I'll hold my prediction until they play tomorrow and we see what players they will have for Sunday.

If we lose, LVG needs gone. A draw is not good enough.
    I think I'd go with.

    De Gea
    Young - Smalling - Blind - Darmian
    Morgan - Carrick
    Lingard - Rooney - Memphis
    Martial

attack their defence it's god awful.
I like this. The only change we could see is Martial pushed wide with Herrera as the #10 and Memphis being a sub.

The third man running and one-twos in and around the box are going to kill us.

Last season it the match at Anfield that pulled us away from Liverpool for good. The bell may not strike twice, but I really do like our chances of beating the scouse again.

Smalling is the key to this game. If he pulls a Swansea/Arsenal/Newcastle brainfart on us again we're doomed. If he puts in a performance typical of how he's played this season we can keep pool to down to one goal.

And then Rooney. Has he EVER scored at Anfield? Perhaps, but not very often. He's begun his latest white hot streak -- after about a year on the crapper -- and if he can keep his head together we can actually savage a fairly weak pool back line.

    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Bo-Jack
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Mata Rooney Young
    Martial

If we don't lose this in the first 30 mins I think Martial will cause them all kinds of trouble and Rooney will benefit.

    2-0 United

Yes, in the 04/05 season. He got a phone thrown at him too whilst celebrating in front of The Kop.

We can't stop here. This is bat country.
Think Martial can run their back-line ragged (again). Mignolet is also dodgy as feck. Set pieces could be key.

We need to take the sting out of the crowd by dominating the ball. I know that tactic has been crucifying us against shit teams at home, but it won't feel as bad if we're doing it at Anfield.

They have mistakes in them (probably the worst in the league outside relegation sides for defensive errors) so patience and probing, just waiting for the mistake to present itself may be the best way to tackle this one.

I meant to say we. Periera for a big game like that is madness.
Serious question, why not? I don't think anyone else has been their usual stable self, he has impressed me whenever he has played...

We should be looking to play football, this will be an open game and a player like Pereira could make the difference early on

I don't fancy us against that high press, Liverpool are pretty crap defensively but I don't think engaging them in a shootout at Anfield will deliver positive results.

If we play Fellaini in midfield again we'll get demolished, hopefully Schweini is fit, we need his big personality for this one.

Hopefully Mignolet does us a few favours. He is dreadful.
We won't even let him get involved in the game, to let him feck up. I expect 0-1 shots on target the entire game.

The mad man will play Fellaini in midfield again. Think we'll get pressed to oblivion and it will be LVG's last game.

I'm not sure we will get battered as some of you are saying.
I think we have a good chance of a draw.
In any case, I predict a close score line. No spankings.

Rooney is coming into some genuine form (which I'm struggling to believe). In our last game, he played like a tornado (Rooney of old). That 2nd goal he scored was a bullet and I can't remember him scoring one like that.

I think LVG will revert back to Mode2*, after Mode1* was used against Newcastle. I predict 1-1.

*We have 2 modes: Mode1 is all out attack and no defence. Mode2 is total defence and no attack.

Liverpool seem to get a lot of players joining their attacks whether it be fullbacks bombing on (particularly Moreno) or midfield runners from deep. I don't think we're disciplined enough to track runners, particularly when we've got players as thick as Fellaini and Memphis. Our away form is shocking and if Liverpool get an early goal it could be a long afternoon I'm afraid.

I don't remember that at all. Either way, Wayne has been a flop for us at Anfield over the years.
I've been on his back this season and would like to see him benched but he's clearly picked up his form of late -- no doubt due to the Euros coming up -- and a manager has to play players who are in form.

If Mata hadn't stuck the dagger in Liverpool's neck last season I'd bench him in favor of Memphis, but Mata does seem to have their number and he looks a lock to start. I'd like to find room for Herrera but if Herrera rarely gets starts when both Rooney and Mata are starting.

If Liverpool attack, just like Arsenal did against us, I can see a 2 goals deficit by half time. Not looking forward to this game to be honest.

Schneiderlin and Fellaini.....the biggest waste of £55m ! Sell 'em both on in January, dump Carrick and get some real quality in that midfield. Otherwise we're just going to keep struggling against everyone.

If we face the same Liverpool that Arsenal did, we'll get turned over easy. We're nowhere near as good as the gooners so it could be a tough afternoon. I just hope Smalling's learned his lesson cause even after the pen, he was still grappling with players. Him and Shawcross are the absolute worst at it...every time I watch them play I'm shouting at the telly. I don't know how they don't get penalised more often. As for Fellaini, he's such a dirty and hopeless player. I just hope he fecks off to Italy.

I thin we're going to lose against Liverpool on Sunday by a couple of goals if they play like they did yesterday. I'm going for a 3-1 home win.

Sorry, but please do not bracket Morgan and Fellaini together. The latter is an absolute abomination, while the former will go on to become a very good player for us.

Here we go again....how many players do we have that will go on to become great players?? They're still even saying that about the manager for feck's sake...even though he's been here 18 months already. You don't spend £27m for a player to become great for us one day? It doesn't make sense.

And sorry, but Schneiderlin brings absolutely nothing to the team! Whilst we're waiting for him...and others to become good players for us (and for van Gaal's 'plan' to start working) we'll just continue to slide down the league and get picked off in each competition.

Sorry, but you have to allow players a period of acclimatisation. In any case, I don't think it's fair to say MS adds nothing. For one thing, he gives us a backbone that helps us not to lose matches: the stats when he plays bear that point out.

I have absolutely no idea what the score will be in this one.

A 5-1 Liverpool win would not surprise me but nor would a 1-0 to us.

I'm not as pessimistic as most on here about this game. One look at the Liverpool team sheet should be enough to give us some confidence. They're as bad as we are, possibly worse. It probably wont be pretty, but we can definitely get a result here.
