To be fair with the current injuries the team is awful.

The cowardliness of our team is saddest part. So many times a player will have the chance to pass between the lines but chicken out of it and go backwards or square. Prepare all you like on the training pitch, if your players either can't or won't take risks it's pointless. Shocking lack of balls in this squad.
Yeah, if only Ole had the power to pick who plays!

We play with no tempo whatsoever, it’s pathetic to watch this. I do question what I’m doing with my life wasting 90 minutes every week watching this filth.

We could really do with someone who knows how to play the number 9 position at our club.

Ashley Young produces his best corner in about 5 years and Maguire fecks it up.

    Jesus wept.

It’s hard to watch us play and it’s been like this for years. Keep tuning in hoping for miracles and it never happens.

    Utter tripe.
Is it bad that I wanted Young to be injured after that tackle, just so he could be taken off?
Also, the sooner Ole realises that Rashford is terrible through the middle, the better.

Do you think Ashley Young realises that opposition teams deliberately let him have the ball as much as possible?
He has high self confident but low in self awareness.

McTomminay is poor, same goes for Fred. Mata is a waste of space, Perreira anonymous. Our midfield is so tragic that I can't remember the last time I'd seen James or Rashford, especially the latter touch the ball.

I agree. No, obviously not like Fred. I defy anyone to really define Pogba's best position mind, and he's an inconsistent player who can't truly be relied on.
He worked well at Juventus.. however he actually had footballers around him and wasn't expected to do EVERYTHING alone. His job was simply to create.

James was playing well and won a few free kicks so they can do one.

Dreadful. What the feck do we do in training? There’s no evidence of a move, a set play or any training ground routine. Slow, laboured, shaky, sideways shite. Some of our players first touch is horrendous.

Tuanzebe has done ok and Young’s corner was the only positive.

That is where he should play. Not saying that he will be world class, or even do a lot, but that, to me, is his best position, and is a better option to Mata at the moment.
Agreed. Greenwood up top, rash left, James right, him in the hole and Mata benched

Are we too depleted injury wise to play with two up top?

Generally been second best that whole half, with the exception maybe the last five minutes. Maguire should have put us in front though.

I just can't see where we are going to score a goal from. Our attacking play is just so poor and disjointed. Its like we are relying on individual brilliance to score, but have forgotten that we don't have a Zlatan or Ronaldo type that can do that.

Mata is so shit, keeps drifting in wide positions as he has no strength, speed or creativity left in him. Most of his passes are backwards. We have a gaping hole in the middle, and the wide areas are crowded. Get him off FFS.

The amount of fear we play with. Unbelievable.

We all know how scared of the ball Young, Smalling and Matic are. But it's infecting new signings and the young players as well. Dalot looks absolutely terrified. Fred is shitting himself whenever he even catches sight of the ball. McTominay is bricking it. Rashford actively runs away from the ball and refuses to go anywhere near the box.

Anyone have an idea of when Martial and Pogba are expected back? Their injuries are getting a bit ridiculous (Martial was supposed to be back about 3 weeks ago!)

Yes, this was the phrasing I was after. Ironically, he did put in an excellent cross which a poacher would have put away.

I like Tuanzebe / Maguire combo. They are both assured in air and decent with the feet.

We look marginally better than Newcastle, but they’re likely to be in a relegation battle. That say’s it all.

I know we’re missing several key players in our line up, but the general style of play is sluggish, slow, sideways and no real attempt to get in behind them.

I’m sorry but the tactics aren’t good enough, the coaching doesn’t seem good enough, and Ole seems to think he’s doing a good job. It proves he isn’t good enough at this level. Top quality managers wouldn’t be happy with this level of performance every week. Regardless of team selection, the standard isn’t good enough and it hasn’t been all season.
