The team he put out at Wembley is clearly his first team.
He will give Sanchez, Martial and Lingard the chance to build some chemistry.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones Shaw
    Matic Pogba
    Lingard Sanchez Martial
    Lukaku

Subs: Romero, Lindelof, Rojo, Young, Herrera, Mata, Rashford

Jones might be dropped but it's not like Rojo's shown much form this season. Rest of the team is pretty straightforward, Shaw for Young is a no-brainer. Given they're the worst team in the league right now (which is some achievement given the dross down there) I think we'll get our first five goal haul of the season, 5-1.

His form has been utter dire for well over a month, both as a starter and coming off the bench, so how would it be deserved ? If he plays well coming off the bench, start him.
Just for the simple fact he scored in the cup match and looked like he had more to his game for defenders to worry about then Lakaku.

Spurs CB last night were on vacation against Lakaku because they knew the only thing he is going to do is flick the ball on in the air for United non existent runners. At least with Rashford CB's know they cant let up for even one second against Rashford because he will burn them if they give him some space.

I was at OT for the City match this season, the chance that Lakaku had where he hit their keeper in the face, everyone around me got excited and jumped up as the chance was created i sat their calmly knowing Lakaku was never going to score that. Thats the feeling Lakaku gives you when you see him live so imagine how easy it must be for CB's.

His hold up play for a big target man upfront is shocking.

And that team will loose every matching it plays against the top 6 teams because its a proven fact that when you play the big teams you have to match them in midfield.

We lost to City at home because it was a 2 man midfield against 3 and we lost to Spurs and Chelsea away for the exact same reason.

Let's see the response Jose and the team show. We need to at least cement 2nd place and finish the season strongly with some good performances.

This just shows, with the pushing of Lingard to the right, how Sánchez's introduction is destroying the balance the team had recently gained. Sánchez for Mata would at least keep it, although I see the use of Mata in a home game with lots of possession.

Lakaku also played yesterday, also check his record against the top 6 teams vs rashfords record against the top 6.

Unlike Rashfords fecking screamer against Yeovil ?

There's nothing in Rashfords performances the last two months, especially up top, that indicates he should start ahead of Lukaku up top.

look at you under evaluating Rashfords performance just because you like Lakaku

how many goals has Lakaku got against Chelsea, Arsenal, City since Rashford made his debut in the PL?

    shambolic stuff .

And most importantly where was Lakaku yesterday ? the Spurs CB's were on vacation mate

I'm not a fan of Lukaku, and it's hardly an underevaluation of Rashfords performances (There's a reason his ratings are some of the lowest for the past few months)

If Rashford was still performing as well as he did at the start of the season, then no worries, but he's miles away from that level these days and using a dire performance and a fluke goal against Yeovil as the milestone in recent months as justification that he deserves to start ahead of Lukaku is pretty funny.

He wasn't great yesterday but feel its a bit harsh to say Spurs CB were on vacation because of Lukaku. We were shit all over the pitch, wasn't one player who stood out from the rest.

Never seen such optimism in a thread before a match  easy 3-0 win, we'll probably see a very similar team although I'd want to see Young out of the team, have Martial switch with Sanchez from the start and I'll be happy.

Lukaku likes the ball played early to him and if we play Mata and Rashford it is not going to happen.

Will probably never happen but I would love to see this:
    DDG
    Valencia-Jones-Smalling-Shaw
    -------------------Carrick-------------------
    -----Herrera----------------Pogba------
    Lingard----------------------------Sanchez
    -------------------Martial------------------

Jones and Smalling to start despite the horror show against Spurs, they had an off day but deserve a chance to redeem themselves.
Shaw has been very good since coming back and deserves to start ahead of Young.
Carrick instead of Matic for his passing, Herrera to do the running and let Pogba do all the damage in the final third.
Lastly, Martial as #9 as Lukaku has been a bit meh lately.

We need a big performance to turn morale around again. These were absolute shite against Liverpool the other night, we must avenge that embarrasing defeat to them.

Nothing less than 4 goals please.

Matic needs a rest and is carrying an injury... surely Carrick can play this one. I don't want Martial to be dropped but can see him and Lingard sitting this one out. Yes Pogba is so much better in a three but I think Jose will still go with the two here. CB needs sorting out but Jones and Rojo did well together last year when we had that run in the New Year so can see Mourinho turning to that as well.

Mata is a playmaker and should be used as such
Give it up, buddy. Footballers should be either defensive, score bangers, or have pace. The concept of ball retention and recycling, keeping possession is boring. Which is why Mata should never play and then his non-fans can wonder why we can't keep the ball.

Let Rojo come in for Smalling or Jones and that's probably our best team at the momenr.

Just hope we win. After Wednesday, I expect a performance. be interesting to see how he configures the team. Pogba has to be released, play him behind the front three, and let him roam. But he cannot be picking the ball up from the back four, I want him active from the half-way line going forwards. A Carrick / Herrera Midfield may work , and give Matic a break. We have to remember how well Matic has played this season, and he hasn't had anyone come in to share the load. I haven't a clue what has happened to Herrera, who needs to grow his own personality on the game. It's like he is petrified of anything close to being creative, like taking the ball on the half-turn, and looking ahead.

Sanchez has to play off the left, which means we need a marauding left-back.. why did Mourinho drop Shaw, who, after being literally written off, publicly by the manager, is now playing with a degree of form. This is what worries me about Mourinho. His ego will always be his downfall. Please play Shaw tomorrow.

I would play Rashford on the right of the three. Lukaku plays. Martial, Lindgard are benched.

Carrick looked very off the pace when he came back t'other day, don't think he is ready for the PL yet. Would be very useful if he was fit though.

Think Morinhou would give Shaw a shot after the midweek fixture. Also think he would rest Martial and give Rashford a chance after not being able to sub him on at Wembley. Hoping Herrera to start instead of Lingard after the midfield horror show on Wednsday.

3-0 us. Lukaku Rashford and Sanchez to score. Pogba 2 assists, Sanchez 1 assist. Martial, Lingard and Lindelof substitutes.
