Surely at this point a draw, regardless of how we play, must be considered a defeat?

I hope we win, and think we should, but a loss or even a draw has to be enough to cut our losses with LvG

We seem to say this after every match now.....
I can't help but feel if we'd played that 0-0 against Chelsea first and then lost to Stoke second then he'd have been sacked.

I think they couldn't after Stoke because it was too short notice before Chelsea, and then the better performance vs Chelsea saved him a while longer.

If it proves a false dawn and we revert back to being shite against Swansea at home and he isnt sacked, then I simply give up and will accept he's going to be here losing for 26 years

I know this goes completely against the idealogy of supporting your team..

But is it bad I want us to lose because that is the only way to get rid of the negative management and decision making that LVG brings?

I have never been so bored watching us play than this season, and now the results have stopped too.

I love United but I just cannot stand the arrogant, useless means of managerial prowess being worked at our club today.

And also - Im sick to death of people blaming the squad, look at the form table then the league table, check the squads of the teams sitting above us and I'll be damned if we don't have one of the best teams/squads in the league, even if it isn't perfect.

The players arent playing for him and his tactics and substitutes are baffling to the point of where you used to take a job of a club in Football Manager you dislike in order to intentionally fcuk them up.

My 2 cents, written in an angry mood so I didnt care about the bias....

    Still laughing at Scousers.
Exciting times, best not lived in according to a Chinese proverb. Win this and we stay in the race. Buy some players to add firepower and defensive options and we might still challenge at the end of the season. Draw and we tread more water, lose and it's beginning to get hairy. I think we will scrape a 1-0 win but remain unconvincing as challengers.

You've already said you don't care. So why are you asking us if it's bad?

I said I didnt care about the bias; don't misquote me.

Also, ever heard of a rhetorical question.....?
Sorry. I don't think the club have found the kind of manager they want to replace him otherwise, he would have been fecked off IMO. Until that time I hope the club gets the results that gets us into the top 4 cause that is paramount. When we are sure we can get someone like Pep or Pochettino, then by all means sack him.

Some easy points for Swansea to pick up, either via a draw or a win.

I fancy us to actually win one for a change, only because Swansea are pretty crap this season and are struggling with scoring goals.

    1-0 United

After match predication - Various threads saying 'HAS LVG TURNED THE CORNER?' when the reality is no, LVG the master of the false dawn will strike again.

If we come out with the same mentality and gameplan we had versus Chelsea, we should win this game.

    De Gea
    Darmien - Smalling - Jones - Blind
    Schneiderlin - Herrera
    Young - Mata - Depay
    Martial

Be good to win this well playing with the same tactical approach and mentality against Chelsea

Bring in a couple of players and go on a run

I want Van Gaal gone by Summer regardless though

We should go for the same line up as the Chelsea game and get some consistency. A different defence, midfield and attack every game is not helping us, how can any kind of partnerships build up?

    Would like to see this:

    de Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Borthwick-Jackson
    Schneiderlin
    Mata - Herrera - Schweinsteiger - Young
    Martial
I expect van Gaal will persist with Rooney though and that we'll go with the same team that started vs Chelsea. Hopefully Pereira gets some minutes too, can't be any worse than Memphis at the moment.

This is the team I'll go with. The likes of Memphis and Mata haven't preformed so much this season but still have their best years ahead of them. The young players should be entrusted with more responsibilities. There is no point looking to players that cannot improve and are on the decline. These are the future of United.

I'll be happy not to see Rooney, Fellaini, Valencia and to a lesser extent Carrick and Young in the starting line up anymore.

Would it be possible to change the rules and have a 0-0 scoreline registered as a win for the... home team?

I have bashed Rooney for years for not being the player he was and for what I felt was very low effort, but I have to say I though I started to see the old Rooney against both Stoke and Chelsea. So I am a bit surprised that people want to drop him now.

I would stick with the same side that played Chelsea, though I am tempted to have Young on the RW for Mata, and Varela at RB for Young. I think with Young and Martial running at the defense we would have more chance of success. Second half introduce Depay, he needs to see what win play means in the PL.

Why am I confident of a comfortable victory here? There's no reason to be, but I am. 2-0 cruise.
Because Swansea is among the easiest teams to play against in the league at the moment. Sunderland, Aston villa, Chelsea, United and maybe a couple other teams are lowest on confidence and the teams probably want to face more then any other. Newcastle slightly above those 4.

Maybe he was better but nothing like the old Wayne Rooney. That Rooney faded just before or during Fergie's last season. He only looked better against Stoke because he had only 45 minutes to play of which the last 20 minutes were crap. Against Chelsea was a player slightly better than his previous 4/10. This is my reason for wanting him dropped. But what do I know eh?

I didn't see Rooney's performance against Stoke but he was far from the Rooney of old against Chelsea.

His first half was decent by his recent standards, he held up the ball quite well and tested Courtois from range. He didn't do a lot else though, besides failing to take on a flat-footed Terry and failing to convert the cross from Borthwick-Jackson.

He received far too much credit from the BT Sport pundits and deserved to be sent off near the end too.

Maybe he was better but nothing like the old Wayne Rooney
I should have been more specific, he controlled the ball a lot better, he ran with passion for balls he was unlikely to win, he was aggressive and his passing was a lot better. Maybe not to the level of a young Rooney, but clearly considerably better than Rooney post 2011.

Still not feeling the love you guys have for Schneiderlin. Can't see what he brings to the team ? Please be assured that I hang my head in shame as I write this but I hope Swansea beat us on Saturday.

I'm so steamed because van Gaal's smugness has returned after that mediocre display against Chelsea, thinking he's untouchable again.

I just dread to think what's going to happen if he stays for the rest of the season. While I would not wish a defeat on United intentionally, only a continued run of bad results will expedite his removal.

That being said, it will probably be a 0-0 or 1-0 to the Swans.

Nah, we're going to strike back for this one. The Stoke defeat was easy to predict, it was pretty much written in the stars, and Chelsea was a bit "might win might lose", but this game, I can see a home win here. We'll have a lot to prove and the players will be up for it, plus Swansea aren't too intimidating at the moment. I'm not going to predict a defeat just for the sake of being negative!

he was better. Still seemed far from fully finding his self belief.

    LVG will probably go with

    ------ De Gea ----------
    Young--Smalling--Blind/Jones--JB
    Fellaini----------- Bastian
    --Martial--Mata---Memphis
    -------Rooney--------

Swansea have beat us 4 times since 2014 all 2-1. They will be looking forward to this game despite own form. I dont think we will lose however I dont think Swansea will either. 1-1 or 0-0
