Mourinho is a defensive manager. He must have told Lingard to give the ball away so we can show the world our defensive might when Everton get the ball.
Nah, it's just simply our players being brainless/selfish.

I have been one of Jose’s harshest critics and still don’t think he’s the man, however anyone saying that was poor is just being agenda driven. Call it as you see it, it was decent and if we keep going like that we’ll score. Calm down.

In quality there is little to no difference between these two teams and that is really worrying. It just isn´t good enough. It is the same issue of to many players that dosn´t know how to move to create space for their team mates as everyone seemingly want to get the ball at the feet. The passiveness oozes from the entire team as no one really put in the effort to take initiative in Evertons half.

As was the case when Lukaku was playing
I think there is a distinct difference when he leads the line rather than the others. He's not perfect, but for all the he can't hold the ball up, he's a hell of a lot better at it than Rashford or Martial.

And he's not been great on the left either. So can we finally accept we need an upgrade and either keep Martial as a second option or loan him out to develop him.
No. Martial is fine and with better coaching would be lethal. It's up to our manager to help him and Rash ford. Sick of all the let's get rid of everyone when it's clear there's a huge issue here with coaching.

As pundits go, Henry is right up there. Always talks sence and his knowledge of the game is top notch.

Souness on the other hand. Just no.

its not, im a jose fan but do we really deserve to be ahead? We set up with too much respect for the opponent and it always results in a edgy game.
So this set up was too much respect for Everton? Do you know the number of attacking moves we have killed ourselves because of daft decision making and the lack of football brain in our forwards?

Are you even watching this game? It’s been end to end with United managing to turn 4 v 3 counter-attacking move into nothing. The ball ended up in the half-way line.

Come the 60th minute if it's still goalless then both managers will sit back for the draw could make for a dreadful spectacle.

Carragher already chose Rooney as MOM

blimey.... got to sit through a second half. I know I don’t have to watch but it’s like self imposed torture.

Though we are playing ok considering we don’t have our first choice CB (bailly), first choice fullbacks (Valencia and young) first choice striker (lukaku).
Bailly hasn’t played since October? Not sure we can really use his absence for our performance here.

Though I do agree, if we had Valencia at RB we would be doing better, imo. Lindelöf has been fine, but is limited up front

Don't know how people think Rojo is decent, his hack and slash type of defending makes me panic whenever the ball is in our box

We have no variation in our attack because we have no threat down the right. Pretty obvious everything is gonna come down that left side or through the middle.

We have no right side at all tonight - no genuine RW so we never actually threaten and no genuine RB so we look vulnerable.

He is slightly higher than that low bar to be fair.

Why do people call players cowards so often?
Because they seem incapable of realising that it's a lot harder out there then it is watching it on a screen?
You don't play for United in the Premier league as a coward!

Sorry, but how is that enjoyable? Jesus christ it's absolute rubbish.
Perhaps my view is a bit more holistic, even beyond this actual game - but I just think we are set up like an actual modern top football team for the first time in forever. The plan is to use passing and good collective movement - very little hoofing and crossing, and Pogba looks to fit in better for me.

Basically, I can see how a potential evolution into a top team can happen, perhaps with some better players - but we don’t look like West Brom.

Someone said recently....some of us will only appreciate what Valencia offers us when he's not there...
I don't mind admitting I'm one of them.

In summary, we're not playing that well, but it's encouraging to see us exchanging the ball like this.

I know we haven't been in the best of form lately but anything relating to us is seen as negative in the media lately. Even the BBC are in on it, you look at the live reporting on their site and its filled with negativity towards us and Mourinho.

He's a wide forward. Nothing he can do with 2-3 men on him every time the ball is lumped at him.

Not even Drogba in his prime would do anything.
Apparently he is a world class dribbler?
He could try and control a ball first time?

You're never happy with Herrera. It's a damning inditment when a supporter will actively only say bad things about one of our own. He misplays a pass and you're all over him. He plays a very good pass and you ignore it entirely. What does that say?
What you talking about? This is laughable he’s playing like he’s scared of the ball. One good pass big feckin deal what’s he done this season or this 45 minutes. My opinion is formed over his time here not one good or bad pass and so far he’s been underwhelming.

The thing is, I don't think Valencia offers much either but our other options are Championship level.

Can you blame them? Have you seen the state of our fans recently, this thread being a perfect example

Give them the same long run up front and we can talk after.

I doubt that Big Sam has ever faced a Jose line up as bad as this - must fancy his chances to break his Mourinho duck
Everton look as likely as we are to score. So I wouldn't be surprised.
