I think this is time for Van Gaal to get it soon to put Persie on the bench. I think no matter who we play we should win this game fairly easy, but now we need to be ready for big games soon and getting the balance right. He got it right in Bayern in the end by dropping an old and slow Luca Toni. Why can't he see the same thing here. Problem is PL much tougher as well so the more we wait the higher damage. No Europe again would be disaster.

This would be the last game you'd see LVG retire RVP to the bench. He's played him in two of our biggest games of the season, it wouldn't make sense to leave him out against Palace.

Yes, but now Falcao may be back although I agree he will certainly start with Rooney and they will be horrible together since I think Falcao is still out, but we will still win with like 2-0 or something like that since it is Palace and we should be much better almost no matter what team at home.

Personally I would say give Wilson a chance. Maybe with Fellaini lol I actually thought they did well together against Hull in that although yes rather meaningless game although now they would get service from Di maria rather than Lawrence on one of the wing compared to that game.

People were making a big deal out of the last 5 matches, we played better each game. The matches until the window are where we will really prove if we're serious and if we can challenge for 4th without too many reinforcements needed.
    Agreed 100%

I actually was not worried about the Chelsea and Man City games. Those teams are not our competition this year.
However, the next 4 games, I am expecting 12 points.
The Arsenal game is a 6 pointer and could decide who finishes in 3rd place.
The Crystal Palace game is a must win game: 3-1.

If we dont beat C.Palace, I seriously will begin to doubt LvG's plans, having stuck by his philosophy without question, until now.

For those suggesting that we will not concede any goals - what you basing this on?

This would be my lineup as well, except RVP in for Wilson (unfortunately). I'd love to give Wilson a start here, but I just can't see that happening until the FA Cup.

Would love to see Wilson start, switch back to the diamond and let Di Maria have the freedom to be a menace at Old Trafford.

If we bring Di Maria back into midfield then we should win, especially as they have their DM Jedinak suspended.

If we continue to play Di Maria out wide against even teams as weak as Palace then I'd be concerned we may drop points and very concerned that we won't see the best of our best player.

Beyond that, I think RvP is nailed on for the foreseeable future barring fitness issues or needing a rest. Strange that for all we're supposed to have a star studded front line I still don't particularly trust any of our strikers bar Rooney atm.

I also hope Fellani is left out in favour of Herrera. Fellaini did well in the last few games but that doesn't change the fact that Herrera is comfortably the better player.

Really depends on which defenders are available, but I think I'd even have faith in McNair and Blackett playing together as both have looked solid for the most-part considering their age and experience.

    de Gea
    Valencia McNair Blackett Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini Herrera
    Di Maria van Persie Rooney

LvG may go with Carrick somewhere in the side, could be at CB or could be over Herrera in midfield.

More than giving Wilson a chance, Mata should be given a free role and a chance in this game to see if he can shine atleast against lesser opponents. He should have mobile players like Herrera ADM Blind and Rooney around him to get the best out of him. There is no shame for a player to accept that he can't have an impact in big games. If he can accept that and be a bully against lower placed teams then that would do us a world of good. League titles are won and lost based on the points we get from teams that are beatable. Not based on matches against city or chelsea where we do good and then lose to a hull.

Mata should impose himself on the palace defense and show he can control a game. If he can't do this against palace at home then there will be no place for him. If he can do well against teams like palace then he will end up playing a lot of games per season even if he doesn't feature in the big games.

They have some pacey forwards. We can't defend..
Let's hope our attackers turn up on the night... we might need a few goals..

I've read that Evans is potentially back for this.

Hopefully back to the diamond as without Jedinak we should be dominating the midfield/possession (that would happen even if he were to play).

    -----------------De Gea---------------------

    Rafael ------McNair-------Evans--------Shaw

    -----------------Blind-----------------------

    ------Herrera -------------Di Maria------------

    ---------------Mata-------------------------

    ----------Rooney-----RVP------------------

    3-0 United Rooney, RVP, Mata

I'd think you'd be just above the cross bar with your view. Never sat on that bottom section in the stretty though, last time i sat there i was in the second section up and had a cracking view of Macheda scoring a certain peach .

In fairness I've seen Munich at home, West Ham away, Tottenham away. Old Trafford is something else though, really is
