Urgh, this lot again. Sick of seeing them and that cap-wearing Kloppelganger. Also didn't realise it was away at that spaceship of a ground that's had about 20 names since it was built.

Sanchez owes a few of their lumps a good kicking. Hope he delivers. A win would be good too.
Wagner is quite open that he'll get his players to take him down.

“If he will be on the pitch then we try to defend him and if this means sometimes he is too quick, we have to foul him,” he added.
“It is not something that we like to do but this happens and it is because he is a top-quality player.”

If we go out of the cup I can see us going into a right slump. Would you trust Darmian in this game. I bloody wouldn't. He is off in the summer and knows it. He couldn't care less.
No I wouldn't throw him in there. But I'd want to rest Pogba, Matic, Martial and Sanchez. Our best players basically. Would prefer to rest Tony also tbh, Lindelof could play there.

If Mourinho has any sense he should be all over these comments in his presser. Make sure the referee takes note of any persistent fouling and books accordingly.

Not looking forward to this one, fecking awful bunch of thugs. Can only hope the ref does his job and we get out without any injuries.

    Absolutely dislike this lot.

Would play De Gea as Romero hasn't looked confident the last few times I seen him play.

Would also not play Smalling, as he likes a grab in the penalty area and with the VAR, he is sure to get caught out.

    Indeed.
I also noticed this at Spurs.
Because the opponents could not handle Sanchez, they resorted to hacking him down. Which is okay, as it means we get a free kick, but eventually Sanchez is going to sustain an injury. We can't afford Sanchez to be getting kicked off the pitch like this.

Regarding our line-ups, given that our highly paid superstars find it difficult to get themselves revved up for games against lesser sides, I would be tempted to bring in 3 youth players into the first team. I know Jose won't do this, but if I had may way, Pogba and 2 other regular first teamers would start from the bench, allowing McTomminay, Gomez and one other youth player to make starts.

Jose seriously needs to do something about the lack of passion from some of our players.
If Huddersfield turn on the passion, they'll win, because I know that our team cannot handle players who play with passion.

For those who say that our squad lacks quality, dead wood, etc - IMO, our squad is now as good as any other side in the league, (MCFC, excepted).
When we lost to Huddersfield, Newcastle and Spurs, they simply played with more vigour. Their players simply wanted it more than ours.

We're going to earn a replay in a hard fought game. 1-1
I actually wouldn't be too angry if that happened. Of course we should get the job done but it's good for us that even if things don't go to plan we can have a game at OT to fall back on.

Perfect time and mood to go out or draw and get a replay.
With our squad, I expect a clean and safe performance with a quick goal and another two goals on the counter in the second half. Reality will look different i guess.

I may have a ticket in the home end... should be interesting!
Hudds fans are a friendly lot in general, and hate Leeds as much as we do. More these days.

The Magic Rock Brewery Tap is between the town centre and the ground. Strongly recommended.

Not sure if I'd fancy the home end though :nervous:

I just barely remember the Old Leeds Road ground from going there when I was 6/7... now that had some charm, even if it was a dump.

Yeah Town fans are fine mostly, most of my mates support them (well either them or Leeds)! So it should be decent enough.

I only live about 15 minutes away from the ground, so I can actually leave for a game less then an hour beforehand... Which is a nice change!

That selection will be completely overrun in midfield.

An inexperienced midfielder who has yet to show creative potential and a defensive midfielder! Mata who lacks pace, Rash and Alexis will need to be doing the damage further up the pitch but will be chasing back...

    Can't see it.

    I'd go with

    Herrera-Matic

    Pogba

    Sanchez- Martial

    Lukaku

At least the back 4 will have some protection

Eurgh. At least we now understand why he wasn't involved against Newcastle.

I'm genuinely worried we'll get outmuscled/passioned/booted off the field. We need some balls in that midfield for sure, and some fecking composure at both ends of the pitch.

This is going to be one hell of a scrap, they have beat us one there already this season , they will be wanting to make it 2.
I think this is going to be a very scrappy 0-1 or 1-2 , but play like we did against Newcastle we will be out on our arse.

Romero, Mata, Rashford, Darmian, all in if fit.. Maybe Rashford and Alexis have some chemistry, hell wouldn't be the first one.

    Should play like this

    Romero
    Darmian - Lindelof - Rojo - Shaw
    Carrick - Scott - Pogba
    Mata - Sanchez
    Martial
I really don't give a feck about this game, just want it to pass quickly for the upcoming games. Our situation in the league and CL is critical and make hard to concentrate on this cup.

We need to play football. We need to show that we are Man Utd and not Huddesfield. What is the point in having the better players (by a country mile) if we reduce the match to a question of getting outmucled or getting booted of the field? If we can not PLAY Huddersfield off the park, we don´t deserve to win. My opinion.

Reckon that this one will be a difficult one. I would go for a tricky 1-2 for us (or a replay)

it was difficult two weeks ago at OT to break them, and I remember the away game... so scary, and after a poor performance against the magpies, we can see another poor one.

I would rotate a bit but not much for this one. Pogba seems injured, Valencia and De Gea at home and I would continue Jones and Smalling as they will have to cope with a lot of long balls and aerial duals.

We could do with a win. It would be a great boost to their confidence before other crucial games. Lose and all the bad publicity and inquests it brings and their confidence could be on the floor.

Point taken, we should have far too much for them and it would be a sad state of affairs if we went in to this expecting anything other than a win.

However we should expect a very specific kind of test in which we can expect muscle, passion and physicality approaching and exceeding the line of acceptability could be at the forefront. We may outplay them and blow them off the field but it's possible we could find our determination and work ethic wanting, be wasteful up front and panicky at the back (like last weekend) and find ourselves in a real scrap.

I except to win this match comfortably but also wouldn't be surprised if it's made difficult by their spoiling tactics and/or our poor attitude.

1-0 to them. Mourinho to field a side playing 4231 full of players in the wrong positions.

    Losing to Comeback Winning!
Perfect time to play Rojo and give Lindelof chance to impress.

Expecting similar rough play from Huddersfield, and it's about time our players are not faze with it and win!

Incoming more toxic threads if we lose.

The last thing we need is a replay. Hopefully we get a win, and hoping for a good performance too, we need a morale booster.

Eh? This is our only realistic chance of a trophy this season. Play full strength please.

Need a strong team tbh, need our confidence high before Sevilla.
Yep, don't understand people saying players need a rest. They've had full weeks off the last few weeks, and are out of form, so if anything need to get some confidence back (not that huddersfield can give you much of that). What I would say is some players should be dropped, tactics changed a bit, etc., but not rested.

I expect a shit performance and an injury to one of our important players because it's what we have been doing and getting as a result in the last few years. Get a run of some nice results and then crumble at the most important times, getting injuries or suspensions to our best players. It's inevitable since December.

I know it goes against the idea of counting trophies - and trophies only - but a quarter/semi-final in the CL might do us more good in the long run than picking up another FA cup and doing nothing in Europe. Anyway, in the last few years, the bottom clubs of the PL seem to be fielding League 2 quality sides in the FA cup. Not really worried about this one.

The quote below pretty much elaborates on my position. Plus, Huddersfield are a team of thugs. I mainly do not want to see our players picking up injuries against a side that can only foul as a means of "staying in the game". And I'm sure we'll get another inept referee allowing a shit side to not play football.

Frankly, I don't care about the FA Cup. I do care about momentum though, I would agree that being humiliated (which I cannot see happening) would be pretty terrible preparation for Sevilla.
