I have a fun team in mind.

    AWB-Lindelof-Maguire
    Laird-Fred-McTominay-Williams

Play a strong team. We haven't got many other chances to win a trophy.

Utd should compete on all fronts. If we throw this game because ‘ the PL is more important,’ we really have turned into a mid table side
I think it's actually the other way around.

Big clubs usually prioritises PL or CL over FA and LC. Look at Liverpool for the last couple years for example, they always somehow got out of FA or LC pretty early.

Small clubs - mid table teams usually priorities FA and LC as it's their only hope for a trophy.

The only team that can compete on all front atm is City imo.

And of course we should not throw the game, no game should be threw anyway. Just play a young team and save the first XI for the prem. If we win, good. If not, not a big deal and the youngsters got the minutes.

Knowing us we’ll probably be trying to hit these lot on the counter attack.

We'll most likely make a lot of changes in the first team and the football won't be pretty. Should win it though.

Agree we should go with a mixture of experience/inexperience.

Surprised to see Dalot & Jones on so many line up predictions. Dalot is on the way back to fitness, not fit enough to start a competitive game & Jones is Jones, he always looks nervy and has a mistake in him. Although this is a lower tier team, one thing we need is a bit of composure at the back, i'd pick ANY of our available CB's before Jones.

I'd play Greenwood from the start, Martial needs to be benched.

    Going for a 3-0 win

No Gomes, Dalot or Levitt in the squad, Chong is there though

All I want to see is movement and creating options to pass.

If we can't do that against Colchester, I don't know what some of these players doing in Premier League.

    May I ask why ?
I could not care less about this League Cup tbh.
colchester are truly crap according to an old friend of mine (he's a life-long fan of them!). I know we were crap against rochdale but I'm presuming we cannot be that poor again (but, as I also said, that probably jinxes everything)

I think we will go with the team that played against AZ Alkmaar with very few changes

    Romero

    Dalot Tuanzebe Jones Williams

    Matic Garner

    Mata Pereira Gomes

    Greenwood
Don't think we should risk the first 11 players for this game, considering it's league 2 team and at OT. Hopefully Chong, Laird, Ramazani comes on as a sub.
I wouldn[t put Jones in the Colchester side! :wenger:

Looking at Mr Coote's record... he hands 4-5 yellows a game on average. so that's Jones inside the first 10 mins then and possibly a midfielder too

Ah ok I see your point now.

However as they managed to draw against Spurs with Ali and Moura I don't think they're that crap.

Btw if you ask any fan of any team most of them gonna say their team are crap you know, even the best teams (just have a look around the caf and you'd see )

If poch was their manager at that time then comparing that draw won't make sense

Really frustrating no Gomes, but Ole and the coaching staff see him everyday, and I hope their judgment is better than ours.

Yeah but according to the caf isn't Poch much better than Ole ;) ? Just kidding don't take that seriously.

Honestly I've no idea how good/bad this Colchester is. However as they're playing in the League Two then logically even our B team should be able to beat them with ease. If not, it'll just show how shit our reserved players are, which shouldn't be any surprise I think ?

Genuinely interested, is there a different type of "stream" that is called a "river", or is it simply people trying to be funny?
Are you asking for a stream? Because that's illegal. Asking for a good river to fish in however is not.

This is going to be one of those matches which is awful to watch as a United fan. Just Lingard/Mata/Pereira passing the ball around just outside their box for 70-80 minutes without ideas and then they'll score from a random corner or free kick.

We should still win. But I'm not that confident.

He fielded a weaker team but didn't finish with it. Eriksen, etc all came on to try and win it but Colchester held firm and won a penalty shoot out. Embarrassing it was but Colchester survived a battering somehow.

    One of those days
Colchester had two of those days as they beat Palace in the previous round.

If United start as i expect with Mata,Matic,Jones,Young,Pereira tonight it will be arguably be a weaker team than the one Poch started v Colchester. They will come with a double decker bus to Old Trafford. An early United goal could ruin their tactics hopefully no repeat of the scare v Rochdale anyway.

I see Ole went with the nuclear option in front, leaving nothing to chance here.

Colchester has scored 1 or fewer goals in 9 of their 13 latest contests. Go on Phil Jones, prove your worth
