Looks like we are running out of ideas already can see this ending 3 or 4-1. It's a question of when not if fellaini will be sent off so hopefully he comes off at half time, young has been waste of time as well.

Everton have got their game plan right today and they are good at defending leads so a point would be great, top four could get a bit tight again if liverpool beat hull midweek.

    Halftime thoughts;

De Gea has been appalling. Done next to nothing right. What is he doing out there? His head is turned and if he keeps this up, then we might as well cut our losses. Looks like he's reverted back to his earlier form when he first arrived causing a sense of panic and calamity at the back.

Our defenders have been pretty good in general. Valencia and Shaw have provided width and an outlet going forward and Smalling as he's been recently has been a rock at the back. McNair has done ok but was poor for the goal.

Blind has been the worst player on the pitch and was also to blame for the goal. So weak. Clearly his head is not in on it and that may be down to being unfit or other reasons but he's like a sieve at the moment. Every Everton attack is going through him.

Our midfield in general has been pretty poor. Herrera keeps losing the ball and Mata has done his best impression of pub Rooney holding on to the ball for far too long. Young and Fellaini have been anonymous, and the latter looks like he'll get sent off at any given opportunity.

Rooney has done well holding up play when he does get it but the nutters behind him have starved him of service.

All in all, we've been poor and this performance wouldn't look out of place earlier on in the season. In fact, the game is reminiscent of the Leicester one where the opposition look like scoring every time they go forward and that the ref is a homer.

What's that bloke from Sky on? Been an awful game so far and I'm not just saying that because I'm a United fan. I actually thought last week was a good match despite losing.

Red has given the Everton players the impetus by not calling fouls. They feel they can be overly aggressive and get away with it. Same as Leicester away.

Not really, you guys have been worse over the course of the season. This 5 game run 3 games of which you were brilliant has created a false view. You are still a fair way off the top level.
Rubbish. Do you really think we deserve to be 2-0 down here and aren't playing well?

The United of August - January has returned. Possession, possession, more possession, no cutting edge and error-prone defending. Whatever momentum was built up during the Spurs, Liverpool, City games has evaporated.

Poor performance but I don't think we deserve to be down by 2 goals. Blind is really struggling today and doesn't look 100% fit.

We haven't had a decent comeback game in awhile. Today would be good.

Our midfield three has been shit and the wingers, too. Our opportunities aren't clear at all.

Even the Swedish commentators are calling Everton game-raising cnuts*

*I might have interpreted the cnut part in, but it was implied.

Fact is, we are two down and goals win games. We have done the same to Arsenal for years and laughed at them for falling for it.

Valencia and Mata are the only bright spots. Scary how much we rely on Carrick both offensively and defensively. Herrera, Rooney, Shaw, and Fellaini have been poor. Fellaini for di Maria if LvG is in the mood?

I hope Falcao is on for Fellaini and Di Maria on for either Mata or Young. Every man and his dog knows Fellaini is going to pick up a red if he stays on.

It really does feel like Carrick is the difference. Still, I expect us to come back.
Narrative-driven, that. We've conceded goals because Valencia left his brain at home and McNair ducked out of a tackle. Carrick may have prevented the first counter attack, but his loss hasn't impacted on the flow of the game that much.

Blind needs to be doing more off the ball considering he's the holding midfielder. He's just charging around and being left for dead half the time. We'd be better off with Rooney in midfield at this point.

definitely need some classy strong with a little more pace than Blind defender, Blind is maybe after a knock but these counters will cost us more with him as he's very slow to get back and tends to get outmuscled often, his passing also off today. Carrick would do a better job or Herrera there but not enough dept in the squad and cover for Herrera in no8 position cost us some points.. fellaini please, stop being frustrating and be awesome again.. '

    Barkley's been immense btw

A performance is not a proper performance if you don't sit in your own box. Dominating possession is for shite teams. Or something.

I dont think you deserve to be 2-0 down but 1-0 would be fair, they have been dangerous and United have been wasteful and poor at the back.

I think Mcnair has a good future but that attempt to tackle Mccarthy was absolutely piss poor.

Young, Mata, Herrera and Rooney have been good enough.

    The rest, not so much.

Get Blind and Fellaini off for Pereira and Van Persie.

Think he'll make a couple of changes. Di Maria must come on and I wouldn't be surprised to see Falcao either if I'm honest.

We've been fairly clinical all season, and the very time when we've clicked as a team, we aren't taking chances. It's quite frustrating.

Meltdown threads popping up all over the place. People need to chill the feck out. Of course we could be doing a lot better, but we still look far better than I ever thought we would at any stage this season. If we build on this with a few tweaks, a few new signings and next season we will be right back up there again.

Of course a loss today makes things uncomfortable for top 4, but I'm still confident we'll hold onto it.

It's impossibile to score with this line up.

If the 4141 worked sometimes it doesn't mean you have to play with this lineup every game even without the right players.
