Haha, yeah we did. Man, I think Martial might have a screamer. There's going to be space to attack, he might just boss it.

This is about winning. The impact it could have.... No matter how we do it, we need to win.

Some key battlegrounds as I see it:
Sterling vs Darmian - poor Matteo got torn a new one a few weeks ago against Arsenal; this is the time to redeem himself. Sterling has tended to roam a little more in his last few games for City, but I still think he's most dangerous out wide, where he can stretch the play and provide space for his teammates. Usually he likes to run with the ball rather than run in behind, so hopefully Darmian stands off him a bit, rather than getting caught high up the pitch like he did vs Sanchez.

Schneiderlin vs De Bruyne - Not a whole lot to be said here, we just need a big performance from this man. I'm terrified of De Bruyne.

Martial vs Sanga/Otamendi - He'll cause problems for both City's fullback and right sided CB. Otamendi has been a tad error prone since coming to City, so if I were Van Gaal I'd have Martial target the spaces between CB and RB, and have players look to find Martial early. In fact, there's actually an argument for having him switch flanks with Mata, given the threat Kolarov poses down the other side. Kolarov would be either less inclined to get forward due to Martial's pace, or else leave spaces in behind.

Rooney vs Otamendi/Mangala - Rooney needs to stay high and occupy the CB's. Against CSKA he constantly came deep and slowed the play down, I'd much rather he be high up the pitch making a nuisance of himself for City's defence. In the same fixture last season, he provided a quiet but very important performance, hovering between the two CB's and keeping them occupied, which really helped to provide space for other players. A similar performance on Sunday would be invaluable.

Paul Merson actually predicted us to win 2-1! What a revelation!

I never thought I'll see the light of the day.

surely it's Zabaleta rather than Sagna? And if Kolorov/Clichy are still out Sagna will be on the left?

Is Kolarov still out? Thought he was back. Yeah it might be Zabaleta, but Pellegrini does seem to pick Sanga in a lot of big games.

The thing that gives me a bit of confidence is that City have given whoever they have faced a host of chances this season.

do you think Kolarov is fit to play? There should be a good chance from the wings, Zabaleta after injury and Sagna not at his best...

Kolarov played against Sevilla. I expect him to start this weekend.

I believe we also have the best possession stats.
The problem is that Man City have scored 24 goals. We have scored 15.
Still, this game can go in either direction, but I do believe we are favourites, as it is a home game.

MUFC are 2nd in the Home Form league table.

Man City are 6th in the away form league table.

Statistically, we are favourites to win this.

As much as I don't want to sound like a Bluemoon poster, my City supporting mate (actually, my hairdresser) thinks we'll hammer them..not that his opinion means anything of course. Think he was just trying to cover his back in case we do beat them.

Hoping for a win. This City side don't stroke fear into opponents like their 1937 Division One winning side did.

One of a kind team that. History makers.

    The reason City exist!

I get the feeling this is going to have the feel of a cup tie. I think it's going to be scrappy and nervy. I want to see us come straight out and score early, I want to get the crowd as loud as possible and go for it from the off.

    Would love to see;

    DDG
    Darmian Jones Smalling Blind
    Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger
    Mata Herrera Young
    Martial
If Young is injured (I think he is, right?) then Memphis LW.

    -------Spanish Dave
    Darmian--Smalling--Blind--Rojo
    -----Carrick--Schneiderlin
    -------Schweinsteiger
    Mata-----------------Martial
    ----------Rooney

Could see Valencia coming in to RB and Darmian playing at LB either.

Both might play anyway. Blind and lb with Jones at cb, obviously.
Yeah, that's a possibility -- not sure it'll happen though. Blind at LB against Sterling, De Bruyne, and whatever other speed merchant they want to throw at him. Rojo would be a better fit imo.

Will be interesting to see who LVG will go for in midfield. I don't want a combo of Carrick-schweini as we will get overrun. I would start the Schmidfield.

    1) Schneiderlin has to start. If LVG goes with Carrick/BFS again, we're screwed

    2) Mata better be back in the team

    3) Really hope Jones starts with Smalling

    4) Feck knows who'll play at left back

I'd still bet on City to lift the league trophy but I really like our chances of beating them in this fixture.

    2-1

Big game, both teams are in good state, hope that trip to Moscow doesn't affect us. Hard to predict this one, if we play the same squad that played Everton then we have a big chance to win this one.

Quite shocked how many city fans seem to be lacking confidence going into this game.

Round at a mate's today who's dad is a massive blue, and My dad's later who works with a few, all apparently fancy United.

Saying that, i can fully believe Martial could have a blistering game against City. Id fancy him up against any of their defence at the moment, and if he's put on the left wing again and comes up against Zabaleta, he could have a field day.

Still think id take a draw and think we did well enough getting through October relatively unscathed.

We're at Old Trafford. I'd back us to beat anyone apart from a full strength Barcelona at Old Trafford, and even then we'd put up a fight.
