Yet a win would make the rest of the Europa group games that bit easier.
Exactly. I'd like him to go for it, 2 games before the break. At close to full strength we still smash these. Just needs to get his tactics right for a change

Like been said before. If you ever miss a presser all you have to do is copy and paste form the last one

I'm hoping for a 433 for the same reason, just not full if faith in Oles team selections at the minute. European game after a loss? Can see him going for not losing rather than the win.
Just for once I would like to see us play a classic 4-4-2. Not keeping my fingers crossed though

Yep. He does make very predictable statements, but so do a lot of managers. They are usually answering the usual predictable questions from the press. You just wish for once someone who ask a really awkward question.

Using Chong and James on the wings I think that'd be ok, defensive work would be there. Martial and Greenwood upfront.

I would opt for Martial and Rashford up front with James and Greenwood on the wings, McTominay and Fred in the midfield

    ---------------------Romero--------------------
    AWB--------Jones-----------Maguire---Williams
    Greenwood---McTominay--Fred------James
    -----------Rashford-------Martial--------------

I would rather see Tuanzebe partnering Maguire but I think he's still injured and Lindeloff needs a rest. But of course we will end up with a 4-2-3-1 which will probably look like this:

    ------------------Romero------------------
    AWB-----Jones----------Maguire---Williams
    -----------McTominay--Fred---------------
    James-------------Mata------------Rashford
    ------------------Martial--------------------

We need to win this one to guarantee our place into the knockout round so I don't think we will be giving both Marital and Rashford a rest. If/when we win this game I can see us playing the kids more for the remaining fixtures

Agree with this and the best about it is we wouldn't be seeing Mata, Pereira or Lingard which is an obvious plus.

Players should be rested for these sort of games but I think Ole is on a game by game basis on terms of results. If he loses it's another nail in his coffin which makes me think he'll play almost a full strength team. Rashford on the left, James on the right, Martial and Greenwood up top with McT and Fred sitting in the middle would be interesting to see.

I think those are only reserved for eglomaniacs like LVG and Mou who would blow their top if their tactics are brought into question by journalists. I could just imagine Ole sitting there with a startled deer impression which would just make the journos look like bullies. Sign of the times.

When we have a bad performance, why not ask 'As you say you are working on tactics on the training pitch, why is it not working in the games?' You then know he will take time. So then ask 'Why do other new managers have no problem getting their style across and are getting results?'

Because, because, because.... Startled deer expression :D

I know you're not a psychologist (probably) but what was Oles mood like in the presser? In the Pre Bournmouth presser I've never seen him looking so flat.

I don't know how he looked. I was just doing it from the newspaper. That was out before MUTV I think. He has not been as chipper as when he started. I honestly think the job is wearing him down a bit, but it has done that to the last three as well.

On criticism of the United squad
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I know what I see every day, day in day out. The boys are out there working as hard as possible to try and get results. We’re not going to let the loss to Bournemouth dampen our spirits. We’ve got games coming up that we believe now are winnable games. We need to try to keep putting points on the board.
No such of thing as winnable games especially for this current United team. Even Liverpool needed a 94th minute winner to beat Aston Villa and City were beaten at home by Wolves.

Young reckons United have a great squad and having Ole as manager is like having Fergie back. Some mind boggling stuff from a lad who should be playing out the end of his career at some mid table championship team instead of captaining and starting games for United.

Has to give a few of the first team lads a rest surely, not sure who is injured and who is back (like a merry go round at the minute with injuries) but all being well I would go with.

    Romero
    Young - Jones - Rojo - Williams
    Garner - Fred
    Lingard - Gomes - Chong
    Greenwood

Btw has Shaw actually died? Honest to god the amount of shite injury prone players we pay is ridiculous.

    Would have like to have seen Maguire have a rest but short of picking Jones and Rojo together I guess there's no other choice;

    Romero

    Young Maguire Rojo Williams
    Fred Garner
    Lingard Mata Rashford
    Martial

We absolutely don't care about this game, like 80% of our games now.

We are such in a bad state that we are not even willing to watch this game.

    Romero

    AWB
    Jones
    Rojo
    Williams

    Fred
    Mc Tominay

    Lingard
    Mata
    Chong

    Greenwood
Stew in yor own misery, I get excited and giddy every time we have kickoff.

I knew that would cause a problem when I posted it. He is probably just hedging his bets, but that last line is bound to upset some.
Why ? Did you expect 6 new deals in january...

He is clearly saying he wants at least 2 in - and if we get the right players in and get a fit Pogba back, it will make a huge difference.

I think Ole will rest the key players. Rashford, James and AWB all need a rest. Ok with our alternative back four (Williams, Rojo, Jones and Laird.)
But we are thin in the middle and even thinner up front after we rest key players. Big drop-off with the 2nd stringers.

It will be a dull affair.

1-0 United to be followed by the predictable Ole out protests.

It will probably be a 4-2-3-1 unfortunately. I just don't want it to be. Mind you, I think it will be Mata starting in the #10 as he hasn't started a game in a while...

So Lindelof is slightly injured? Well, I’ll play Maguire, rest Rashford, Bissaka, James & McTomminay. Young won’t be available in the weekend so no question he will play tomorrow. I’ll still keep away Mata & Matic from starting XI. Or may be I’ll rest Williams and give Laird his debut

    Romero
    Jones - Maguire - Rojo
    Young - Garner - Fred - Williams
    Lingard
    Greenwood - Martial

Although I wouldn't be upset if Lingard started for example, maybe in place of Martial up front even. Don't want to see Rashford or James anywhere near that first XI. Give them a break.

I think we have a good chance to grab a win, if my analysis is correct. Especially if Martial can go from good to great mood on this occasion we'll see patterns of play. Also if Rojo has huge tantrums in him, it'll help us play on the front foot.
