Team will be very standard with Bruno, Case (or Amrabat) and McTom in the middle, Rashford and Antony on the wings doing absolutely nothing of value, and Maguire/Lindelof in defence.

It's sad to think that a combined 11 wouldn't feature a single United player, maybe even if you include the bench!

I'm going to guess 0-5 and I think I'm being pretty optimistic!

We will surely lose. We don’t really win games we are expected to lose under ETH
Apart from the Barcelona games. And the city game at OT last season. And the game against Arsenal at home last season, and the Liverpool game at home…

Should play Mount here. His energy will be very useful against these.

    2-0 United.

Don't know how, or why, and there's no reasoning whatsoever, but I reckon it's happening.

Id be tempted to just flood the midfield with 6 players, Rashford and Bruno among them and see how they deal with it Theyre good in midfield because their manager is obsessed with turning any player into a midfielder the bald prick.

    The team I'd play:
    Onana
    Dalot Varane Lindelof Reguilon
    Casemiro Amrabat Mount
    Bruno
    Hojlund Martial
I'd defend in a compact 4411 formation with Bruno and Mount covering the fullbacks where Man City likes to overload to create space for the likes of Bernado and Foden. Leave Hojlund on the last defender to stretch their back line, and have Martial behind him to receive the ball with his back to goal to link up and launch our counters.

ETH is bound to play Rashy though, so let's all hope this is the game he decides to play well.

Christ no. Can only presume you'd have bet on City to win playing this team.

I know it's Halloween but that's a bit too scary.

    I'd go with something like:

Onana, Amass, Maguire, Varane, Dalot, Casemiro, Mainoo, Hannibal, Rashford, Højlund, Fernandes

Obviously Amass won't play, but as much as I admire Reguilon's willingness, he is constantly out of position. Also, Amrabat's performance at left back against Palace is still giving me nightmares.

Centre mid is an issue because Casemiro and Mainoo are only just returning from injury. We can sub them for the likes of Amrabat, Mount, McTominay, Gore and Eriksen if need be. Hannibal starts due to his Fred-like intensity.

Rashford and Bruno are underperforming, but I'm still not convinced that Garnacho is ready to start matches, while Antony is just flat out poor.

I don't see how we are getting something out of this game. Hope is just not to be embarrassed. If the ship starts sinking(and it very likely will), (some)players will just give up, like we all know they do(Bruno, Rashford, Dalot...).

In order for us not to be absolutely killed, midfield probably needs to be without Bruno, but that will never happen. Casemiro/Amrabat - Mainoo/Hannibal/Eriksen - Mount. And/or just put Bruno on the right wing(if he has to play for some reason, and we all know he has to under ETH) to spam crosses and occasional Hollywood long balls to Rashford/Hojlund, Antony is useless, harmless anyway.

This game will be over after 20 mins.

We'll have a strong start, force ederson into a save, but city will score in the 5th and 18th min, then will control the game from then on. All depends on their mood after that, if they want they could score another 3 or 4, or they might just bunker down and rest their energy levels.

    Gonna get shagged aren’t we

I’ve seen nothing all season that would suggest we can put in the 90 minutes required to win this one. Every win has been a grind that we’ve been fortunate to get any points from.

10 years of playing second fiddle to City. I’m sick of it tbh.

I don’t think they will clobber us like they are wont to, but I don’t expect anything but a loss. We might even take the lead, but the house of cards will fall apart as soon as they score once, which will probably be within a couple of minutes of us scoring.

    City win 3:1, Haaland brace.

    __Rashford ______garnacho

    __antony_amrabat__casimero
    Reguilon__maguire_varane_dalot

Go with the current madrid set up but give Antony the di maria role on the left side of midfield and allow him to transition to the left wing when in possession of the ball, one good thing about him is he will track back and put in a defensive shift and is better at ball retention than mctominay, play on the break with our best ball carriers that can work the flanks as we don't have anyone that can hold the ball up and City will clearly dominate us

I hope if Casemiro starts, he's fit and not just thrown in because of his reputation. If we try and play football against this lot we will suffer. Best to revert to 'Ale house' football and defend in numbers and hoof it upfield for Rashford and Hojlund to chase or is that what we do anyway?

Don't ask me why (because I cannot explain it...) but I have a feeling that we may actually make a game of this. City are a little flat (for them..), and I suppose we are due a game when we just 'click' a bit.

No real basis for this view..lol.. just a feeling. I do hope Garnacho, Mount and Eriksen start and play all game. Why not? we can't play much worst and we need something different.

    This thread is am embarrassment.
"Supporters" trembling and bowing to the mighty City.
Too many football spectators (I'm not saying fans, because nothing suggests you are fans) became know-it-alls.

It's football. Anything can change with a kick of the ball. Nothing is granted, nothing is certain.
Support your team and hope for the best.

Don't be such a pathetic "oh no they'll smash us" crowd.

We are the fecking Manchester United for fecks sake!

Let's go and get a great result

and completely unrealistic... part of the problem is the owners see things like this and reckon we don't care. well, stuff that: I'll call it how it is and the more I think about tomorrow's game, the more I worry.

Under the other poster's rules, we'd have had to expect to never have won the treble because "everything cn change with one kick of the ball", which, by the way, is utter garbage

Yup, the most likely outcome is a devastating and thorough beating like the away game last season. Also a slim chance that we score once or twice on the counter and get a result. My prediction 1-5. We are not a serious club any longer.
