Get Mata in for this game. I think Rooney on his own can be a presence and certainly better than RVP ambling around and getting easily marked out of the game.

    De Gea

    Rafael
    McNair
    Carrick
    Shaw

    Blind

    Fellaini
    Herrera
    Di Maria

    Mata

    Rooney

I expect RVP to be stuck with though. I'd like this eleven to have a go.
Why do you want to play so defensive against CP at old Trafford? We need to batter Them not going for a draw...

Christ I'm watching Palace now and they're dire, if we can't beat these lot I'm seriously going to question Van Gaal.
Football rarely works out that way though. This is Leicester's form since their amazing, world beating, headline making come back against us... LDLLL

    Oh man, the meltdown if we don't win on Saturday. I'm calling it right now;

-Falcao starts... but is hobbling after 10 minutes and is subbed soon after,
-We start with attacking diamond formation... but have to revert to 1 up front, RVP has another off day,
-Lots of pressure from us for 80 minutes but no goal... then Blind gets sent off for a weak second bookable,
-Palace score from ludicrous penalty decision in injury time... cue meltdown and mass panic!!!

It will bring my piss to a boil, microwave my turds and oven roast my nads if we don't win on Saturday. These games... I repeat... these games right here... are the ones you need to win to get top four.

    No pressure, Louis.

Jedinak (their captain) looks like he will miss our game, right? Also Zaha wont be able to play. And a home tie.

    We should win this. Should...

    ------------DeGea-------------
    Rafael-McNair-Carrick-Shaw
    ------------Blind--------------
    ----Herrera-----DiMaria------
    -----------Rooney-------------
    ----Wilson--------vPersie------

I expect Rafa to get back as it only was a knock that kept him out and i doubt it is very serious, Valencia instead if he is injured.

You could make a case for Blackett instead of Carrick, but in U21 game he didn't look comfortable so i wouldnt risk that.

Harsh on Fellaini to leave him out, but we are gonna need Herrera's creativity and passing.

Wilson to Inject pace in attack, even they probably will sit very deep it is still important to have, and he scored in U21's game so he is in form.

Rest of the team picks itself really. I expect us to dominate the game completely and create many chances.

Edit: Jedinak banned for this game = Battering.

I want badly Janko Blackett McNair Shaw at the back

I will gladly take Valencia Blackett McNair Shaw

What I think will happen will be Valencia Carrick McNair Shaw

Everything else will settle itself. If Falcao can play, I believe we will see the diamond midfield, if not then it will be the same as Sunday against city. Palace lost Jedinak and Wilf won't play either. Not too worried with those two out, just need it to get here to start a run of wins.

That's team I would play now, I know I said fellani doesn't deserve to be dropped, but I want to see Wilson and Herrera start and I don't see rooney or van persie getting dropped. And as good as fellanis been we still haven't won a game with him in the team and herreras our best midfielder IMO.

I don't know what to think of Southampton at the moment tbh, I haven't watched them enough i saw them lose to the dippers but other than that only seen glimpses on match of the day, they dont seem to have had the hardest of fixtures but then again I doubt they were any easier than ours.. I just cant see them keep this sorta form for much longer and they have a crazy run of fixtures after their next 2.

Yeh all my pals are g00ner fans but you will never hear them talk about football unless they are on a good run.
I think they will drop a lot of points in their next 11 games.

    Southampton v Leicester City

    Aston Villa v Southampton

    Southampton v Manchester City

    Arsenal v Southampton

    Southampton v Manchester United

    Burnley v Southampton

    Southampton v Everton

    Crystal Palace v Southampton

    Southampton v Chelsea

    Southampton v Arsenal

    Manchester United v Southampton

I think this will allow us to be more balanced but more so allow our creative players (Herrera, Di Maria and Mata) to have more freedom with Blind and Fellaini holding.

I'd rather this then keep trying to force 2 strikers or having wide players but not finding the right balance

It doesn't seem balanced to me, many creators but needs goalscorers. I agree the two striker thing hasn't been working that well but the players have gotten better at understanding what they are to do, and i think we will see that in this game.

Fair opinion. Tbh part of my reasoning is also I think we've gone too far to one extreme of trying to share the goals out. RVP is looking feeble and ideally Falcao would be fit. For me ever since getting captaincy Rooney has taken initiative to take the team forward and with those creators he can be more single minded in taking more chances.

How has the two striker thing not been working? Since we've been playing 4-3-3 we haven't looked as good going forward as we did when we played the diamond and had two strikers up front.

Yep, good news for us, especially if Di Maria plays more centrally.
Thats the key for us, I really hope LVG understands that ADM is wasted on the wing and with him being world`s best LCM we have to play him in his best position, otherwise he is gonna be wasted.

I meant THAT WELL, obviously our strikers could have scored more in the diamond, but i fully agree we have been a much bigger threat in the diamond than the 4-3-3, mainly because our wingers right now doesn't suit that formation and we miss Di Maria central when he is playing on the wings. So i agree with you m8 :)

They are looking good now tbh. They also could have had a penalty in the first minute of the game
They had a spell at the start of the second half where they ran about a lot, but both their wide men are all pace and no product, the two Sunderland fullbacks quickly worked out that it was best to let them do there little tricks and just shadow them as the deliveries were nothing special.

Beyond pace out wide Palace showed nothing and on Saturday will not have the use of one of their pacey wide men and will also be without their captain, we should mop them up in front of a packed Old Trafford like we did with QPR.

What is the bet that when we take Palace to the cleaners that all the doomsayers will be on here saying "it was only Palace".
Oh you can guarantee that. But then start overrating Arsenal because they beat Burnley at the Emirates in a similar situation, saying they are clearly the 3rd best in the league. Funny how it works eh.

I used to play with and against Jedinak a few years ago, crazy to see how highly he is rated now. All credit to him but here in Australia he was just a decent player, nothing special. Shows the state of Australian football though that he is our captain.

He has done great to take his chance.

Yep, I am actually looking forward as usual to the Arsenal game. Seen enough to know we are going in the right direction. I am expecting quite a long run of wins now. Just wish the back line would stop having injuries.

I would not be surprised if Swansea get away with a draw against Arse at home. Arsenal are the perfect "one-man team" right now which is a shame for them, because they did not lose any vital player in the summer.

How will our defence look like? Clean sheet would be a godsend.
I would like to see Carrick play as one of the Center backs because we can not have 2 Juice (read youth) players along with a young shaw & makeshift RB (Valencia) in the defense.

That's a good lineup except Vermijl & probably Falcao starting instead of RVP in case he is fit & available.

I just want someone who actually can play as RB (not saying Vermijl is the right one but we need someone that is not Valencia or Rafael because they are not RB we want to have).
We need someone who is solid defending and still can push forward at times.
