Not at all, our season is not going to be broken by a loss to City away from home. What is important is to play well and use that to to carry on improving.

Losing to this City team is normal and what is far more important is beating the teams that we should be beating.
I dissagree, if we lose big and get completely outplayed then all the current momentum will be gone. City away is only one of an enormous amount of tough fixtures ahead and with the trash start we had we can't afford so many inconsistent performances and results anymore. We are still 4 points away from 4th, a loss here and a Spurs win and it's back to 7 and that gap could get bigger and bigger if we don't get our shit together. The winter period will be crucial.

3 points please. Of all the points dropped this season the 2 points at Stamford Bridge hurt the most. To have beaten Chelsea would have been a declaration of intent "we're Manchester United and you can't write us off".

Now we need to do the same in this match. If we can keep beating teams, there is no reason this season can't be rescued.

So I missed out on the ballot but I'm getting a ticket among the Citeh fans. A bit nervous. Anyone done this before? Am I endangering myself unnecessarily? Of course I won't be wearing anything United and will try to not make my true loyalty obvious, but who knows it might just slip out!

Think we will go with the same lineup as the Juve game. Hopefully we get anything out of this. At least a draw.

Need to win this while playing well could really become springboard to turn our season around domestically ,with our upcoming schedule we could easily be second before end of the year.

    Losing to Comeback Winning!
Hope we have a good go again -- similar attacking set-up.

Not too worried about this one. After the bad game way back in Mou's first season, since then he knows how to deal with Pep's MCity. Good chance.

It’s City at the Emptyhad. I’d take a 97 minute winning goal that ricochet off 10 players arse on its way in, from a free kick wrongly given and watch them cry.

On a serious note, we can’t afford to start as slow as we’ve been doing. They will put a few past us inside the first 20 minutes and it’ll be too late aka Arsenal away 15-16.

Need to exploit any space left by Walker. Pogba and Martial can expose that area of the pitch. It's a shame Mendy doesn't play at RB, he looks suspect.

These guys will be a lot more clinical than Juve.

We need to be less sloppy in possession and cut the mistakes, else it could be embarassing

You're going about this the wrong way. Maximizing exposure is the way to go to ensure safety.

Embrace technology. Set up a live stream. Wear a light blue tee-shirt saying - paraphrased - 'Proud sponsor for 20 quid (Thanks for the 19 quid!)'

Confuse the heck out of them. Cheer for City.

If you get pummeled on live stream, City get punished.

Next day you wake up with bruises but think how amazing you'd feel.

Also free beers for at least five years in any pub. 'Aren't you the fellow who-'

    Win-win.

Win this and we are right back in the title race. Would be a great time too, just before we go off for internationals. When we get back we have a run of the likes of Palace, Fulham, Huddersfield etc and would hope to kick on.

Our toughest test yet that’s for sure. Both teams will be up for it. If we keep it tight again and go in at halftime level, then it’s game on. Mou will no doubt have some plans. We need to out work them and play a physical game. Tough one to watch if we give a goal away early.

We had the much tougher game yesterday than City. We also have to consider the travelling that City didn't have. And city will probably bring in at least 3 or 4 fresh players in as they were probably in second gear last night.
Then you have to add in we have not been convincing at all this season, while City have been destroying teams.
Oh and finally Lukukka will be back.
    1-0 To Utd. (I wish)

Fred, Herrera, Pogba midfield for me. Energy and bite.

Martian-Sanchez-Lingard up top to press more.

Hahaha! You're clearly a much more savvy fan than I am. Not to mention the technology thing. Now I'm wishing it was you, while I watch the live stream. Thanks mate. I'll give it a thought.

Silva as always is their key man. The thing with city is that theyve pretty much bought two line ups capable of winning the league and when a player is out of form they dont suffer at all. Theyre coasting without de bruyne. Will be an incredibly tough game similar to last season at home in that if we lose we will be back to square one. If we win anything could happen. Would happily take a draw

    Herrera man job on silva

I would personally go for a 4 man mid, with Pogba deep to play out from the back and resist the press, with Herrera and Fred providing the energy to transition upfield.

