The real winners of this weekends fixtures were Tottenham.

I can't believe they are now second and within 7 points of first.

Incredible, really. Pochettino is a great coach.

We bottled it, we could have been above City if we had finished our chances.

Look, I agree with you that Pogba had a terrible game. That's a fair comment to make. In fact, it looked like the hype got to him, and he was overawed and lost his head a bit.

But to say that he alone cost us the game - that's a bit harsh.

Mkhitaryan, Martial and Carrick failed to influence the game and all showed very little end-product. Rooney was also very poor, he offered very little penetration and his one shot was very very poor.

A lot of players had a bad game. It wasn't just Pogba.

I thought Zlatan had a good game, and Valencia and Herrera played incredibly well!!
I think all of the players you mentioned had decent games. They weren't at their best but the names you mentioned did ok where as Pogba was awful. It was one the worst performances I have ever seen from a United player.

Couldn't give a f*ck how many offside goals we've got the last 2 months, the scousers can cry some more.

Even if a point isfeck all use to.us in climbing the table it stops them going 2nd again which is a result.

Pogba needs to cop on, he's been here long enough now to stop making excuses for him.

Fellaini and Rooney for all the abuse they get on here, it wasn't pretty but they came on and made something happen

So Pogba is shite unless he plays at Zidane's former levels?

Zidane was quite easily one of the best players of the last decade, how is it fair to use him as a benchmark for Pogba? If so, then almost every player in the world (apart from Ronaldo/Messi and maybe a handful more) are utter garbage too.

You are also comparing a young Pogba with Zidane at his peak -- give him a bit more time to mature and develop?

He was poor today but he did not SOLELY cost us the game. A number of players had poor games. I am gutted, this was there for the taking, we bottled it. Definitely two points lost. Especially after the City result. But I still refuse to blame ONE person for the draw.
Didn't we give Ronaldo grief for not showing up in big games? I'm sure you wouldn't call him a fraud. Barely anyone had a good game out there today.
Along with Zlatan, Pogba is the biggest star in this team. If he doesn't perform of course nervousness would spread throughout the whole team.

HE IS 23. In modern days, 23 isn't young anymore, in fact, it was probably never young. At 23, Messi, Ronaldo were leading the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona to UCL trophies. Roy Keane was winning us leagues at 23.

We also paid world record fee for him. We can't just say "Well, he is young, he needs time". At 23 and with the responsibility of world record fee and being the biggest star in the team, he HAS TO turn up week in week out, more so against big teams. It is not unfair at all to judge him against Zidane. When you get paid 290K each week he have to be judged against the best.

He gets far too much lee way from United fans, that's what disappoints me, at Real Madrid he would have been booed. I need wins, I need performances, I don't accept mediocrity. Giving excuses to Pogba for these performances will only bring us more mediocrity, nothing else. Sir Alex would have slaughtered him today after what he has shown today.

I do not know for sure if we will win the title this season. But we will finish above Liverpool. After this game the gap is just 2 points. We will finish above them.
Why is an obliteration wildly optimistic? Liverpool are hardly a defensive side and the way they play always leaves gaping holes in their defence. Their defenders are seriously poor. I think it's entirely possible that we give them a thrashing. A simple win over the Scum isn't enough. We need to eviscerate, disembowel and annihilate them. We need to break their spirits. We need to go all out to rip them apart and show them that their aspirations for the title are nothing more than pipe dreams. A simple 1-0 win won't be sufficient. We need to hammer home goal after goal and make them tap out, like in a UFC match. We need to bludgeon them. Make Klopp wave the white flag and beg for the final whistle.
Martial can come on in the second half when they're tired (and they certainly looked tired as feck against Southampton). His pace will pose a serious problem for them especially with tired legs.

We need to try to score repeatedly. If we lead 1-0 we must not sit back. The objective of this game isn't just a win and 3 points. We need shock and awe. We need a symbolic and statement-making victory. We need to break Liverpool's resolve. This is non-negotiable. It has to be a comprehensive and emphatic ass-whooping the likes of which Liverpool have never experienced, even despite their long years of mediocrity. A repeat of our 8-2 win over Arsenal would be nice. A repeat of Jose's 6-0 win over Arsenal on Wenger's 1000th game would also be nice. We must not try to grind out a result and be satisfied with that.

