Good win but have to remember it's against a managerless Swansea fighting for relegation.

Positive signs at least.

Good win, lucky at the end. But let me know if I'm wrong - we were not convincing at all. Hope LVG doesn't go all effing arrogant on us again.

Decent performance, would have been much more comfortable if we took our chances but fair enough we didn't. Would have been more comfortable again if we didn't have to play so many midfielders in defence. Not LVGs fault that we are so unlucky with injuries but know that he knows we have 10 injury prone defenders he needs to react with transfers. McNair was the whole reason we were under pressure at the end, no instinct.

Important win. Could have went either way though.

It's difficult to see us getting top 4 still. Play this match 10 times and we would have lost of drew half of them. It was so close.

Quite an important win. Although there was not much difference in our playing style but a win might be the confidence booster the players needed. Plus a goal for Rooney might help his confidence too. Big FA cup game coming up now.

I think we have quite a few players who are not up to the standard. Good win, but lucky. We play with so much fear. MotM was Young which is an exclamation for how average we are.

Well we desperately needed a win and managed to get one just about. Hopefully it restores a little bit of confidence at least. The first half was incredibly boring but the second half was decent from an entertainment standpoint.

Needed a win by any means necessary. Wasn't pretty but at least there were some positives, which hasn't been the case at all recently.

We actually won! There were no signs that we would get the three points at half time. Glad the lads found something during the break. Young actually looked a winger again, until the injury, and thank God for Martial. Brilliant finish from Rooney for the winner, did not know if he still had it in him. Hopefully this win will give the players a shot of confidence and they will play more adventurously now. Although Basti could do with toning down the useless back heels, especially as half of them miss their man.

I wouldn't mind that performance it would be one of the "few odd ones" of the season. But that has now been the case for the most if the season for us so I'm not that excited.

Positives - strikers scored. De God doing his thing again. A bit of luck finally on our side on the dying seconds. And - it's a win.

An ok performance if you really want to squeeze it. Apart Martial and Young the rest were bang average.

"Where were you that day?" moment really. Win + Rooney goal.

Good - Young and Martial
Better - Rooney, Herrera and Mata
OK - De Gea and Smalling
Poor - Blind, Schweinsteiger, Darmian and Schneiderlin

First half awful but safe enough. Second half was a much better watch but we looked dodgy as hell at the back.

Would still prefer to watch the second half all day long, every day.

We actually played some football. Very poor first half but very pleased that Rooney and Martial showed something together today.

Returning to winning ways is not easy when you are in a slump. Hopefully we build on this and Rooney has one of his much needed purple patches.

Much better tempo in the second half. Definite improvement and Ashley Young, Martial were amazing. Time to drop mata and play Young on the wing.

We looked way to open for counters. Still, a more direct approach in passing got us our goals. We'd need defensive reinforcements and attackers with pace to play like this against top teams in the league. It was a good win for us but let's not forget this was against a team struggling to stay in the league

Still showed our lack of quality in the final third. If we had better players we might have scored 3 or 4.

Bit scary at the end (fecking Fabianski ) but we got the job done. Heres to another 6 months of LVG football!

Good win but have to remember it's against a managerless Swansea fighting for relegation.

Positive signs at least.
Since Monk was sacked Swansea have lost to City, drawn with West Ham, beat West Brom and drawn with Palace.

West Ham and Palace are sixth and seventh right now with Palace having a game in hand.

This Swansea match was never going to be easy as Man City found out at home in the first match after Monk had been sacked when they won it with a 90th minute deflected injury time goal.

The facts are the facts, there is no need to make it out as if it were an easy game, this Swansea team has had a recent lift and have been hard to break down, not just City struggled, their last three games have been clean sheets so for a team so poor in the final third and devoid of confidence we actually did well not just to go ahead but get the winner after they equalised.