    -----------------de Gea-----------------
    Young---Smalling----Lindelöf----Shaw
    ---------Matic-------Pogba-------
    -----Herrera-------------------Fred-------
    -------------Sanchez----Martial--------------

I’m going to go with we win this by hook or by crook. My mate was saying we’ll get hammered this week and I said it’s possible but these are the type of games we normally pull a result out from nowhere. 1 down, 1 more to go.

I think it will be tough but just feel Fellaini is going to do a job on them when he comes on late in the game.

Feel we're likely to loose this one, think they'll be a come down after the Juve win

I'll take a repeat of the last few games for this one. Go a goal down and spring to life in the second half. With a dodgy penalty decision or offside goal please.

Would be tempted to play Fellaini just behind Martial & Sanchez. Midfield of Herrera, Pogba and Matic. Back 4 picks itself.

I love Mata but I don't think this is the game for him to start, should absolutely be used from the bench though. Lingard's pressing and energy is going to be important.

If we have an intent to press high up and cause problems then it will be a very interesting match. Just hope we don’t build a wall of players and hope for a draw. After tonight we should be optimistic going into this
Yes would be disappointing for any Man. United fan if Mourinho just sticks 10 men behind the ball all game (or at least first half). Of course going to Man. City you need to defend and at times be cautious but the confidence Man. United now have and also winning there last season also needs to be respected.

I still think Man. City will win 2-1 but will be a tight game and Man. United will have chances. Got a wierd feeling Lukaku will declare himself fit on Friday and Mourinho will throw him straight into the 11 which would cause a meltdown on here.

    Herrera Matic (:() Pogba

    Lingard Sanchez Martial

I'd rather Fred play instead of Matic and Herrera be the holding player, but that's never going to happen. Tough call between Rashford and Martial - if we want to press form the front, Rashford is key, but Martial is in such good form.

I can't see us getting anything out of this one. City have just scored 12 goals in 2 games, they have goal threats everywhere. I just can't see our defence coping. Hope I'm wrong of course! Imagine how good this week will be if we manage to nick something...

I think I'd prefer Fellaini as an impact sub. Especially as he's just back from injury. I'd go with the same lineup as last night.

Ya I'm not a bit optimistic if I'm being honest. Can see us losing by at least 2-3 goals. Apart from this game meaning the world to City fans I couldn't really care about it tbh. We're miles behind them in terms of quality and most won't beat them so it's not like we're losing points for our top 4 race in the grand scheme of things (if that makes sense).

I just hope we're not pathetic like we were in the first half of last seasons away game. Although we won that won.

Against Juventus I predicted a 2-1 because I knew we had it in us to beat them if we actually played our game. Of course we got lucky but a win is a win. City on the other hand I’m not to sure. Why? Because of Mahrez. If they decided to play both mahrez and sane On the flanks I’m just not sure how we can cope. They also have mendy with those wicked crosses.

My glimmer of hope in this game is Sanchez. We now have absolutely no passengers in the team given lukaku omission which is a good change. Mourinho has to find a way to make sure we transition Perfectly while on the counter. I want mata to play but he really sucks on the counter. However I would still field him for that extra bit of control.

I don't see us outplaying them and I don't see us suddenly defending really well. Like last night we'll need lots of desperate last-ditch defending and to be honest we'll probably need them to miss chances.

There is definitely a possibility we're blown off the park almost regardless of what we do as the teams are on different levels in terms of consistency and effectiveness. I feel it will be asking for lightning to strike twice or even three times for us to repeat what we did there last season or did last night on Sunday. The only hope is that we do have a few players in good form and we've absolutely shown that no matter just how badly we play at times in a given 90 minutes we have the grit to stay in the match.

When they are dancing around us playing tika taka I personally would prefer to blame the big man.

Looking forward to playing City after a long time. Both teams are in good form going into this one. I think it all depends on how we start the game. If we are slow out of the blocks, they'll absolutely kill us and end this contest in the first half. But if manage to hold them off till half time, then we'll have a really good chance to come away with a draw or win.

We should be extra careful during set pieces. So many times against City, we concede silly goals from defensive mistakes during corners and free kicks. This time, we should make them earn their goal instead of gifting it to them.

Martial, Sanchez and Pogba will be the key for us on the counter. If these three can link up well, we'll create chances. There is no Lukaku to break up our play as well. We also need a player with pace on the RW to take advantage of Mendy's bad positioning. Lingard or Rashford should start out wide.
