Leicester will happily sit back let us have it in front of them and hope to pick us off on the counter, similar to their second half at Chelsea, if we go with Lingard/Mata we will get beat, for me Pogba needs help creatively in the middle otherwise they will just stifle Pogba and hope to keep James quiet.

If everyone is fit (not sure on Martial but say he is) my side would be:

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Young
    McTominay Pogba
    Greenwood Gomes James
    Martial

I guess we’ll find out tomorrow if the likes of AWB, Pogba and Martial will be fit to play?

I bloody hope they are, because without them I’m a tad worried due to our lack of (quality) squad depth.

Glad to see a large proportion of those posting here have Fred in there starting line up. It's clear we need to change the midfield, I just hope Ole wakes up before it's too late.

Who is to blame for most of this? The manager because he sold all the players without replacing them. I have no issues about the selling but only an idiot would not replace them. This why I say Ole is too inexperienced to be the manager of such a big club.

You really think Ole approved selling without replacements despite our desperate attempts to sign a striker at the end of the window?

Why would he leave himself short? Too prove he is a managerial mastermind?

Woodward fecked up again, Ole can’t call him out for it and has to suck it up plus coming out and complaining about it didn’t work so well last year under the special one and hardly inspires confidence in the players what we do have.

And it’s only game 5, I can’t see what can possibly go wrong in the other 33.

If ole doesn't win this match. He's not going to make it to next month. Now is the time to start winning matches. They've wasted too many points from an easy start.

Yeah he will. We've not won matches, but we've been the better team in each of them. I don't think the board aren't quite as melodramatic as the bunch of raving lunatics that inhabit this place.

I don't think the board have shown us that they know what they're doing either so I guess it works both ways.

I fully support him, and you're right. This team is playing better. I do hope the board don't get impatient and sack him. It's always going to get ugly before it gets any better. Concede this season if we must, in a worst scenario. Only chance United have of CL is by winning the EL. For this season we simply do not have the players to makes a big impact, if one gets injured, we are screwed. United sold too many with no replacements.

We'll get back to winning ways against Leicester. If only I could remember what they were...

No Pogba. What kind of midfield can we scrape together now?

So Ole has confirmed in his presser that Wan-Bissaka and Lingard could be available but Pogba is out along with Martial, Shaw, Bailly, Dalot & Fosu-Mensah. Typical!

Another match of Rashford and his rubbish performances up top, no Pogba, no Martial. 3-1 Leicester.

Team news isn't great (putting it mildly)

    ------------De Gea------------
    Young--Lindelof--Maguire--Rojo
    ----McTominay----Matic----
    Andreas-----Mata-----James
    -----------Rashford-----------

Subs: Romero, Jones, Tuanzebe, Garner, Gomes, Chong, Greenwood

I would guess if we stick with the 4-2-3-1 that'll be the team. Shame given the team news Ole doesn't go all out and bring Gomes and Greenwood into the XI

Don't really care about the last 3 but Pogba Martial Shaw are big misses.

Who can play? Fred Pereira Matic midfield probably. Who the feck will be our right back? Phil Jones?

Can’t see a win here, and I never say that. A midfield without Pogba is even more horrid than it already is. No Martial too? Shameful as it is, we would need to play as if we were away in the Nou Camp to get anything.

Matic, McTominay and Lingard in one midfield is just terrible. And Ole will likely find a way around playing Mason too.

Rojo will probably have to play left back.

    Hold me.

Actually, I'd rather we had Axel or Jones at RB and Young at LB then Rojo on the pitch.

After that presser, I think Ole will go with the following if both AWB & Lingard are available:

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Young

    McTominay
    Matic

    Lingard
    Mata
    James

    Rashford

    subs:

    Romero
    Tuanzebe
    Williams
    Fred
    A.Pereira
    Gomes
    Greenwood

I know it looks very weak but that’s who we have available, I’m afraid

It was going to be tough before the injuries, but we could be in bother here. Maybe if we invite Leicester to control the game we can sneak in behind? I think we're in for a pretty horrible watch to be honest, either getting controlled and beaten or acting like a plucky away side at Old Trafford.

But that combination of who we have available doesn’t have to be played. It’s a terrible lineup, although likely what we’ll see.

The Pogba bashers will get their wish tomorrow anyway. We’ll see if they like what they see.

It’s not looking great at all and any incline of positivity I had has been pretty much dashed. The only thing this highlights is what a s*** summer transfer window we had. I don’t care about the players we moved on (Herrera, Lukaku, Sanchez etc) but not replacing them was simply just criminal and was always going to come back and hurt us.

Shocks can happen in football. I just sincerely hope we see one tomorrow.

We just have to hope that James/Rashford can come up with a moment of magic and win the game.
I hope the Pogba out crew are going to enjoy this match :)

So basically our only creative outlet is now injured as well, right? Weird that, I had a bizarre dream last night about this game (very brief segment) where I was watching on TV and Pogba suddenly stopped moving, casually walked off the field and down the tunnel with Ole and a few others trying to block him/grab his arm, to no avail.

We are bare bones already, 5 games in:

    --------------------DDG--------------------------
    Tuanzebe----Lindelöf---Maguire-------Young
    --------------McTominay--Matic----------------
    ---------------------Mata------------------------
    Pereira-----------Rashford---------------James

SUBS - Greenwood (Mata), Lingard (Pereira), Fred (Matic).

Feck me, that is like looking at a Brighton starting 11, minus 3-4 players. It's filth. Revising my score, feck it.

    Man United 1 - 3 Leicester City
Rashford for us, Leicester's midfield to dominate and pickpocket ours and score 3 very similar goals on the counter-attack.
