Funny how Jose would give anything to that Juve squad instead, I'm certain Allegri would get depressed coaching the defence we have, sad how delusional the lot of you are.
Don't mind them, they think buying one of the best players in the world makes no difference, just do some attacking coaching and anyone can be as good as Ronaldo

Only Pogba and De Gea get into that Juve team, their back 4 is miles better than ours, their attack is miles better than ours. The only place we can compete is midfield because of Pogba.

    De Gea
    Young - Smalling - Lindelof - Rojo/Bailly - Shaw
    Herrera - Matic - Pogba
    Martial - Sanchez
Let's be honest, 0-0 is the best we can hope for here. Pack the defense and midfield and hope that somehow Sanchez and Martial can catch them on the counter, otherwise take the draw and focus on the remaining two games.

Cancelo is definetly not top class defensively, Benta is actually excellent defensively
I wouldn't call Bentacur excellent in terms of his defensive play. He's a forward passing/thinking player. Allegri gets the best defensive contributions out of his players, no doubt. But he has to cover for a marauding RB and thats not his forte.

Jose did say he was injured, didn't he. After the Bournemouth game.

I do not think that Juve are that strong. In fact, I do not see any super favourite to win CL this year. If not for Jose's "super cautious" tactics, I'd fancy us to bet them over two legs. Squad for squad, player for player, I do not see any big difference. Mou though, is a huge difference.
What a ridiculous post. I'm not sure we have more than 3 players who would get anywhere near their squad. De Gea, Pogba and maybe one more but I can't even name that one more now.

You seriously don't see big difference between Smalling, Jones, Bailly and Lindelof and Barzagli, Bonucci, Benatia, Chiellini and Rugani?

We have no midfield lets really get that right...We have Pogs who plays AM on the left and behind him you can walk was you please.

Two more games to go on our toughest period of the season yet. Most of us expected us to be worst than what's happened. Happy that we're starting producing some nice results with good attacking play. I think we could nick a win against Juventus if the Shaw, Martial , Pogba connection continues.

Juve have a lot of injuries, especially in midfield. They haven’t looked great recently so it won’t be as tough of a game as many are expecting.

They’ll probably win anyway because that’s what they do but it won’t be a dominating performance.

I would disagree, if you look at his defensive stats in Manchester or in any of the games he played this year except vs Genoa he has consistently been the best at intercepting balls on the pitch, he plays in front of the defense or as a defensive midfielder. As a matter of fact Allegri has been hammering him since last year to improve his passes making them more vertical and quicker and to increase his runs forward because he tended to limit those

Juve is a bit overrated, I watch them in Serie A and they're not that impressive as of late. I think a draw is certainly obtainable and I wouldn't be surprised if we win.
Haven't they won virtually all their games played this season?

Wish we were well versed in counter attacks. A nice counter would split this Juve team nicely.
Our team is slow when counter attacking (taking extra touches and stopping our own counter attackers), though without Lukaku, we could do it.
If we have a front 3 of Martial, Sanchez and Lingard - these 3 could absolutely run end-to-end in about 10-15 seconds, with the ball.
As you said, a counter attack would definitely split Juve wide open.

Mate, all I'm going to say is that Juve will most certainly be going deep in the CL and should be classed as one of the favourites.
    They have a great team.

Why do some MUFC fans believe that our squad is great?
Our best squads of the past have always had a great striker. Yorke/Cole. Rooney. RVN. Tevez, etc.
Our current striker would not make the starting XI of any of our previous trophy winning sides under SAF. In fact, I don't think he'd even make the bench!
The same goes for our CBs - there is no leader.
Anyway, you get my drift - our squad is not as good as people on here believe.

Obviously need a win here but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world. Young Boys and Valencia games are still must win games.
Agreed. And that's exactly what Jose is thinking.

Pool made a CL final last year. I would say that our squad is as good as theirs. However, our coaching is much worse than theirs. Our squad is definetely as not as bad as it shows. Jose bought most of those players and he needs to deliver. Hopefully, he does. However, I doubt he will ever reach a CL semi final never mind a final with us.

8 defenders and arguably the best GK in the game and still the most dodgy porous defense of any top club.
We have 8 defenders in our squad tonight and yet we've still conceded lots of goals this season.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Screw logical sentences.

Thought this was tonight. Was just refreshing United’s twitter feed like an idiot. Thought our bus had broken again and we had been delayed or something

    Young--Smalling--Lindelof--Shaw
    Herrera--Matic--Pogba
    Rashford--Sanchez--Martial

subs: Romero; Bailly, Darmian; Fred, Pereira; Mata, Lingard.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to see a back three.

Yes, but lately they've been barely getting over the line. With the usual referee help. Inter and Napoli look more convincing at this moment in time.
    Referee help. Right.

The referees want to help us so much that they denied us a penalty for a clear (voluntary) touch with an arm inside the box. Denied it after looking it with the VAR.

Shoulder he said, though I didn’t know shoulders were at the height of the elbow.

Not at all. I dont agree with your assessment. Of course he has to cover the entire right side for Cancelo therefore his stats are bound to be high. Hes nearly the last line of defense at times with CB. Therefore even though his sats might say so, I've watched him play for Juve and Uruguay enough to know that breaking up play is not his natural instinct. Even for Uruguay it's Vecino who plays DM not Bentacur. Bentacur is given the responsibility to pass the ball and playmake.

Cagliari should have gotten a penalty for the Benatia handball

Cagliari nearly found themselves gifted a goal in the 16th minute when Benatia made an inexplicable pass that was easily intercepted in the defensive third. A minute later, Benatia very nearly gave them another gift when he headed a cross into his own hand in the penalty area. Cagliari’s players screamed for a review, and Mariani eventually obliged them. It’s not often that a ball that hits a player’s hand after it hits another body part is called, but Benatia’s hand wasn’t exactly in a natural position and if it hadn’t hit it the ball was heading right for a Cagliari player looking to attack the ricochet. Eventually, Mariani emerged from the screen and signaled for Cagliari to take the corner kick they had earned, but the call could have gone the other way.

433 with Sanchez up top. Think Matic and Mata will make way. Have a sneaky feeling we'll grab a result. Hope I'm not just being overly optimistic.

in which universe? do you know the rules or you just say it for the sake of it? Benatia hits with his head and the ball bounces off to his arm that is in a legitimate position it is never a penalty, well of course unless you are a prescritto refereeing a Juve game that is

Don't really expect much from this so anything would be a bonus to take into the derby. At least it's likely a practice run for how we're going to set up at the weekend too.

Our defenders can't defend against a fast attacker who is intent on shooting at goal.
I saw this ever since the LVG days, which is why LVG (and now Jose) played with DMs, protecting the defenders.
During the LVG reign, our opponents, once past our midfield, used to go through our defenders like a hot knife through butter, forcing DDG to make match winning saves.
It's as if our defenders are not even there.
These days, our midfield is set up to play with more attacking focus, leaving our defenders exposed, so they are forced to defend (which they struggle to do).

I know I'm in the minority but I feel we have a team capable of beating this Juve team. I've watched them a lot this season and they're really nothing special at all. Jose has done a spectacular job convincing everyone we're crap and lowered expectations so much even the mere we no feel Burnley going against any big team

Yeah...many DM's and still the opponents attackers just run at our defenders just like that.
