Huddersfield Town Association Football Club (nicknamed The Terriers) is a professional football club based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Huddersfield Town were founded in In 1908 at the Albert pub as Huddersfield and the Huddersfield Association Football Ground Co. was formed and, with capital of £500, set about purchasing the Leeds Road recreation fields. The stadium just started as a pitch but was still ready for their first game, which was a local semi-final. On 15 August 1908, Huddersfield Town Association Football Club was registered as a limited company with Fred Walker being appointed as the club's first manager.

In 1910, just three years after being founded, Huddersfield entered the Football League for the first time. In November 1919 a fund-raising campaign was needed to avoid a move to Leeds. Citizens of Huddersfield were asked to buy shares in the club for £1 each, and the club staved off the proposed merger. The team went on to reach the 1920 FA Cup Final and win promotion to Division One.

In 1926, Huddersfield became the first English team to win three successive league titles – a feat that only three other clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United) have been able to match. Huddersfield Town also won the FA Cup in 1922 and have been runners-up on four other occasions. During the club's heyday, on 27 February 1932 the club achieved a record attendance of 67,037 during their FA Cup 6th round tie against Arsenal at Leeds United. This attendance has been bettered by only 13 other clubs in the history of the Football League. After the Second World War, the club began a gradual decline, losing its First Division status in 1952. After two seasons in the top division in the early 1970s the club spent 45 years in the second, third and fourth tiers of English football before being promoted to the Premier League in 2017

Huddersfield Town's main rivals are Leeds United (although there is never a shortage of beef with neighbours, Bradford City). There are also smaller rivalries with Barnsley, Oldham Athletic and formerly with near neighbours Halifax Town. They play their home games at Kirklees Stadium - having moved there in 1994.

We already owe them some spanking and we'd be eager to get the match against Spurs behind us.

I think we'd smash them by some ridiculous scoreline. 7-0.

This game cant come quick enough, need to wash this bitter taste out by hammering these guys 8-0 (and back in reality it'll be a 1-1 draw that we'll be lucky to get :P )

I hope we never see a 4-2-3-1 again. That's all. I'll be happy with the rest of this season if we switch to a midfield 3 full time, as it will 100% bring out better performances from us.

Nothing team at OT means an uninspiring 2-0 win. But we’ll be turned over the minute we play a half decent side.

We can't stop here. This is bat country.
Oh I wonder if Huddersfield will completely fold like they did for Klopp. Or will they suddenly find reserves of talent and energy in their biggest game of the year. I do wonder.

Meanwhile, Spurs will definitely keep their performance levels high at Anfield. No chance they’ll shit themselves and go back to being shite in the big games.

Huddersfield's form is absolutely shocking. Only team not to pick up a point in January. 4 defeats, 1 goal scored, 12 conceded. If they so much as get a point it'll be ridiculous.

Let's see what our response will be. Spurs are facing Liverpool at Anfield so a win here may erase the shite that just happened tonight.

Feels like a repeat of Bournemouth/Brighton at home, unconvincing 1-0 win... I hope

I want a big win here. Sanchez to score his first goal would be nice.

Would not put it beyond these wankers to raise their game and make it a tough game again.

Then again I wouldn't put it beyond our stars to go missing again once the going gets tough.

I think we might see some nut cutting at the back and Rashford will start given he didn't get on tonight, well probably plow on with fecking 4-2-3-1 though.

Pogba will shine as he does against the small teams, Sanchez will bag a couple of goals and finally Rom will chip in with his goal around the 85' and all will be rosy again! :smirk::angel:

    I like this!

Change Mata for Herrera and it would probably do against Huddersfield. Problem is that it puts a lot of pressure on the full backs if the opposition have good wingers and attacking full-backs.

    Lukaku
    Martial Alexis J.Mata
    Pogba Ander
    Shaw Rojo Mike Anto
    DDG

Tell Pogba to stay more disciplined and control the game. I dont like leaving Lingard out, but i think we need Mata right now.

Huddersfield won't leave the box, so there is no point playing 3 at the back or 3 CMs. It's better to play 4-2-3-1 for this.

Hopefully we score early goal so that game opens up.
