    A must win game.

Sadly, i don't see us winning at all. We are the exact opposite from them currently. They will gang up on us all over the pitch with outrunning and outfighting us, winning every 50/50, while we will sit back and never get going. Our only hope is they are shit in front of goal, but in terms of hassling/pressing/running/tempo, we have no chance with this current team and setup. They are very good in big games under Klopp, while we look unstable and a bit clueless under Mourinho in general so far. We still haven't found our team and style, while Liverpool have, just like Spurs. I can see this game being a copy of yesterdays game between City and Spurs in all honesty, that is not a good thing.
The problem with playing in a set style is it can be sussed and Liverpool don't have a plan B. If (maybe a big if) we can make it through the first 35-40 mins without conceding they will be knackered and frustrated and I think we'll win. There's been plenty of evidence of how to beat the press in the last few weeks, hope we learn from it.

I am wondering how Herrera-Pogba-Mata would do to counter Liverpool's pace based pressing set up, considering we won't have a physical presence in the midfield who can muscle them off the ball.

On the same note, I wonder how Liverpool's no-DM based approach would affect them if and when we counter them.

If we go with Pogba-Herrera-Mata in midfield (with Pogba allowed to get forward) and play like we did against Leicester this will be a hell of a game of football, and once which we could probably win. However Jose has struggled with Klopp in the past, and I don't imagine that changing any time soon.

Liverpool are athletic, fast, agile and press with great tempo. There's isn't a match this season that the slow and technically deficient Fellaini is less suited for.

If either Rooney or Fellaini plays we will lose.
Agreed. May as well put them in a Liverpool shirt.

I'd rather he didn't play, but if it's a midfield two vs a three including Fellaini I know which I'd prefer.

Schneiderlin and Carrick don't seem to be getting a look in.

I'd have Martial and Mkhitaryan in for Rashford and Lingard. Rashford off the bench if we really need a result.

Form goes out of the window in these games. I just hope we can get the three points.

I hope to god that half the posters on here are going to the game. The negativity would sicken the most positive of people.

Expecting a cracker of a game. Tough fixture but still winnable.

It's all about damage limitation. If we only lose by two goals, it would be a fantastic result.

We're gonna get destroyed. Their team will be well up for it, the atmosphere will be incredible, and we'll be atrocious. I expect Rooney and Fellaini to start, and it'll finish 4-0 or 5-0 to Liverpool.
Put them in your line-up prediction then - and I sure you'll get two wrong. ;)

Altough I share the stance that Liverpool play better than United right now and are more likely to win, the result is far from certain. Just ask Madrid who couldn't beat fecking Eibar at home. Football oucomes are bloody unpredictable at times. Key is to be ready to fight and run, run, run. Then everything becomes possible.

    Not worried.

Liverpool were shit against Swansea. Their defense is shit. Most of their players are shit. Shit.

    We'll win 1-3

Is what I would like to see, plenty of pace at the back on the flanks and mobility in the middle. We can hurt them on the counter but our wide-men need to be on their game. I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

Sort the midfield balance and we can get a result there. We can definitely score goals against their defence.

If we play like we did against Stoke, we'll win. You don't come away from a performance like that without three points twice in a row.

Problem is Liverpool won't play like Stoke, they are much better than them and will create much more chances.

They won't defend that well either though.
Stoke defend better than Liverpool? Are you been sarcastic here?

Liverpool have conceded only 2 goals more than United and have already played Arsenal, Spurs, and Chelsea away. Stoke have conceded 16 goals so far. Only Wham have conceded more goals in the entire league.

IMO, we should put much more effort vs Liverpool and show entirely different energy levels to look good on the pitch. Otherwise, the game will be very onesided. It's not impossible for the team to run much more than vs Stoke.

Even if we play Ander and Carrick as holding mids in front of the defense, we will get plunked but if Mou insists on playing Rooney or another #10 then feck it, we will get destroyed. Pogba, Herrera and Carrick/Schneiderlin please.

Hang on a minute. Didn't Jose's Chelsea beat LFC, by playing negative football? So much so that Suarez complained to a Chelsea player, that what CFC were doing was unfair?
Why can't Jose pull out another such tactic to absolutely suffocate LFC?

Jose is a master tactician, so we shouldn't count ourselves out of this match, so easily.
I'd love to see Jose put up a really negative tactic and make LFC players (and their manager) angry. Klopp looks like he is not far away from killing someone and with a bit of luck, he might get himself sent to the stands, along with 1 or 2 of his players.

I think frustrating LFC and preventing them from playing their game is the key to winning this one. It'll be boring and negative, but we cannot afford to keep drawing/losing. We need to play for the result here.

This, if you can't overpower your rival with your style, you have to undermine theirs. They thrive in quick, direct football? Then wait at the back and close space between lines, tire them running after the ball like dogs when you have it and then kill them with counters.

If we are winning an need to protect a lead we should go to a 4-2-3-1 with Carrick and Ander holding. Rooney should even't be in the 18, this is a fixture he seldom plays well in.
