I know rotation will come into effect, but I’d love to see that front 3 of Martial, Rashford and Lingard maintained

I don't have the data to watch the press conference. Does this tweet mean literally everyone is available, Sanchez included?

I thought he was still injured? Even if not, I wouldn’t think he’ll go straight back into the XI before building up match fitness
You are not getting away this easy...

Suppose he is fit and in form, where would you fit him ?
And 2hat is the most likely formation and combination you think Ole would line up once Sanchez is in the team ?

Do we expect a similar relaxed performance or a tougher game? I want to see us be comfortable at OT again.
I think they will sit deep and counter but it really depends when we get our first goal. I can see a 2-0 victory with Huddersfield frustrating us until the second half.

New guy in charge, and players quickly 'recover' returning from injuries. joking or am I..

    ---

EDIT: Found this at the official website,

"No fresh injury worries were reported after an excellent team performance, although it remains to be seen if any of those not involved are available, such as full-back Antonio Valencia, centre-backs Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo, midfielder Scott McTominay and striker Romelu Lukaku."

Love the positivity, nice change, keep it up fellow posters.

Gahd, those buzzkillers, let posters be happy for a change, it's doom and gloom previously.

I think he also said Pogba among that trio running at teams.

:keano: "The Attacking Philosophy IS in the walls of Man United. That's tradition, that's history, that's how we play, that's how we want to play. So, today, is a good reflection of what we want."

Bizarrely, Mourinho did want to stop them from attacking...for reasons that are unbeknown to me.
I genuinely believe that Jose has lost his marbles. He was obsessed with parking the bus and buying players who were 6'3" or taller.
Even though he knew our defence could not be relied upon, he still insisted on parking the bus, rather than attempt to outscore the opposition.

Anyway, that's all in the past and Ole seems intend on focusing on attacking football. And I tell you what, if he keeps getting us to play like he did against Cardiff, I would be happy for him to manage us for the next 20 years! I am realistic though - we need to take things 1 game at a time and see how things develop.

The guy in the Indian restaurant, I would guess he's from Bangladesh originally but he's been in England for many years, asked me if this was a local Derby, because he didn't think Huddersfield was that far from Manchester.

Although, this might be more likely a function of living his whole of his time in England in the South East.

I like having an interchangeable front 3, Rashford, Martial and Lingard all swapped around through the match, it’s a nightmare to mark.

Sanchez could easily come in for either 3. I like the idea of a Martial, Sanchez, Rashford front 3 when all are fit. Pogba in behind, as per Olé’s first match

Luckily if they stay as fluid as they were against Cardiff, all 4 could probably play in any of the 3 postions to good effect. With big Rom as an impact player.

I like he gave positive response to 'have the players set the bar too high against Cardiff'.
He said 'you can never set the bar too high' and the players weren't playing at their maximum and that they have to give.

We would probably have called the win and performance against Cardiff routine win 5/6 years ago. Looks like that is where he setting the standard.

So you are going to drop Lingard ?
Or you will play him in the midfield.
Imagine a midfield of Pogba and Lingard with those three up top. And God save our defense.

    Martial----Sanchez----Rashford
    ---Pogba--Matic/Fred--Lingard---
    Shaw---Jones--Lindeloff---Young

I like the look of this. Wonder if Lingard could play a similar role to the Ox at liverpool

Imagine that Pogba is doing 1-0, it's time for him to show that he can regularly score goals again.

Raschford makes 2-0, he will score in each match and then Martial make 3-0 and 4-0 and consolidate his place as the team's best scorer.

Then Lukau can get 15 minutes and show if he wants to join in and fight for a starting place.

    I don't like Huddersfield. I don't like their players, I don't like their manager, I don't like their stadium, I don't like their fans.

    Better trash them.

First time in ages that I can't wait for our game and am properly excited about the upcoming slew of fixtures. Such a great feeling, you only know it's value if you had lost it earlier.

Ole has said he expects teams will find it hard to deal with the pace and attack of Martial, Rashford, Pogba and Lingard.
So he has pretty much said those players will be his first choice. And honestly i expect any team to have difficulty containing them.

    Dalot - Bailly - Smalling/Lindelof - Shaw
    Mata - Herrera - Pogba
    Lingard - Rashford - Martial
Dalot, Bailly, Smalling and Mata in for Young, Lindelof, Jones and Matic.

of all the things that puzzled me with Mourinho - our lack of ambition against the worst teams in the League was maybe what puzzled me the most. Parking the bus at Anfield...fine I can understand that. But against the Brightons, Huddersfields etc - why didn't we just pressure them like mad ? They are not good enough to play their way out of defense too often - and we would get 3-4-5 huge chances in each game. But no - we started our pressure much lower and invited pressure from the opponent … stupid!

    Oh I agree

Jose has four phases of play at times how we set up that had all the answers in how to not play well

He had DDG not only boot the ball long, meaning no build up meaning we could give the ball back to the other team

Jose has smalling at CB who can’t play out of the back, it’s why Southgate decided not to take him, this is mixed in with the fact none of our CB’s split, so another phase where we not building up the play on the ground

In midfield he would play matic and fellaini sitting deep, meaning no forward passes, sit very deep next to the two CB’s, play it slow cutting our wingers and fullbacks adrift. In jose’s Mind we need two drivers one bus, which was parked. Then stick Herrera or mctomney next to matic, play fellaini forward and boot it long

And to top off this awful cherry on his turd cake, he would play lukaku upfront, who’s got a first touch of a brick wall, not very mobile and does not run the channels, would not be involved with the other attackers and def no pressing from the front. It’s why we were always towards the bottom on distance covered, you can’t do it with fellaini, matic and lukaku

So when it’s smalling, matic, fellaini and lukaku the heart beat of jose’s Spine, there was no way any side could possibly build up an attack, when it’s either plan B long ball, or play a spine where none of it is built on pressing or looking to attack on the floor, because of the personal on the field makes that impossible because there is no legs to do it.

When you have Shaw, Herrera, pogba, lingard, rashford and martial attacking, then all of sudden teams are being pulled apart because of the quality, energy and movement of these players, how Jose couldn’t see this boggles the mind

of all the things that puzzled me with Mourinho - our lack of ambition against the worst teams in the League was maybe what puzzled me the most. He decided to fight our two possible world class players pogba and martial, he threw Shaw under the bus last year and rashford this year at times, another 2 key first team 11 players, that’s four, he blamed he had no ball playing CB, bingo lindelof is that player that’s 5 out of 11 players, and went with players like fellaini and lukaku who don’t bring the modern aspect that is needed. It’s no coincidence we were always near the bottom or at the very bottom of distance covered, when you bench your key players who can do all the things needed to win games, but pick players who can’t do what is needed then your doomed, and he was a dead man walking when Jose is picking fellaini and lukaku ahead of guys like pogba, martial and rashford

Im expecting a low block from huddersfield tomorrow. They know under this new management we aren't afraid to attack. We will have to score early and apple pressure from the start if we want smooth sailing tomorrow.

Honestly, with the excitement back, I'm just hoping for a clean sheet.

Hopefully a convincing win or at the very least, an easy one, but the clean sheet aspect is key right now. We've already conceded more goals than last season and Huddersfield have been struggling to score all season. It's great that we're going more attacking but let's plug the holes at the back please.

The fact that we're not gonna give teams the time on the ball anymore should mean fewer chances converted against us.

Here's hoping but given all the feelgood it wouldn't surprise me if they manage to somehow nick a goal, maybe even lead just to throw a spanner in the works.