We need to stop thinking that this is about three points. This is about crushing souls. We need to lay down a marker. This is non-negotiable, I repeat, a simple win is NOT sufficient. We need to send out a very clear statement.
This is also Liverpool, a side who have not even managed to beat Sunderland, Plymouth or Southampton in their last 3 games.

There is no chance of an upset. No chance. Mourinho wouldn't allow that. So much is at stake. The minimum acceptable result for me is 3-0. I want us to go all out.
Did you guys even see how toothless and jaded Liverpool were against the Saints? That was only a few days ago. I wouldn't worry about them beating us. As I've said, my only worry is that Jose will settle for a 1-0 or 2-0 win. We should be looking to send out a strong and emphatic message.
We out-ran you by over 10kms today. Yep, well jaded.

Excellent. That makes two of us. I have $2,000 on a UTD outright victory and $200 on a UTD victory of more than three goals. We are both going to make some serious money tonight, my friend.
Hahaha. Yes, you certainly made a very clear statement and your incomprehensible bias, ranting and over-rating and under-rating of the teams has left you $2,000 poorer. You should have listened to some of your fellow Cafs. I'm sure Liverpool feel well bludgeoned tonight.

You have been an awful WUM through any number of threads with a whole string of horrendous and ill-judged posts. Chickens, roost and all that .. and against a severely under-strength team too.

So Rooney is allowed to play like crap for months, despite being a "legend" as well as the captain and a player with a massive reputation? But Pogba isn't allowed to have one bad game?

What would you do if you were Mourinho? Issue a fine to Pogba? Two weeks' wages? Send him to train with the reserves for a week?

Wasnt a dig bud, genuine question couldnt really tell.
Fair enough! Valencia was offside but I wouldn't be too annoyed about either decision as they are so tight/so little advantage has been gained by either player being in an offside position

Yes, gloat all you want. We had the better chances. We should have won the game. The penalty was harsh and you created far less chances. In fact, I am ashamed that we failed to beat a team that lost badly to Southampton, and couldn't even beat David Moyes' Sunderland.

I actually lost $2,200 but it's just money and I can make it back eventually. I backed my team. I am loyal to my team.

Liverpool however are winless in FOUR GAMES, and you are now THIRD in the table, your title hopes have taken a battering and now TOTTENHAM are above you. If you end up losing the title by exactly two points, you can thank Zlatan and Mourinho.

If you think your team are champions-elect and guaranteed to win the title, think again. You are not as good as you are hyped up to be.

Liverpool did outrun us today and the subs made us even less mobile. Carrick was way off in facing a high tempo team and we had no plan B. Trying to turn that around by putting on slow, slower and then the slowest player we have and play kick it high and long was just depressing to watch. Mikitaryan at leftback? And martial and rashford on the beach? We wireless extremly lucky to grap a point. Darmian is useless attacking wise and Rooney has completly lost the ability to play at this level; his touch is gone and he no mobility at all.

Should also have been offside instead of a corner for the penalty?
Clearly so, but apparently there was an offside in the build up to united's goal as well?

State of those advertising hoardings... feck me.

Why are we bringing Rooney into it at all? Hell, if it was up to me, I'd deport Rooney to China for free.

If I was Mourinho, I'd try to make him more focused on the game, he spends far too much time with social media. He should stop doing all the nonsense with his hair and focus on him improving his game. Doing all these hairstyle nonsense suits you when you have won several Ballon D'Ors like Ronaldo and Messi did. Until he wins something special he should focus on his football.

Rio Ferdinand used to be like him back in 2003, then SAF told him off, then Rio focused more on his football and he became a truly top defender after that.

I'd probably also employ a psychologist to help him deal with nervousness. He gets nervous against big teams. He IS a bag of nerves.

I am not the one proclaiming that Liverpool are champions-elect despite having NO wins in four games, including Sunderland, Plymouth and Southampton.

I actually hope you reverse the first leg result against Southampton in the EFL semis.

I want a UTD vs Liverpool final at Wembley.

In a cup final, at Wembley, we will show you who the better team is, and Jose will deny you a trophy AGAIN.

