For Chelsea fan: Fofana will still be out for the game? Any reason why Sterling and Aubameyang didn’t start against Brentford?

Fofana is out until after the WC. Sterling, Auba, and Silva were a part of the rotation to keep them fresh for the condensed schedule. They are healthy.

Has anyone been to Stamford bridge and know if there’s anywhere to park near there or is it a case of parking miles away and walking to the ground? My first away game down in London and I’m buzzing!

Big test this, but feel good about it after yesterdays performance. If Casemiro, Fred, Martinez and Varane can put in similar performances, we have a great chance.

If you can find a car park near a tube station on the outskirts of central London I'd park there. Richmond Old deer car park for instance. Only need to pay till 6:30pm.

We will be under pressure at chelsea. Fred is prone for errors so I’d play Eriksen who is better on the ball in possession.

Really looking forward to this, hopefully we can pick up where we left off against spurs.

Toughest decisions for me are in the midfield. Eriksen has been excellent and in theory he should come straight into the team. But we're away from home and the City performance startled me.

    De Gea
    Dalot--Varane--Martinez--Shaw
    Casemiro--Fred
    Antony--Bruno--Sancho
    Rashford

If Martial is fit I'd start him ahead of Sancho and put Rashford on the left. I know Eriksen has been excellent but I find it hard to drop Fred for this and his energy will be required.

Game vs Spurs showed that we may be moving into right direction. But that process will take some time so expecting a comfortable win at Stamford Bridge is not realistic. I'd be happy with a draw to be honest. We beat Liverpool, Arsenal and now Tottenham but those games were at home, away to City we really struggled and although Chelsea are not City, it's still a difficult game as always.

Expecting similar starting 11 anyways, then many of them rested vs Sheriff in EL as we need only 1 point to qualify there.
We need to win the group in order to qualify automatically. 2nd place doesn’t get qualification.

Same team except I’d put Eriksen in for Sancho. Don’t feel great saying that because I’m a huge Jadon fan but you can’t drop Fred after that game and we need to play Eriksen so just put him on the wing and tell him to roam around and make things happen. Also will give us more control.

Fred was outstanding yesterday but woeful on Sunday. He makes me nervous, he can play a great game one week but be useless the next. Is he a big game player, I cannot even determine that one. I would like to see the same team but I would fully understand Erikson coming in instead. Casimiro is a must, miles ahead of Scott and offers that extra protection to Erikson. However I feel Casimiro is still getting used to the pace in the EPL which you can see with some poor and slow passes where he thinks he has more time on the ball than he does. He may need a Fred to help cover him but as I said above, which one turns up? I'd go

    De gea
    Dalot varane martinez Shaw
    Casimiro
    Fred Bruno
Antony martial (if fit) rashford (if not sancho)

Saying that, I cannot see past a 0 0 which I would be very happy with at this point in the season. A clean sheet and a point against a top 4 contender.

What? We finish 2nd and go to round of 32, right?
Slightly changed this year. If we win the group we get a bye in the next round and enter at the R16 stage which doesn’t begin till March. If we finish 2nd, we enter a two-legged playoff round in February against one of the eight teams that finished 3rd in their CL groups for a place in the R16.

Only group winners get automatic qualification. The 2nd place team has to play a playoff against a team dropping down from the Champions league. A lot of strong teams likely to drop into europa this season. Barca, Inter, Juve all possible.

Did not know that, thanks. That ridiculous penalty given against Martinez vs Sociedad could really cost us now. Not that I care much about EL but it would mean 2 games more to be played anyways.

If Martial is for enough to start then I'd replace Sancho but otherwise, same team. Bit harsh on Eriksen perhaps but I don't think you can drop any of the other 3 after the spurs game.
I would bring Eriksen back in the middle and play Fred on the left wing in place of Sancho where he can be launching his midfield destroying runs from. Sancho is playing with little commitment.

I think we'll win this one 1-0 or 2-1. The players will be buzzing from the game yesterday and hopefully they can keep that momentum going. Fred has to keep his place. Fair play to him, he was dreadful against Newcastle but he shut a lot of people up with his performance against spurs. Hopefully we play the same system and he can be as effective again.

People wanting Eriksen or Fred on the wing baffles me. I'd happily bench Sancho for Rashford if Martial is fit, but you can't just stick a midfielder out there. Eriksen nor Fred offer Sancho's exceptional ball retention in tight spaces, and even though he's our least dangerous attacker currently he's a better option than either of the other two, both of whom would be useless if stretched that wide.

This game will be an almighty circus in the build up.

Good luck to the players…let’s hope they can focus on the match, and whoever United send out for the press, don’t let it be one of the Portuguese players!

Interesting notion but I don't think Fred would fare particularly well on the wing, he's an alright full back in a time of need but I think the wing would be a bridge too far.

For some reason Elanga seems to have really fallen off a cliff in the managers mind - didn't even figure coming on for the Newcastle game when some fresh energy might have helped but, I'd play him over Sancho to start this game and definitely over Fred/Eriksen. In the Liverpool game, he provided that energy and directness, plus presses better. For a game at the bridge, that will be needed. Having Sancho come off the bench once Elanga has put a shift in might also be better card to have.

Yeah, generally people underrate how much more difficult it is to play away than at home. It’s almost night and day. Even against bottom and midtable teams. But against the top teams the home team have a huge advantage. For some reason people don’t completely understand how big of an advantage it is to play at home.

But to be fair it is actually insane how big a difference there is between playing home and away. Like you really get surprised when you look at the numbers.
referee is biased ? giving advantage to home team ?

I doubt we are going to get much from today's presser. 70 per cent of the questions will be about Ronaldo

The 2nd-toughest fixture in the calendar each year in my opinion historically for United behind going to Anfield.

As ever, even though I don't think they're a particularly fluid/well-oiled side right now, I'd take a point if offered beforehand

They haven’t beaten us in the league for 5 years. That’s when we went for pace up top, it seems to freeze them

You'll get a space right outside the ground no problem. London (and Chelsea in particular) is famous for it's ease of parking and many available spaces, especially on match days.

Seriously though, get the train. Nobody drives to Stamford Bridge.

I swear when he picks up a “niggle” it lasts for 2 months. I dread to think how long a serious injury would take to recover from.

With Martial out, think we will and should go with the same team vs Spurs.
