Same team. Same mentality. Ronaldo in the stands if Martial is fit.

    1-2 United.

Huge opportunity to get ourselves well and truly in the mix before the World Cup, no?

We have a somewhat favourable run of games after this one until January when we play City & Arsenal (and who knows, we could be hot on their heels going into those fixtures).

Spurs have Newcastle & Liverpool. Chelsea play Arsenal & Newcastle (with Brighton away in-between which will be interesting). As long as we do our job and maintain a similar level to Spurs, I'm starting to quietly fancy our chances of remaining consistent enough to finished 3rd/4th or potentially even put pressure on the top two... This season will no doubt be different due to the World Cup. A lot could change, particularly any momentum some teams have. January could be big with ins & outs, but I think some outs for us would potentially be more important than getting another player in!

I'd be very tempted to go with the same team. We have Sheriff next week so that would be a good opportunity to start Ronaldo, McTominay, and Erisksen if he needs a bit more time before he can start a match.

Edit: Realized I barely discussed this game

Really hope we can keep up the momentum and win this. No reason why we can't. I just hope we play reasonably well and avoid defeat at least. We have only drawn one game under EtH and no doubt this will be a tough match. I think we can be content with a draw as long as we are winning almost all of the November & December games. The fixture list guarantees that the teams around us will be taking points off each other in the next 3-4 game weeks, so we'll see natural progression if we can keep this level up.

Score two goals and we have a good chance of winning this game. Our defending has looked solid but we are still wasteful. It'll come down to who is more clinical on the day.

Lets hope Martinez still has room in his pocket for whoever plays up front for Chelsea nowadays.

Thank feck it's not Lukaku, fat feck would never fit.

I fecking hate playing Chelsea. It always feels like a dark and niggly match and is just a hard watch. I honestly can't remember a game I've enjoyed against them (during the match, not the result)

Hopefully we play as well as we did yesterday and finish chances but getting away without a loss here is key

It's hard to imagine them getting much joy out of the Varane-Casemiro-Martinez axis.

The Dan James debut masterclass a couple of years ago when we spanked them 4 nil?! First game of the season no less!

Last time we lost to them in the league was November 2017, almost 5 years ago (we have since lost to them twice in the FA Cup though).

However the last 4 games have ended in draws. Two 0-0 and two 1-1. Not expecting a fun game here.

Time to beat this lot again. They're functional but lack flair. James being out affects their attacking threat and opens an opportunity for us to exploit that side of their defence. If we can play like we did last night, then I fancy us to win this 0-2.

    de Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Eriksen
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial (if fit)

If Martial is out then Rashford ST and Sancho wide. Drop Ronaldo from the travelling squad.

Tough game on paper but we've got ourselves a big game manager. Would not be surprised at all if we win here. I think our defense can handle Chelsea's attackers with ease but we're just not sure what Man Utd side will show up. I expect us to be consistent but it wouldn't be surprising at all if we have an absolute stinker after our best performance this season. Seen that one too many times.

Don't know if either side really changes enough to become the one who sits back and tries to manage the pressure. Seeing how both are playing atm. It seems like a promising top fight. Whoever is more clinical to finish off their chances, wins.

Looking forward to this. It's not really a must win game for either side, but boy would it feel really good to win this. Especially for United, I think a win here would go a long way in cementing this feeling that Ten Hag is building something good at United. For Chelsea, it would be just as big a statement if we win this. A draw is probably the most likely result.

Most confident i've been going into a big game against a top side that we will likely match them for a long time.

    Looking forward to it.

Chelsea are toothless in attack themselves, and I just can’t see them beating us if we have our defensive triangle in place. We just need to go out and win it at the other end. Thiago Silva will be back for them and make that hard though, he’s brilliant. That said, if Martial starts, I’m very confident we will win.

We need to get a result here, mainly because I’m tired of hearing how good current flavour of the month and best manager ever in waiting Potter is.

Beat these and we have a nice run of fixtures leading to world cup.
Sheriff H (EL), West Ham H, Sociedad A (EL), Villa A, Villa H (League Cup), Fulham A

After the WC we got Forest H, Wolves A and Bournemouth H. Should hopefully set us up nicely!

Looked very open centrally against Brentford. Could’ve lost 2-0. Problem is we have Rashford to blow the simple chances. Hopefully Martial is back

Away to Stamford Bridge would always be tough game. If we win that one we might have a real chance for top 3.

If Martial is for enough to start then I'd replace Sancho but otherwise, same team. Bit harsh on Eriksen perhaps but I don't think you can drop any of the other 3 after the spurs game.

Would probably go with the same team as Spurs. If he's fully fit, I would bring Martial in for Sancho but equally no need risking him only for him to get injured again so let's see. Hopefully Martial is at least on the bench and can get some minutes with the hope of starting him vs Sheriff or West Ham.

Same team. You can't be that open like we played at City. We need Fred there.

    Eriksen or Bruno to start.

Ten Hag can set the tone right by sending Ronaldo to the stands. I respect the legend but his pathetic and petulant behaviour yesterday just goes to show why ten Hag was happy to let him go. It’s a shame his agent couldn’t find him a willing club because we would have likely ended up with Gakpo.

So far under Potter (in PL and CL), Chelsea have played 7, won 5 and drawn 2 games, conceding only 2 goals so far.

Can't drop Bruno after last night really. Unlucky for eriksen to get ill and lose his place but he has really. Can always come on if needed.

With Reece down, it changes the whole dynamic of this match. I would love to see us get a result here, but definitely not the same with Reece out.

Same team as yesterday. Casemiro and Fred have a good balance in the midfield and what a wonderful problem we have when we are contemplating keeping a player of eriksen's quality on the bench

Last big game in the league before the World cup (Sheriff away, West Ham at home, Sociedad away, Villa twice and Fulham away)

I even think a draw away would be a good result, especially knowing that Chelsea are a bit more consistent than before so it would be a difficult game and as always Stamford Bridge is not a 100% win for us.

Same team, and hopefully a good result.

I understand keeping a winning team but a squad allows different tactics and we aren't at home and won't try and dominate possession, we will look to contain them and counter, I don't think Fred or Sancho have a role here for me, I'd go with:

    DDG
    Dalot Varane Martinez Shaw
    Casemiro Mctominay
    Antony Eriksen Bruno
    Rashford

Lots of big games already this season. But while the earlier one's were more about saving the season after a bad start, this one is about looking up and trying to get settled in the top 4 for the first time. With Spurs playing Newcastle too, a win at Chelsea would be a huge boost, especially with 3 straightforward games before the World Cup and 3 more straightforward games after we get back.

Chelsea is never easy, one of those places we often seem to lose games on bad decisions. That said, we should be confident. We're in good form and Chelsea are still struggling a bit up front. Go with basically the same team as yesterday, other than martial if he rocks up, and I think we're in with a shout.
