Ole is keeping us going with the players available. Really should get the job if we get top four surely.

It's even worse than you think we've beaten them once in their last 5 visits to OT.

    1-1 13/14
    0-1 14/15
    0-1 15/16
    2-0 16/17
    0-0 17/18
I didn't even remember the 1-1 under Moyes, obviously erased that entire season from my memory (not that the others since have been much better)

That 1-1 with Moyes was the first time it dawned on me that he really wasn't the man for the job. Pretty sure RVP opened the scoring then Moyes made negative substitutions which invited pressure and they equalised late on - Lovren or Fonte with a late scrappy goal.

Yep dont remember that one at all

I remember the away game (also 1-1) but that's only because it was the last game of the season (and Giggs' final game as manager) and Mata scored a great free kick

They won tonight but they aren't very good so we should win this, I'd like to see 3 changes from tonight though.

totally disagree , the team played well , CP is not an easy place to go , the second half they made us fight hard.
Why give Gomes a start ? from what I have seen he is not ready.
If he is fully fit start Rashford and put Alexis on the bench, but thats the only change I would make.

Same team as yesterday, no need to rush players back as we need a fit squad for the run in, 4th place is going to be tight.....

I think the same XI are enough to win it. Obviously give Martial a handful of minutes if he's 100% fit.

As for PSG, I honestly rather we started a B team and hope they show mercy.

If it means playing in Europe next season, then yes I would take it.
OK so not ideal , but better then NO european football.
It's not. The constant Thursday-Sunday games, the travelling to the arse end of Europe, it's just horrible. I'd rather we finished 8th than have to go through the Europa League again

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
Unbelievable (given that we were 8 behind Arsenal, 11 behind Chelsea and 13 off Spurs – with 0 GD when Jose left) that by Saturday afternoon we could be 4th and just 3 points off Spurs if the NL derby is a stalemate. If we beat Southampton by any sort of margin we'll narrow the GD down too!

Do you believe we have a chance in Paris without Pogba, Matic and potentially Herrera?

Obviously I don't want a big loss but I would rather give some fringe players minutes there and keep our strongest team for the league.
Yeah even with important players missing I truly believe 06/03/19 will go down as one of the great European nights.

Well I really hope you are right. Looking forward to it for sure, even with depleted our squad.

What are you disagreeing with? I didn't say we played badly against Palace and Rashford is starting in the team I posted, but we still need a 3rd forward and I'd give Gomes a chance but wouldn't mind if it was Chong or Greenwood either, just any of them other than Sanchez.

I like Sanchez now, he doesn't shout at his team mates and is sort of trying  But I agree. Gomes could be great, he can follow Lukaku around and take care of his touches while Lukaku bully players around him.

I think Greenwood might be in with a shout as well. He did travel with the team.
Greenwood would be great to see, he's seems to be the golden boy from the academy right now and maybe he hasn't been injured but being intergrated in training, ready for a surprise start, I'd be happy with any of the young forwards getting that 3rd spot.

We have to rotate right? Shaw looked dead at the end last night. Might be a good time to give Rojo a game. Fred and Pereira deserve to continue if the others are not fully fit.

Same 11, but with Young wing and Dalot RB, for me.

Rashford as an impact sub again, even with the pathetic Sanchez we should have enough to win relatively comfortably against Southampton, in my opinion.

SUBS - Rashford (Sanchez), Garner (Fred), Bailly (Shaw)

    I'm going for......

    Man United 2 - 0 Southampton
    Pogba, Lukaku.

Just remember Ole’s been breaking records since he took over.
So previous history means nothing now.

    Here’s hoping anyway.

    And they're shit TBH.

We're better than when we played them in the last 2 years. Comfortable win.

Rest Pogba. Obviously it's far from ideal with all our injuries, but he didn't look fresh against Palace and suffered a knock too. Wouldn't want to risk another injury. Besides, he's unavailable for PSG so the game against Soton is the one chance we have left of playing the midfield that will play against PSG and create some chemistry. Then there's Rashford. He lacked his usual energy when he came on against Palace. Not fit yet is he. Shouldn't start him. Need him fit for PSG and we need both Pogba and Rashford to be fully fit against Arsenal. Taking this into account here's how I'd line up against Soton:

    DDG
    Young - Smalling - Lindelof - Shaw
    Pereira - McTominay - Fred
    Dalot - Lukaku - Sanchez

Bench: Romero, Bailly, Rojo, Garner, Chong, Pogba, Rashford (for emergencies)

Truth is, we're in a very bad spot. OGS and the team got us out of it once now, can he do it again?

We'll beat nobody with that midfield

What's the alternative? Those three are the only ones available against PSG. So we're going to see it anyway. The question is do we want to risk Pogba getting injured ahead of Arsenal (must win). We could take off a midfielder and play with three CB's (Lindelof, Smalling, Bailly) but considering we play Soton at home and we must score against PSG that's not exactly ideal either.

We need to beat Southhampton too and Pogba will get a rest for the PSG game so the very obvious alternative is to not drop Pogba for the Southampton game.

Yeah, we can always let some of the academy players have some games there. do not really understand why people are against more games. it may influence our charge for the title/top 4 in the second part of the season, but if it does, it means that we're doing it right and that we're at an advanced stage of the cup. so all good for me.

Very obvious and very risky considering he didn't look fit at all against Palace. Ole is known to take these risks so he's probably going to play but I'd prefer we don't take the risk.

I think if we ever want to get some form out of Fred, we need to give him more games. Dropping him for this one just holds him back further, and with the current list of injuries we need everyone match fit. I'd give him another 60 mins, and play him centrally, he was too far left last night.

We're not gonna beat PSG away from home with our injuries and Pogba suspended so forget about resting players for that game. We need to concentrate on the league now.

With all the big games within the top 4 recently and in the next couple of weeks - these games are quite obviously must wins.

A draw in the North London Derby would be bliss. A battle for third with Tottenham Bottlurs and Arsenal and us, I can only see us winning it.

Southampton under their new manager have been impressive on the whole. Still think we’ll be too much for them.

No point resting Pogba when he’s suspended against PSG anyway.

He will have a week off after the game. He's not injured. We wont beat Southampton with the team you suggested.

I'm not willing to give up on Champs League yet and without the fortune of injuries and a pathetic ref, PSG are beatable. I'm that basis we have to take a balanced risk with the Saints and rotate slightly in prep for the PSG game

    De Gea
    Dalot, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw

    Perreira, Mctom, Fred

    Lukaku, Rashford, Sanchez

    Subs
Romero, Bailley, Young, Pogba, Garner, Gomes, Greenwood (or Chong if still carrying a knock)

I don't want to risk Martial, particularly as this is an ideal game to bring through youngsters who need game time to develop. Dalot needs experience at the same time that Young can't be overused, while benching Pogba is due to his European suspension and the need to give this 2nd string midfield a rehersal. He's on the bench in case things go wrong

Same team for PSG, with Young and Martial in for Dalot and Sanchez

What is the point in benching Pogba? He is banned for a PSG game and will have a rest then.

I wouldn't trust a midfield of Fred, Periera and McTomminay to beat Southend. Choosing them against Southampton despite having Pogba available would be mental. We cant afford to drop points due to silly risks

Time for a mishmash of a team(De Gea, Pogba + 9 others)with PSG in mind.
Feck the PSG game. Rest everyone for it and play the kids - we’re not scoring 2 goals and keeping a clean sheet there.

    League is far more important.
