Should Ole drop Pogba from the squad? Rewarding players who openly say they don't want to stay and won't sign contract is something I feel Ole won't do.
I think he should. Sends a horrible message to start him and I would think very differently of Ole if he does start him.

How come we are still above PSG on the official group table? I thought the rule is about H2h and away goals. They scored 3 away goals against us and we only scored 2.

Because it’s a 3 way tie on points. So we can top the group in theory if both games are a draw.

Expecting us to get the result. We usually perform in situations like this.

Horrible stink hanging over this game because of Pogba now, that timing is truly unacceptable. Just adds pressure to the team in an already pressurised environment.

We should adopt the Sancho approach - set a price and then refuse any negotiation unless the price is met. Meanwhile he can train alone.

This will be the worst thing about losing tonight. I'd rather just bomb out of Europe completely.

But, we are going through so no worries

I really hope we go out there for a win and don't play for a draw as I fear it being 0-0 late int the game and us crumbling.

Possibly a bit of a gamble but I think we should play a diamond and go with:

    GK
    AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles
    McT
    VdB, Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwood, Rashford
I'm not sure about going with a back 3 tonight and ideally I wouldn't want Matic or Mata to start.

    DDG
    AWB Tuanzabe Maguire Lindelof Telles
    McT Matic
    Bruno
    Cavani Greenwood/Rashford

Rashford if 100% fit and Greenwood if not. Bringing Rashford on late would be a massive ace to play

De Gea will be back I feel, and if Tuanzebe comes in to a back three, then I think Matic might well play, with VDB and Bruno in front, and Rashford and Greenwood up front, if we play a back four, then I think McTominay will play instead of Matic, VDB and Pogba central, and Bruno further forward.

I'll be surprised if Pogba starts now... I kind of expect him to not even get on the pitch at all. Sadly, that leaves us with very little attacking options from the bench if it goes tits.

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Telles
    Matic
    McTominay van de Beek
    Fernandes
    Greenwood Rashford

Probably need to win this game with that starting XI and make more defensive changes. For the first time in a little while, I won't fancy us to come back if we're losing and looking ragged, at least not to win. At least a draw will do and I hope we can get it! I've gone for 2-2, I think it'll be a very nervy night all round. I even expect PSG to go behind at some stage to throw another spanner in the works.

2-2, Bruno & Greenwood to light it up.

We're in real trouble here imo. We've looked poor every time Matic has been on the pitch this season, and coupling that with no Fred, a reasonably out of form McTominay and hoping VDB can play deeper than he's used to...might work against weaker teams but this is a top, well coached unit.

If we set up like we all know we will - to sit back and play on the counter - that midfield will not provide enough protection and certainly won't enable fluid attacking. Their greatest strength is ideally lined up against our greatest weakness.

We will generate one or two chances on the counter, will desperately need Rashford to not fluff them.

Tonight is as much about avoiding the Europa League as it is qualifying for the knockout stages of the CL.

    Nervous much.

Pogba has to be dropped from the squad. I don't care if he scored a good goal (for once) the other day or if we have no replacement for him outside of a youth player or even none at all.

Are knock out stages 2 games this season, or sticking with one game as per last season after the restart?

If it's 2 and that includes potential far-flung travels, then the Europa is a disaster on our season.

I'd rather make him sit on the bench and never play him.

Just shows how much of a pain in the arse Pogba & Raiola are that the other thread has 20+ pages and this one only 7... you just know the pre/post match stuff will be dedicated to these clowns that don't deserve to be even remotely associated to our great club.

Really hoping for a good game and performance from United tonight. It will be great for our season if we can get something but if we bow out for me it has been a par group stage. Didn't expect us to qualify so can't criticise too much if we don't... won't be happy about the mickey mouse cup but at least we'll have some European competition. I'll be ecstatic if we can make it through and we've got a good chance, I believe in the team and the management!

2-2 draw for me. It’s going to be a tough watch. They had us under the cosh in the first half at OT. I can see it being more of the same tonight. Please don’t start martial unless he’s been showing something totally different in training. He’s well out of sorts

Really hoping we can get at least the point we need today to get through. That would give us a great lift for the league and allow some of our out of form players (Martial especially) to get firing for when it picks up again.

He hasn't travelled with the squad in Germany and neither has Cavani due to some minor injuries.

This could actually work, since we're probably gonna let them have the ball and try to hit them on the counter.

I'm not sure Ole will be as adventurous.

I think he's gonna go for a 352 with Shaw back.

    McTominay Matic
    Fernandes

VDB and Mata in if we're losing.

It is a big, high pressure game but we are not playing prime Barca here. RBL play the type of football we thrive against so unless Nagelsmann has some crazy plan up his sleeve, we can literally go there and expect space in behind their defence.

My only fear is Ole goes and we setup to just contain them and play for a 0-0, feel like we aren't disciplined enough to do 90mins off bus parking and we don't really need to.

Pogba hasn't said anything, his agent has. That shouldn't impact whether he starts this game or not.
Do you honestly think Raiola has gone rogue and just blurted out that one of his biggest and most marketable clients wants to leave United without consulting him?

Not for me, they’re a pair of cnuts and the timing is shocking, I hope I never see him in a United shirt again, I really hope Ole and the club make a stand this time because if they don’t it just tells every other player they can come to United and dictate, in a very public manner, their terms.

It's more important that we win the game rather than trying to prove a point. With Fred suspended and assuming Pogba's head isn't all over the place, I think he should start today.
