So does Mata. This red zone he talks about. I would love to know how he decides who is in it.
I'm sure he googles "Most trending word of the day" first thing in the morning. Philosophy, Process, Luck, Red Zone. It's always some word in the hot news for a couple of weeks before the next one comes along.

I'm probably guessing something to do with the Sports Science Dept ? And also Young's own opinion on it.

Problem with the squad he has picked is that he could pick a really good side and get it right, or pick a side with glaring weaknesses and make us look stupid. If and how he uses Fellaini could be interesting. I would not have him with BFS, too slow.

    Red Zone:
If a player has just returned from long term injury, he is in the red zone.
if the player's first name is Phil. Surname Jones. Red zone.
In fact, I believe the term "red zone" was made for Phil Jones. :p

Can we change our minds in the score prediction?

Seems you can only set a result once.

    We'll smash them, 4/5-0.
Our tactics are effective against teams that are more likely to make mistakes. They didn't work against 'Boro because defensively they're as good as a PL team. Should have no problem with a mid league 1 side.
    Probably Jinxed it now :)

LVG's trademark since the 1990s is to throw buzzwords to the media to lead them in a merry dance. He mastered it and explains how it's done during his road shows to Dutch businessmen. However, it has backfired especially when the journalists replied with withering criticism while he was at Bayern at the height of the troubles. It's surprising how long it has taken the UK journalists to pick up on his word games.

Is that really true? because, if it isn't, your sarcasm is beautifully brilliant and epic!

I want the FA-cup so badly (prob because that was the only thing we won when I was growing up) so no fecking about please. It's also the one trophy we have a realistic chance to win. Just a few rests please and I fecking cant understand why Schneiderlin is not in the squad... Ddg Darmian Smalling McNair Blind Memphis Herrera Schweinsteiger Martial Rooney W Keane

I wonder why Schneiderlin is not with the squad, his role in our midfield isn't one any of the others are very good at.

I've gone for an optimistic 2 nil win for us:nervous:

Seriously, we should really smash them. Otherwise I really don't know what we're up to if the team can't go out and give a good arse kicking against inferior opposition (no offence to Sheffield's supporters).

    I went with 2-1.
Although this is not an easy game, it is a home game which is definitely winnable.

I would say he's being rested for the midweek games but he's hardly played recently so I'm not sure. Same with Carrick.

If United even draw this game, I can expect this place to erupt into new found frenetic levels of anger.

Plus at 26 and fit as a fiddle he doesn't seem the type we'd need to rest, certainly no more so than say Herrera who is another high energy player who has played more than him.

Schneiderlin is a bit injury prone though, and was injured recently, so it could be that he's just protecting him. Not sure with Carrick though, he has hardly played so shouldn't need too much rest right now.

I actually thought Carrick would play in this game. Maybe he wants his experience away at Newcastle and Liverpool?

We needn't bother playing a defensive midfielder in a home game to a League one side. It's only annoying when we don't have him on the pitch against teams who we actually need someone to break up play against (another reference back to that Arsenal game).

Yup this really is a no win situation for LvG. If we win 3-0(my prediction) then it's Sheffield Utd what do you expect they are 8th in League One for a reason, but if we draw or lose to these then she wont be able to take it Captain.

I imagine he feels Schweini needs the 90 under his belt and doesn't want to use the Carrick and Bastian duo against a hard running side.

You need a hoilding CM no matter who you play, someone to help the CB's and especially against a robust side from a lower league that will get stuck in.

Who will he play as the holding midfieder? Really it only leaves BFS? Fellaini is a liability and it would be a of waste Herrera.

Sadly no credit just observing the machinations of modern footy.

All managers have trademarks, what they say and how they promote themselves - this all part of the business. In the past Fergie spoke more freely, natural and was quite colourful before he became a business entity. Now he relies on others to graft his words in print then he speaks them.

LVG crafts words to suit situations - for example the play on 'resign'. When he first arrived he was all technical and even had charts. That was a means to attract the media now he distracts in much the same way that Cantona offered sardines to seagulls.

Red Zone Jones is his name from now on, then!

Or just Red Zone for short, if you like.

    Or Phil Zones.

I think he has to play Schweini there and let Herrera be the #8 in the double pivot, unless he's planning on playing Blind in midfield and McNair with Smalling.

I really don't want a replay, but obviously I wouldn't want to lose just to avoid that.

Just gives us wins. We need to actually start gaining momentum. Another shoddy result after our first win in yonks against Swansea will just put us back to square -4.