Thought Rojo played that ball, I'd need to watch it again
He did. So it wasn't offside. Pointless debating it at this stage though .. ditto Valencia's, even if he was offside I'd still put the failure to stop the cross coming in down to Milner & Wijnaldum as they simply didn't mark Valencia at all from the throw-in - he had acres of space in which to receive the pass.

Very fair points. Good post. I agree that Pogba needs to concentrate on his football. Pogba's antics on social media are similar (in a weird way) to Balotelli except less extreme. I don't know how Jose handled Balotelli but I know he loved him despite saying in many interviews that he was crazy as shit and a total nutter.

Perhaps the club could help by not plastering Pogba's face and the words #POGBA all over the advertising billboards around the pitch?

That sort of thing will only create more hype, and possibly lead to a "big-time charlie" mentality in Pogba.

As a 23 year old, remember that he can't be expected to be extremely mature.

I can't believe you are getting all cocky over a DRAW.

Let's just say that the second leg of the EFL semi will be the first time ever that I will be enthusiastically rooting for Liverpool. I hope you win. It would be phenomenal to face you in the final at Wembley.

It is no longer a question of whether we are going to win.

It is a question of how many goals.

I was supporting my team and expressing confidence and optimism BEFORE the game.
Now that the game is over, I have openly admitted that it was a hugely disappointing result, two points lost, and even an embarrassment, considering how many factors were in our favour before the game.

You on the other hand are taking the piss because you DREW the game, look it was a draw, you didn't win 5-0, there is no reason for you to be all cocky AFTER the draw, it's not like you have just clinched the title or anything.

In fact, as a result of today's game, your side (the self-proclaimed champions-elect) are now THIRD, one place below Spurs. Please let that sink in. I have never said that UTD were champions-elect, or guaranteed to win the title, I have said that we can compete for it, yes, but I have never said anything to suggest that the title was ours.

So it's hilarious that you are celebrating a draw like you have just won the World Cup, because that just shows how much you feared UTD before this game. I am disappointed but you seem to be delighted with the result???

Typical of Liverpool's small-time mentality as a club!

What's really getting overlooked here is the amount of self-loathing and self-pitying us Pool fans had to do over the last few days/hours to overturn a pretty strong hold by @Lucky McLuckerson and his magical thread starting abilities. ;)

I know ! Every post he makes has me cringing and feel sorry for the other Caf posters.
How many years has it been since Liverpool won the league?

How many titles does Liverpool have in the Premier League era?

Even Leicester have more PL titles than you, so a bit of humility is in order. We will sort this out when our sides meet at Wembley. Please don't feck up your semi final against Southampton. Please.

Rafateria wasn't being cocky about a draw.... he was replying to your (extremely cocky) comments about what United would do against Liverpool, and saying what he thought your comments were, which most people thought ....

    .... embarrassing.

Supporting United is great, coming out with ridiculous comments and expecting him not to respond is embarrassing. Take it on the chin and focus on the money you (allegedly) lost.

Tough game, fair result and we move on. 10 home and 7 away games left and we're 7 points off the top.
I was expecting more from Pogba to be honest but Zlatan took his goal well. Great penalty by Milner under a lot of pressure and keeping you at arms length by 5 points can be seen as a positive.
We've not had a great run of results recently so I was nervous going into this game but was encouraged by our attitude and work rate. We'll have tougher matches than that before the season's finished as will you but a draw at your place is never a bad result

Just a slightly better manager than Gary Neville apparently.
Why hello @duffer nice of you to drop in. I'm not sure what a UTD / Liverpool game has to do with you, but how is your amazing manager going to fare playing half a season with no dedicated striker? You expect to challenge for the title with no #9?

(In case you're wondering about the relevance of this - remember that Conte is directly responsible for this predicament you find yourselves in)

I think that as UTD fans we have a duty and obligation to adopt an attitude of hostile cynicism towards Liverpool. Reports suggest that their traveling fans were making Munich chants as they got off the traveling supporters bus. They are horrible, insufferable and just really unpleasant. We should have won this game today. If we had taken our chances better it could easily have been 3-0, such was the gap in quality and chances created.

Nonetheless I hope we get to play them again, at Wembley, this season. It would be nice to settle this argument once and for all, after two draws, that Jose's UTD is better than Klopp's Liverpool. And for Jose to (once again) deny them a trophy.
