One of the centerbacks could man-mark Dele Alli, no? Maybe Jones or Blind.

I wish we would just play some youngsters in positions that are needed. Do we seriously not have a CM youngster that can play next to Carrick?

Really tricky one. I hate seeing us just letting this slide because we want to grab the CL spot with an europa league victory. Just imagine our faces if we don't succeed on that day, and not to mention the pressure.
It'll be a blessing so our faces will be joyous and thanking Ajax for doing us a favour.

Hope to see Rooney with a lot of interchanging with Martial on the left and Blind as well.

Some naysayers will definitely appreciate the energy and industry that Herrera brings to the side with the state of our midfield.

It's going to be painful watching that team I reckon.

Mourinho knows that Rooney is finished. I guess he's just ramming the point home to the last few people left in the world who still think he deserves to start every game for us.

What little importance this match had is completely gone now, with that Liverpool win. Meh.

Didn't Jose say he would never play Rooney as an #8 or #6, always a #10 or #9.
He also said he loves specialists, not jacks of all trades, yet Young kept playing WB/RB/LB, Darmian LB/RB/WB, Mata LW/#10/even WB, Pogba DMF/CMF/#10, Rojo LB, Lingard RW/LW/#10/SS, Fellaini DMF/CMF/AMF/#10/CF/SS, Mikhi RW/LW/LB/WB/#10, Rooney LW/RW/CMF/#10.

Poor team on papar + low expectations from the fans + no pressure = guaranteed win.

Honestly can see us getting a result today.

feck me what a shit line up.

Playing Bailly is obvious given his red. But why the feck are we also playing Jones, Smalling AND Blind?

Rest Valencia who basically never gets injured but play all of our centrebacks at the one fecking time?

It's the United way man. Whoever the feck we hire as a manager ends up fecking our most creative players about all over the pitch.

I know the result today is irrelevant at this point, but do not want to get embarrassed...

We can probably pinpoint when Jose started to give up on making top 4 when Rooney started making the lineup again.

Probably trying to get Jones and Smalling up to match fitness in a meaningless game,. It doesn't really matter

Blind is the issue, the others need game time.

Jones and Smalling massively lacking match fitness. Judging by their performances against Arsenal, they need to get up to speed sharpish.

It will be something akin to this I would imagine:

Happy to see Tuanzebe play, but dismayed that Rooney starts again. Offered absolutely nothing against Arsenal. Does the U23's not have any strikers?
