Not sure what to think really. I can see us turning it on and winning easily, but can also see us struggling and grinding out a dull 0-0 or even a close loss.
So to summarise, you think we'll either win, lose or draw?

We just need to win this...any win against that shower of cnuts is good enough for me...

The best kind of win would be a fecking right good hiding, but I'd take a last minute offside goal, our only shot on goal all day, having been shit all game, hanging on by the skin of our teeth...

    We just need to win...

Absolutely dreading this game, the only positive is that it is at home. If we lose this then pressure really is on Van Gaal.
I'm fairly calm. Aside from a game raising spectacle from the cnuts, we're the superior team and should be winning this without too much hassle. We have also had their number in recent meetings.

Would you drop Rooney for this game?

Considering he isn't in the best form right now and the fact that his record at Anfield is not that great either

We are at home so no. I would like to see this team without rooney though just not for this game. He is really struggling to grasp some of the basic aspects of being a no.9 and I feel it filters through our entire attack. His hold up play, movement and passing have been so poor as of late and he drops deep to much.

You seriously just need to shut the feck up and have a word with yourself after the shite you've spewed in the match thread and now this. You realize they got hammered 3-0 at home to West ham yesterday? fecks sake.
Dude, for this one game, LFC and MUFC will treat it like a cup game.
You know how it is between LFC and MUFC.
So, previous form (almost) goes out of the window.

I would love to see us do something brave and change up what we have, but now is the worst timing and VG is pretty excellent at the big games, credit where it's due, his record at Utd for the big ones is particularly good. For that reason, I think we will see something like:

    Romero
    Darmian Mike Blind Shaw
    Schweinderlin
    Mata Fellaini Depay
    Rooney

Fellaini can't be left out right now, he has scored in his last few appearances and that's something we struggle for recently.

However, if it was a different fixture, I would have loved to see us go forward with this and drop Rooney for 1 game at least to provoke a reaction in his form. I would also like to see Memphis given a break from the XI, he is still young and it's his first season and he was looking tired in the EPL..

I remember when Dimi joined and gave Liverpool a headache (was it his first game?). Could be Martial Law for Liverpool....
The difference was that Berbatov was an experienced striker, who had previous EPL experience and was at the peak of his powers.
Martial is a youth player with no EPL experience. People need to manage their expectations of younger players like Martial, Wilson and Memphis.

I'm not expecting Martial to claim the Golden Boy award in his first year, only that his physical traits will give Lovren a horrible, horrible time....

Looking forward this game, apart from the 2 proper tournaments International football is mostly a bore.
    completely that.
if it wasn't for the glorious feats of football tournies every 2 years I could quite easily cope with them aborting internationals.

Liverpool are a poor side and was frustrated that we didn't beat them - no doubt it had something to do with the sudden change of our entire central defence.

I think United will win this one with Fellaini or Martial scoring the winner.

Our two main men in front of goal - a lumbering midfielder and a kid who hasn't played a minute for us yet

Potentially having Carrick injured for this one is not the nail in the coffin that it was last season. We should cope with Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and/ or possibly even Herrera.

    De Gea
    Darmian-Smalling-Blind-Shaw
    Schweinsteiger-Schneiderlin
    Mata-Herrera-Memphis
    Rooney

subs: Romero, Rojo, Valencia, Fellaini, Pereira, Young, Martial.

Early team prediction. Hopefully no additional injuries in the remaining international games.

I'm just wondering when we are going to 'click'. LVG can talk the talk, now he also has to walk the walk. Please show us the source of your arrogance o Dutch one.

My grandma's (God rest her soul) current physical attributes would give Lovren a horrible, horrible time. Hopefully, we play Sakho otherwise this could be the first of Rodgers' last few games for us.

They really need to revamp the qualifying system to cut down on the amount of dull international breaks interrupting the season.

Liverpool are not going to sit two lines of defence in front of us. We saw last season (Spurs and Liverpool games) and this year against Brugge, when sides actually play football against us we do well. Leave Fellaini on the bench in case they do employ those tactics but start the game with Herrera.

Same here. Been waiting for us to click since last season, barring the good run we had when we beat Spurs, Pool and City.

We shall 'click' when the process is is completed. No sooner, no later.

Why are you trying to drive a wedge in between Louis and Ed? They trust each other and shall never ever be separated.

    Oh Micheal Oliver again!!
    Guidelines to follow:

    - No one goes closer than 5m from the ref. Else you might get a red.
    - If a Pool player slaps you, you show the other cheek. If you slap back, you might get a red with other player not getting anything
    - Don't stare at the ref, you might get yellow or even red
    - If you feel like pulling his shirt wear a Kompany mask before you do it.
    - If you feel like headbutting him, put your Joe Hart mask on.
    - Watch out for any flying kicks from their keeper. The chances are that Oliver would not be able to spot it.

I'll take any win against this lot, but I've gone for 0-0 in the prediction.

Usually, when both teams have been shit like thus far, I'd expect it all to click and have an exciting match where defence comes second. However, I just can't see it this time. Dire match, but hope I'm wrong.

de Gea should be back in for Romero. I expected LvG to bring de Gea back in after the transfer window was over and Romero made a mistake in the future. But he was absolute shite at Swansea so he can go on the bench immediately. Rest of the line-up the same.

I would go with following XI:

    Rooney
    Depay - Herrera - Mata
    Schweinsteiger - Schneiderlin
    Shaw - Blind - Smalling - Darmian
    De Gea

    Subs:
Romero, McNair, Rojo, Pereira, Fellaini, Young, Martial
With De Gea getting 90 minutes for Spain tonight I actually think he's up for it. Bit harsh on Romero but this ain't no charity and De Gea is the much better goalkeeper.
And, as always, form doesn't matter when it comes to games like this but I really think we're going to batter them on Saturday. With 10 minutes to go and 2-0 up I think LvG will throw in Martial and he will get a goal straight away.

There is surely no way Romero is going to start this one. No way.
