Not going to make a prediction but I won't be surprised if the title-winning Leicester suddenly reappear...

I think we can afford to start Maguire for this one. Chelsea beat them with 10 so I don't see why we can't.
Maguire was humiliated at leicester last season.

If he's not giving everything to get selected this week, then he clearly isn't captain material.

Expecting same back 4, Casemiro-Fred starting and Antony as well.

Rest Eriksen if possible, give some playing time to youngsters and VDB.

Score draw incoming. Leicester will game raise and we’re starting to improve so will meet in the middle. 2-2

Just win to keep up the momentum, please. Whatever kind of win will do. If we need to thrash someone, Arsenal is up next!

Sancho much better on the left and Rashford & Elanga aren't useful without space in behind:

    DDG
Dalot Varane Martinez Malacia (Back 5 cannot be changed)
    Bruno Casemiro Eriksen
    Garnacho Ronaldo Sancho
    —————————DdG———————-

    —Dalot--Lindelof—-martinez-Shaw

    —————Casemiro—-Fred————-

    ———————Bruno————————-

    ———-Eriksen—————Sancho——

    ——————-Garnacho——————-

    score:1-3(Garnacho, Eriksen, Bruno)
    Why? It isn't happening.

    Fred Casemiro

    Ronaldo

    0-2 - Ronaldo x2

Defense should be the same, let them keep improving and get used to play together. Fred and Casemiro needs to start as they are used to play from the national team. Eriksen needs a rest and Martial is not ready for 90min.

I had initially picked Varane but have a bad feeling Maguire starts this game due to the short turn around against Arsenal on Sunday. We have to manage Varane’s minutes.

I can't see it ending as anything but a United victory. We can beat them in 3rd gear given the state they're in.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you. We are a mess right now !!

What's the obsession with Fred? He started the first two games and got hooked at half time on both occasions. If Eriksen doesn't start, we'd more likely see a pivot of Casemiro and McTominay than Casemiro and Fred. I understand the latter play together for Brazil but in the last two games, McTominay has been solid and based on performances, doesn't deserve to be benched.
I agree McT has been playing well, but also see sense in bringing Fred in.

With Casemiro playing, Fred won’t have to spend anything like as much time in his own half. He’s massively more effective (and less error prone) further forward.

Squad depth is really thin. As soon as you remove a starter you realize how much we drop in quality.

    I'm expecting the following XI;

    DDG
    Dalot ---------------- Varane ---------------- Martinez ---------------- Malacia
    Casemiro
    Fred ----------------- Bruno
    Sancho -------------------------------------------------------- Rashford
    Ronaldo

How come we have 6 games in 17 days? That's one game every 2.8 days ffs. We ain't got a squad for that.

With Casemiro in the lineup, we might afford to rest Varane for Lindeloff or dare I say it, Maguire. However, giving the above defense with Casemiro in the holding role before Sunday would be better. Take Varane off after we're comfortably ahead against Leicester.

I don't think Ronaldo starts this even if he's still here.

    Dalot
    Varane
    Martinez
    Malacia

    Casemiro
    Fred

    Sancho
    Bruno
    Elanga

    Rashford

don’t change the back 5 after we kept a clean sheet,
Casemiro to start and Fred to come in for Eriksen who’se blowing.

Antony probably won’t have his work permit through.

Leicester are something like 15/16th for net spend over the past 4/5 seasons, he's been set up to fail.
All the praising of the Leicester owner and players celebrating with him etc, I don't get it. He's one of the stingiest owners in the league.

There is a sense of confidence returning . If we had Martial available I think we would have won this comfortably. Leicester are in a bad run of form whilst ours is on a upturn.

Anything can happen ,,but one thing is I am not dreading watching United play like last season. Casemiro- Varane - Martinez is a formidable Unit to get past!

Winning is the only thing that counts. The manner does not matter in a context of matches in quick succession.

Besides, I just want us to send Brendan Rodgers a step closer to unemployment.

This feels like a game where we will rotate some for fitness and bring in Maguire which will inevitably be a mistake.

    De Gea
    AWB Maguire Martinez Shaw
    Fred Casemiro
    Bruno
    Elanga Rashford Sancho
A dropping always did him well and who knows, maybe he’ll score a header!

Will probably be the more or less the same team as against Saints with Casemiro starting this one. Perhaps Fred in for Eriksen.

We will rotate heavily even the defense, won't we? I wonder if he's going to change almost everyone so that players can be fit for Arsenal.

Do we have an update on the situation with Martial's injury?

I would go something like this:

    DDG
    AWB, Lisandro, Maguire, Shaw
    Casemiro
    Fred, Bruno
    Sancho, Ronaldo, Rashford

Just pump them up so that they can be intense in the first 30mn and score and see the game out.

We have to be the same level of intensity than against Liverpool for Arsenal.

We need a high intensity against Arsenal, they ran pretty well from the beginning of this season.
So, a rotation of the lineup is a must, at least Eriksen should take a rest

I hope not. Maguire and Shaw have done nothing to deserve a place in this team and Malacia, Varane and Martinez are developing a fine understanding.

    Best 11 to start.
Rashford NOT as CF. Please, just NO. Offers nothing in that position (see Southampton for his demonstration of how to be a passenger)
    Best from wide positions.
Might even go with Elanga at RW for his work rate.

    --------------------------- Ronaldo -----------------------------
    - Sancho -------------------------------------- Rashford -
    ----------------------------- Bruno -------------------------------
    ----------- Casemiro --------------- Eriksen ---------------
    ---- Malacia ---------------------------------------- Dalot ---
    -------------------- Martinez ----- Varane ------------------

ETH had said Martial possibly available next game, so hopefully he is. If not then Ronaldo should start if still here.

Other than that Casemeiro and Fred should take up the midfield slots, they've played together, so it won't be a sudden thing and Eriksen needs a breather to be ready for Arsenal on Sunday. Other than that, rest of these lot should be fit enough these next 2 games back to back - think about rotating 1 or 2 of them after that.

Reading that Antony passed his medical yesterday around 20.00 and showed be official around 13.00 today, paperwork (all of them) will be sent today and if it gets approved before tomorrow afternoon then he will be available for this game. Would be great if ge can get 25-30 minutes then 1-2 trainings before the Arsenal game.

was he? with who? I though Poch was the clear favourite with most fans here either agreeing or going for ETH (as I did). Rogers was worthy of consideration and probably on a list of five or six but I don't think any more than that

I think it will be a bit risky to start Casemiro with Eriksen in midfielder here. I'd go with Casemiro and Scott in the starting line up and Eriksen to come on in later stage. Defense stays the same, Martial when do we have news about him?
