Awesome goal, pretty good first 10-15minutes, very pleased with Mainoo. Everything else is pretty dire. We are the slightly worse of two bad teams playing against each other.

When you see that half from Rashford and McTominay in particular. And Bruno and Lindelof but they are less subbable. What the feck is the point in letting them go out again?

What are you expecting to change?

I'm beginning to think that there's some correlation between Rashy's performances and his relationship status. I'm pretty certain that he was banging them in when he was with his missus but whenever there's been any domestics he's been moping around the pitch and just not at it.

    I could be wrong?
He was pictured with her just a day ago and still crap so there’s that.

It's odd, because moving wings shouldn't mean you lose the ability to pass the ball.
Even when he moved to the left on occasions, he was equally awful. Something is not right with his head it seems. How can one regress so much over 2 months? Drop him till he earns his place back. And sack Eth while we are at it.

Garnacho gave us the perfect platform with a goal that should live long in the memory. However, after a good first 20 minutes we fell apart.

For some reason, midway through the first half, we stopped trying to play football and started going very direct. The game became you hit it long, we hit it long, you hook the aerial away, we hook the aerial away. That's massively suited Everton and, to be frank, they should be level but for some s-t finishing. Calvert-Lewin has even had a free header on the edge of our six yard box.

We should be able to put the game to bed if we get the ball into Mainoo in midfield. However, Lindelof's use of the ball has been really bad. Hopefully Martinez isn't far from full fitness. Otherwise we have to make a judgement call over whether to play Shaw at left centre back and give someone else a go at left back.

Good for the first 20 minutes. World class goal and held Everton to one shot on goal and just 80 passes they had. Since then it was all Everton weathered the purple patch/storm to end to half time leading 1-0. Need experienced heads and leaders to step up to claim the three points 2nd half. Main player that step up in that 1st half an 18 year old Kobbie Mainoo.

Fairly poor. Hanging on for dear life in front of goal at times. It's only a matter of time before they get one.

World class goal for Nacho, though.

Mainoo being made to do so much in there, getting away with it so far the boy needs more help , worldie goal then getting pressed at the back losing the ball.

Martial is doing feck all because we can't get hold of the ball long enough in the final 3rd.. lindelof Maguire having way to much possession... what wrong with a few long passes to Rashford or Martial.. there crossing as soon as they can ..

Everton score next we lose. Subs need to be made or we’ll get what we’ll deserve.

Tactically every game we look bereft of any coaching.

I dont want to go over the top with the mainoo praise but how composed is the 18 year old in a hostile game. Just a shame some of our other players aren't half as composed.

The lad looks like he could be a real player. His football brain already looks years ahead of his age. Maybe I went over the top but I'm impressed.

The less said about lindelof Bruno rashford mct and martial in the first half the better though.

We look like a non-league team drawn against a Premiership team in a cup tie.

No control, being pressed, bullied and easily outmuscled and nudged off the ball, all over the pitch.
We have no way of playing out and starting to control the game.
Any breakouts are just improvised and disjointed.

And ten Hags structure is fecking terrible. Back to this 3 and 1 build up that hasn’t worked all season and leaves monster gaps in the middle b
The first 10 mins when Utd were playing well McT was closer to Mainoo. Then for the rest of the half back to the dogshit 4-1-4-1.

Only Mainoo seems to have the football ability to turn and run forward with the ball.
The rest can only play the way they are facing.

What a difference when you have an athletic, quick footed DM. Now ETH has to convince the rest of the players to use Mainoo more.

    Garnacho!

I would rather have some 18 year old striker play than Martial. Do we have anyone?

Bruno has 2 unforced giveaways which is okay for him.

Varane for Lindelof. Yeah he’s out of form but Lindelof has been abysmal

Pellistri for Rashford. The latter reaching his minblowing lows. How does he keep getting starts. Dog s hi t

I’d even put Mjebri on for McT

Garnacho's goal was amazing and Mainoo's been very good. No other positives tbh. Everton should be winning. ETH needs to change something.
Lindelof improving in the second half alone will make the difference because he's been very poor in the first half and hence our build up is suffering.

    Pluses,
    absolute goal of the century.
    Mainoo has been excellent.

    negatives
since the goal we have been battered. Everton had 4-5 good chances.
we are getting over run in midfield.

We need to switch tactics and the team up second half or eventually Everton will get a gial and then we normally concede again in quick time.

Amrabat needs to come on, id hook scott or even matial and play Rashford through the middle with Bruno wide.

I've just accepted that Utd players just cannot play controlled football and no matter who manages them, will continue to frustrate the hell out of you. Even an incompetent finishing side like Everton will eventually score given the wave after wave of attacks they are making.

After the goal, only Mainoo and Maguire have been worth their salt. And yeah lets not go too over the top with Mainoo though, he's been good but not magnificent as some are claiming; he's still had some of the regular United midfield moments.

Moments FC and to be honest it was a hell of a moment.

Saying that ETH is a fraud. Our passing and passing out from the back is no better than it was under Ole. Mainoo has come in and looks the best player on the ball but we know the drill in a few weeks he’ll look like the rest.
Moments fc and fraud hopefully someone will ban those words

The problem is in midfield where the only player who can put their foot on the ball is Mainoo. Bruno trying so many first time killer balls, he just constantly gives it away. He needs to play simpler and know when to try the killer pass. McTominay is McTominay. Work rate but not much else. Doesn’t have any real trechnival ability and as such we can’t keep the ball.

We have no intensity and I suspect our fitness is actually pretty shite.

Watching the Everton players sprint around closing us down is night and day to our midfield approach of ‘stand in some space’.

If we win this, it’s actually upsetting to think these guys will then think playing like this is acceptable.
If an Everton defender gets the ball, most of the time they look up and make a quick pass forward to a midfielder teammate… as most PL teams do (and yes, sometimes they lose it).

Ours look up, pause, let an opponent close us down then pass to the CH who slowly passes it to Onana who’s then under pressure.

Then you watch our goal (defender, long pass to the wing, little pass, cross, goal). All quick and decisive.

Why do we stop trying that?!

We're crap and we aren't gonna get away with this. We're defending like a relegation fighting team and inviting pressure. It'd help if our best players are doing well, but Rashford completely forget how to play football, no joke, he just tries random shit at this point. Bruno has been terrible. Maino has been solid, he makes himself available and all in all is decent. Mct is crap, I know he can nick a goal, but we need someone to drive our play forward, none of our midfielders are doing that.

I'd sub Rashford with AWB, and push Dalot forward. It'll be better than what we're having now. Hannibal should come in for Mct, and anyone on the bench should come in for Martial.

I find it quite staggering when we are approaching 2024 and we are still starting with Maguire, Lindelof and McTom.

Literally are whole back 4 and midfield apart from Mainoo want to pass the ball backwards and safe, literally every time.

They literally crap the bed every time they are near the ball.

We would be at top if VAR and refs didn't do what they did against Arsenal, Tottenham, ManCIty and Crystal Palace.
Which is fecking ridiculous given how shite we have been.

Doesn't say much for the standard of the league.

it was when Onana started having a kickabout with the defenders and kept kicking it into touch when we started playing bad, like wtf? why? something has changed in training and the way EtH wants us to play, whatever it is, why cant he see its not working and go back to what they were doing last season. He's going to get the sack, surely he wants to keep his job?
