I doubt we'll play the same system against Palace that we used for Chelsea and City. Rooney will be much higher up the pitch on Saturday.

If we must play 4-3-3 I'd love to see this

    -----------------DDG
    ----Valencia--McNair--Carrick--Shaw
    -------Blind----Fellaini---Herrera
    ------Januzaj--Rooney--ADM--

Got to say I really don't see LVG dropping Januzaj having stuck with him for Chelsea and City so that will presumably mean sticking with the 4-3-3

We know the defense will be patchwork stuff so I'd go back to the diamond for this game as we look much better as an attacking unit in that formation than we do in 4-3-3. If Falcao isn't fit then start Wilson with RvP or push Rooney up top and play Mata as the #10 and Herrera right midfield as I don't think Fellaini has the mobility to get out wide and help the RB.

3-0, we will win this and we have too. IMO we would have won or drawn against City if not for the red Card, and i felt some stability also in defence.
Can't wait, the unluck we have had this year got to end soon and the players have to stop these individual errors.

Herrera and Fellaini can switch Places for all i care, but having Fellaini in the side is important because we cross alot and he is a good target man when its difficult passing a way through.

Agreed, but only if Herrera is fit. Hopefully Rafael will be to. Another game with Valencia at RB will make me weep.

Think McNair's earned a start anyway, in spite of the fact he's our only fit CB.

Oh, and please be fit Rafa. I don't know which i hate more: Valencia on the wing or Valencia at right back.

Beat them and get a decent result against Arsenal and we should get something going.

    4-0.

Playing with 10men for most of the game vs City, at the Emptihad, with 2 kids and 2 midfielders in defence and we played out of our skins. Could've easily nicked something in the end.

Absolutely monster performances from Blind, Shaw, Fellaini, Carrick, and De Gea against City. RVP, Rooney, Rojo, AdM were excellent too. If the team keeps up this level of intensity and brilliance we will crush this Palace side.

Don't think I've ever been so positive after defeat but we didn't look like a team with 10men. With 11 we could've killed these fools. Against Palace we will hopefully be fired up again!!
Huh, what game was this? Anyway back to reality, I think you'll win this one 3-0 fairly comfortably. Palace are much easier to break down this season and if Falcaos back shouldnt be a problem.

Given our away form we have to win these games - and win them well.

Rafael and Evans should both be available for this if initial prognoses were correct. Perhaps Falcao too. If so, I'd go:

    de Gea

    Rafael
    McNair
    Evans
    Shaw

    Carrick
    Blind

    Herrera
    Rooney
    Di Maria

    van Persie

SUBS: Lindegaard, Blackett, Fellaini, Valencia, Mata, Januzaj, Wilson.

Really want to see Carrick and Blind together (as long as one of them doesn't have to fill in at CB) and also Herrera played further forward.

I just wish Rooney can stop those crossfield balls. They break the rithym and always seem to find our opponents. He is not Scholes or Becks. He should just concentrate on what he is good at.

    Carrick............ Blind
    Herrera
    Januzaj .......................... Di Maria
    Rooney

Rooney has to be up front in my opinion. Rvp needs to be dropped.

I'd start Carrick in the middle with Blind. Two composed midfielders in front of that back four is well needed. They could form a very good partnership. Sit back and let the other four get forward and allow the wing backs run on.

I know Di Maria has been more effective in the middle, but I think a run of games on the left and he'll be grand. He's world class after all. :D

Hope Falcao is fit and firing soon, maybe he'll be able to make a sub appearance in this.

Will Evans even be fit for this? I'd rather play McNair and Blackett to be honest

Thinking that this could work out, especially if everyone is fit. Back 4 continues to be tricky at times but if possible i'd like to see McNair and Rojo together. Valencia didn't really impress as RB, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

I quite like the diamond midfield. Blind is a must. If Herrera is fit then start him and switch in Januzaj in the 70th minute if we need an attacking boost. Di Maria works much better in the diamond in my opinion, more freedom to do his magic. Fellaini is high on life right now, but if Mata impresses in training, or if we want more creativity, start him by all means.

Guessing Falcao won't be fit and both Rooney and RvP are fixed players, so there's that.

3-1 for us. Can't see us screw this up actually.

We need to start getting in behind the defences. We seem to play infront of the opposition defence all the time with no pace to get in behind. Our lack of pace upfront doesn't help.
If Di maria is intent on crossing the ball all the time he needs to mix up his crossing as most of his crosses are from the deep ,he needs to get in behind the full back , likewise Adnan. We would be lethal in attack if we can do this. Also a lot of the risky passes that he is trying haven't come off in the last few games hopefully he reduces the high risk passing a bit till he gets his form back
Also Carrick back is a huge plus and keeping him in the starting eleven is crucial to control games.Blind has been good but his two weaknesses , strength and pace get really exploited in the PL.I would like to see Carrick instead of Blind in that holding role with pretty much the same formation that we have been playing so far.I like Blind, just that i think defensively Carrick will add a bit more to the side.
Fellaini has been superb both defensively and in attack, like a proper box to box player. His work rate has been pleasantly surprising
Smallings getting a lot of stick for the red card but I still think he is our best CB currently .He will learn from this mistake and I predict him to be the mainstay of our defence this season as his speed is crucial for playing a high back line.

This is the kind of game we can bring Mata in for. Or if fit, start Falcao, RVP and Rooney,

Finally, a game I can look forward to. Now's the time we have to start racking up the points - the Arsenal game included. Drop any here and we'd have a mountain to climb for top 4, a Mars mountain too.

Very optimistic. Everybody has been playing better and better with each passing game. We're a good, or at the very least not constantly injured back 4 from being title contenders. Fellaini has amazed in the last few games, I'm in awe of his confidence. Past it, fat, lazy, greedy, call him whatever, but you can see how much Rooney wants to play well, he'll pick up steam. Same goes for Falcao. Di Maria in a bit of a slump, but you wouldn't count out a worldbeater like him to get out of it quickly. Everything's going upwards for us for the first time since May 2013.

3-1 United. Rooney, Fellaini and van Persie to score.

People were making a big deal out of the last 5 matches, we played better each game. The matches until the window are where we will really prove if we're serious and if we can challenge for 4th without too many reinforcements needed.

    Palace - H
    Arsenal
    Hull - H
    Stoke - H
    Southampton
    Liverpool - H
    Villa
    Newcastle - H
    Tottenham
    Stoke

Half the games at home, 30 points, we should be picking up most of them.
Knowing us we will probably lose to Spurs, Arsenal and draw at Villa.
