It was awful but got better after 30/35mins, especially Martial, Herrera and Lingard, so I'd keep them all on. Desparately need a more attacking RB...Blind?

Criminally lack players with brains. I thought Lingard was decent this half but that run where we were 3 on 2 and he sprinted 30 yards completely ignoring Martial making a run (maybe not even ignoring but running towards him...) just to make a stupid shot sums it up.

Not playing too bad. Pity Martial did not control that through ball. Mata has been poor though.

Good half but will be tired in second half. If we can't score in next 10 mins, this will be a draw.

Why are we constantly ignoring Pogba and Shaw?. Herrera and Lindeloff has been not great either.

It's becoming difficult to watch us again.. It's like the LvG years, but without the slight excitement that Falcao or Depay might tear it up.

Game of opinions. Been some of the most enjoyable stuff I’ve seen us play in a while at times. Things haven’t fully come off, but there have been bits of actual quality team football. It’s been more intricate, and not just a series of us working the ball to a full-back to cross.

There is poor quality and no end product from both teams and that's when you get these end to end games. It's like watching two teams in the lower half of the table so far. Decision making in the final third is terrible and the shooting even worse. We must be the worst of the top teams when it comes to technical ability and composure.

We wont win this and we wont win another game until mourinho pulls a finger out his arse and actually gets this team playing the way it should
    There you go.....
It’s not even half time & someone is blaming Jose when Martial can’t control a simple pass when put through on goal.

    Your comment is quite pathetic....

The way we are playing doesn't look like a tired team in a slump following 3 successive draws. It's actually how I think we should be looking to play. Now we are playing with a centre-back at right-back, offering zero going forward and a profligate Herrera (at one point Matic had him wide open but chose not to pass to him, kinda think the players are bothered by his constant shooting).

I'm wondering if Lukaku can fit into this type of style, it's quick movement, quick passing...

But the pundits & some plastic fans blame Jose that he’s too defensive. What do we have to do to score? It’s like none of the players want to take responsibility. They just hide behind safe passes.
Burnley play like exactly how Dyche trains them, now Everton are parking the bus against everyone because that's what Allardyce teaches to his teams, City play like that because that's how Guardiola trains his teams, we bored everyone to death under LvG because that's what he asked of the players, similarly Moyes. Why is it different for Mourinho? Why are the players blamed here? may be Mourinho has no idea what to do with his team?

 the opinions on how we played that half couldn't be more polar.

Lingard pogba Herrera all good that half

Martial needs to do more, appears so lazy and as usual will be subbed for sure

Mata again holds us back, he cuts inside with sideways passing and offers zero penetration. That said he is not a right winger.

Hopefully we get a goal and don't try to defend it and end up conceding penalty to get Rooney.

Matic needs a rest he looks shot !

Everton clearly targeting Lindelof as the weak link. Not sure we can hang on for another 45 mins but maybe a goal on the break, who knows?

Defence look a little shaky, Rojo luckily playing well.

    Herrera and Matic anonymous.

    Lingard at least trying,

Mata relatively poor. Martial letting himself down with his touch.

Pogba doing well - just needs to stop shooting from 8.6 nautical miles.

Mata is useless. He cannot now even put a decent cross in. He is so slow too that even when it is 60/40 in his favour he doesnt get the ball. I am getting rather fed up with him.
Jose should take him off and for that matter anyone, even Mikhi would be better than him from what he has done in the first half.

Watching this makes me feel like we've got the wrong manager for this group of players.

The combination play between martial, Pogba and lingard is great at times. Add Rashford and an on-form mkhi into that and you've got the potential for a really fluid, interchangeable attacking unit.

Instead JM wants to stick a giant target man in the middle of it (as it's what he's always done) and make each player stick to a fixed position, when it doesn't suit anyone apart from Lukaku. That's not a criticism of JM - he's had plenty of success playing this way - just that maybe his way of playing isn't optimal for this team.

We haven't been perfect today, but you can see the seeds of something coming together. Hopefully JM sticks with it.

But it's fine to criticise him for one bad one. :lol:Use your eyes man. He's the one pushing through ball into the narrow spaces in midfield. Instead of taking 8 touches to pass it he's moving it quickly. By all means criticise him when he's playing bad, but this is getting a little sad. Been our best midfielder so far.
Come on you’re normally a sensible poster if you are happy with Herrera this game then there is no point continuing this conversation as we are polls apart in our thinking.
Sorry mate as far as I’m concerned Herrera Lingard Mata Rojo Blind Darmain are all for the exit the sooner the better if we want to start competing for titles.

Bit average so far, but we know we're in a rough patch, and we have a lot of players out.
Interesting thing on the commentary is hearing their views on Rooney. Praising him for "finding space", even though it's about 60 yards from goal and hitting aimless balls wide.

Remember the days when we had that each game!

I don't know how anyone can watch the striker performances of Ibra, Rashford and now Martial and still think we're better off without Lukaku.

Have absolutely no focal point to the attack at the moment.

We need to up the tempo a little bit before Everton wake up. So far Everton have rolled over and asked for their tummy to be tickled and we haven't even done that.

We will have only our inept self to blame if we don't win. We can't even seem to throw the proverbial Kitchen sink in the last 15 minutes as we are too shagged. Oh let's just hope for some new year miracle as our mortals are clearly incapable!!

its not, im a jose fan but do we really deserve to be ahead? We set up with too much respect for the opponent and it always results in a edgy game.
