Other than the penalty goal, it’s been a brutal watch. So predictable, slow, boring and clumsy.

Of course, will gladly take the win but we’ve got some major problems.

Safe to say our squad depth is atrocious. If we don't buy in January we really are in a fight for bottom half finish.

Good job Martial scored that pen as he has been very poor. Lingard having a good game was unlucky hitting the post with a clever shot, showinggood touches movement and working hard..
 ok Jesse get off your phone and listen to the coach in there

Pavlović is the most stereotypical Serbian that I have ever seen.

We should buy him. He's only 18 as well.

? for a player with 2 senior appearances he’s not looked behind them at all. One of the best on the pitch so far.

fed up of this pointless negativity in EVERYTHING
Absolutely agree, everything is doom and gloom on here!

Delighted to see some young lads getting a game and even happier to see Williams win the pen, just shows what a bit of positivity and fearlessness can do!!

Good counter attack to win that penalty. Both teams hit the post. McTominay scored have scored his free header chance. I don't think United need a back 5 v an average side like this and still not creating enough chancs but the positive is United are ahead and for once might hold onto the lead.

Needing one and getting one are two different things.
    That's true:lol:

    Praying for another one then.

I swear we need a coach to organise our attacking play.

We just look so basic in that regard (sigh).

    Just hope we win.

Happy with the performance of the two youngsters - Williams and Garner. Both had a couple of bad moments but the potential is there.
I can see Garner developing in a deep playmaker. Still works in progress though

Didn't watch the first half but since our goal was a pen, I don't think I missed much anyway.
You missed nothing at all. Just a showing of how bad our squad is, and if Ole thinks all these young players are the answer right now he is deluded.

Grim viewing but at least we're winning.
Need to show a bit of quality in the second half... If we have any

Also don’t blame the ref for blowing for HT in the 44th minute. I’d have blown much sooner if I was him!

I get that, still, he struggled with the basics. When on form his technique is awesome and his first touch very good. Not seen much of that in this game. Great penalty though! He should be in front of Pogba on penalty duty.
I agree, he's not had any of his typical energy on the ball which is disappointing. But, bearing in mind he's been out 7 weeks with a nasty groin injury, i think he's probably just easing himself back in.

Relieved we got the penalty. Hopefully we will have more opportunities to counter in the 2nd now.

Not sure why both Lingard and Mata are on, to be honest. With Martial understandably rusty, we could do with Greenwood or Rashford alongside him to provide more goal threat and run in behind. Mata and Lingard are pretty much playing like two no10s behind Martial.

Also, one thing I don't like about this formation is Maguire is the deepest defender (understandable as he's the best, especially in the air) but it means we're often using Jones as the most advanced CB, carrying the ball forward, which is not good.

Sorry Garner has been awful. Sloppy passing and not really done anything.

I sometimes wonder if our younger players are just better than the seniors due to the fact they aren't coached by the senior management team.

Crap 1st half overall. How many touches have our front.....3? had? How many times have our players played an awful ball or fallen over right before they try to make a pass into the box.

Genuinely concerned that the players are not taking it seriously. They seem to be in warm up mode.
Apart from the back 3 none of the players infront of them are showing any initiative nor clever movement.

Seeing Garner,Mata and Martial just lazily walk around the pitch in the last 10 minutes says it all. Need a rocket up their butts.

It s a pity Tuanzebe is injured. He would have been perfect instead of Jones

    The Europa to a tee.
Silly kick off time on a silly day of the week. Random obscure team. Loads of rotation.
Obligatory lack of any sort of rhythm.

Let's really hope we can break both our away duck, and actually score 2 goals for the first time since the first day of the season is it?!

Was a bit of a punishing match to watch. Deserved lead but not much going on. I can’t see them scoring against us now we have the lead to protect.

As long as we win and finish without any injuries, I’m far more interested to see the young lads get a run than worry too much about the performance.

Lots of histrionics on here as per usual, it’s a meaningless fixture!!

Jones doesn't know what to do when he's with the ball.
It's a surprise that Garner used as alone DM, not the way how Fred and Mc Tommy plays. The position Mc Tommy plays is where Pogba going to play when he is back.
Both Lingard and Mata still prefer buildup from the left. They are not supporting enough for the right. That's maybe the instructions.

    Bollocking about fluently.
Highlights so far: Jones still being as Jones as a Jones can possibly be - he's always a Jones to behold. Lingard hitting the post and then the post stepping up once more saving us from humiliation this time around. Williams run leading up to the penalty was a breath of fresh air and it was nice to see someone able to convert one of these in cool fashion even. My absolute favorite though was the referee feeling as bored as everyone else not even bothering to wait the full 45 minutes before blowing his whistle. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

Oh yeah and Lingard getting punched in the dick - that's always a bonus
