are afraid of us !
That's great, but we need to take 3 points, their fear won't help anything. Giroud came an inch away from finishing this game.

Good job Martial wasnt on the pitch giving that Rashford performance. He'd be getting pelters.

No cutting edge as usual from us but play wise we have been not too bad. Has nil nil written all over it but I don't see us keeping a clean sheet, despite Chelsea not having many chances.
Bruno needs to get more involved on the edge of their box and Shaw needs to improve his delivery apart from that not terrible.

Dan James has been comical, if ever an example of a player running around like a headless chicken.. that was it.

When Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink starts talking I’m urging someone to give him a yellow card for time wasting.

How could that not be a penalty, he handled the ball at shoulder height, that’s not a natural position of the hands at all.

On the other hand, I’m glad it wasn’t given, if we are to win this game we need to create chances and play better.
I am not, just get the win ffs ! Doesn't matter how !

Will we ever score against a big 6 side again?

So wasteful when we've won the ball so high many times that half.

Also I don't care about the honor of open play goals, still fuming about that pen decision. Atwell just didn't want to give us a penalty in a big game, the pressure from other managers has really done a number on decisions against us the last 2 months.

McTominay should have dropped like a sack of shit when Rudiger touched his face then. That’s how you get red cards.
This ref giving something for a Chelsea player's hand touching something?

Even first half. We're playing reasonably well and should have had a penalty.

Chelsea will be a lot more threatening if they bring someone quick on up front - Werner will be on shortly.

Decent first half. Had we been given the obvious penalty and Bruno scored, the score line would be reflective of the match. I’ve been really impressed with the high pressing game.
