Our midfield has been absolute crap in all games against really top class opponents this season and it’s hard to know why this will be any different. We are going to struggle tomorrow. Our midfield lacks composure and our defense, particularly in wide areas, is there for the taking by the Liverpool counter attack.
I make you right. We are currently in the second tier of top Teams in Europe with the usual suspects (and I have to include Liverpool) in that given their performances. I love Matic and Herrera but the top teams have one player to do what they do. This allows some flexibility in your midfield. Same defensively. We have two CB's to do what top teams have one player that can do both atttibutes, can be dominant in the air and composed on the ball. Whilst I like Shaw, he doesn't offer enough offensively and Young to me, still looks like a winger covering at full back.

This is nothing new and been the same for a number of years now....it's clear where we need the upgrades

    Talk about pessimism..
And that part about midfield, well it isn't really true.

Well, our midfield helped us beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs, so they can't really be "absolute crap".

You have to= feel for the press, where there is no drama, they have no content and no idea the kind of questions to ask.

    "How will you beat Liverpool?":lol::lol::lol:
What kind of question is that?, Which response are they expecting?

Didn’t really want to get drawn into this but Arsenal and Chelsea are not top drawer teams and Spurs battered us everywhere except the scoreboard.

Maybe from 60th or so minute they were the better side but saying they battered us us is an exaggeration.

Liverpool are bookies favs right now and it's because they are the better team . First goal is massive tomorrow as I can't see either of these teams winning from behind. Player for player they are definitely superior and I hope Ole doesn't go into the 'We are man United so we have to attack ' mode too much . There is a middle ground between parking the bus and being gung ho , you can be aggressive while keeping it tight and that's what we need

It’s all up to us now. Tomorrow will be remembered for a long time in history. When they speak of tomorrow we will rejoice because we know we were vital in defeating evil itself.

    MATIC
    HERRERA POGBA
    SALAH RASHFORD MANE
Maybe go for Henderson over Matic for his mobility.

This was the combined XI when we played at Anfield earlier on in the season.

    Allison
    Arnold Gomez Van Dijk Robertson
    Kieta Milner Pogba
    Salah Firmino Mane

Not that it matters, but I suspect it would be slightly different going into tomorrow's game.

    I would say:

    De Gea
    Young Lindelof Van Dijk Robertson
    Herrera Wijnaldum Pogba
    Salah Rashford Mane

Pogba was out of favour pre and during that Liverpool game, so did he even get in there?

Its a running theme on twitter than everyone in the top 6 cant afford a liverpool title or the world as we know it is over.
Don't post shite meme banter on the forum. I'm not having a go, it's a forum rule and one I agree with.

Almost the same as mine. I have TAA in for Young, which seems like a no brainer. I think Lindelof vs Gomez is close though.

Wow the state of some of you on here and the overreaction to a joke is insane. Ban me over a simple joke? Silly really.

The day Ole starts coping other teams instead of playing with his own strengths is the day Ole's tenure ends as a United manager.
We can continue to implement our style whilst making subtle changes depending on certain teams. ole and the staff have been seen scouting some teams already presumably to get an idea of how to exploit their weakness and try to make us attack in different ways.

Funny when you remember that Spurs have a chicken standing on a basketball as their logo. Otherwise that monstrosity should be destroyed. With fire.

Not worried about this one, out of a combined 11, 2 maybe 3 of their players would get in our team. Salah, VVD and Alexander-Arnold. We've got equal or better in most departments and this will come down to who wants it more.

You look at Liverpool's talk in the press this week, stuff like "United want to stop us winning the league", "We must stop putting pressure on ourselves, it doesn't help", "Playing against United was a learning experience", "I always admired Sir Alex", "Solskjaer has done a great job at United" and "United fixture won't be decisive" all this has come form their manager and players. Tell me they're not mentally prepared to lose this one? Because they're talking as though they've already lost or they just want to get this tie out of the way with.

    Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
I'm not sure if Martial will start. But I did put him in my first 11. I think Lindgard may make the bench.

Whoever plays, I'm certain we will play the United Way.

For me it is an 8.00 am match.
I expect the team to do us proud.
