Decent result given the long break and lack of stamina. But we still don't have a clue how to break down packed defences.
Didn´t notice much lack of stamina, to be honest, and the United players are also reported to be in very good shape. I thought Tottenham looked tired long before we did.

    You're utterly delusional then.

You scored one goal, which was a keeper error, then De Gea made a good save soon after.

You did feck all after that, stuck 11 men behind the ball. Not a chance you deserved to win.
Ok mate. We can agree to disagree. No way you deserve to win that, i end the game disappointed we didn't win.

Yeah they weren't particularly bad today, but they didn't really create much today even in the spell when they were on top. Not to say we were good, but watching that performance I think we will get better as a team as the season goes on, not convinced Spurs showed that much.
Agreed with that take; United were definitely the better side IMO. That said, I feel as if it's nigh impossible to make predictions given the uncertainty over player fitness, squad rotations, etc - if I were to put money on it I'd wager United will do better for the rest of the season but god only knows how it'll turn out. One small wrinkle is that in game management & tactical flexibility may be of outsized importance given the increase in fatigue & substitution opportunities - I do question whether Ole is up to snuff as I do think he waited far too long to make changes today.

I don't think we will get top 4 under Ole. We are too defensive and cautious. Bailly on in the end to secure a point.
We need to really go for it when other teams defend.
Pogba should have been on earlier too.
Need 3 points to catch Chelsea. Don't see us doing it.
Don't think Bailly came on to secure a point, I think it was just a case that McTominay was playing centre back and he isn't a centre back. Don't forget you can have five subs now. Too early to say if we'll catch Chelsea - they're in the same boat, haven't played since March.

Not a bad result given the 1st half performance, dominated the 2nd half, the concerns, another feck up from ddg, and a lack of a focal point up front, no center forward, when Rashford and Martial were getting the ball out wide they were not capable of creating something for themselves and there was nothing to aim at in the box, a piece of Pogba skill got us a pen that was it basically in attack

You did absolutely nothing... It was one of those game where Mourinho almost won a football match without playing football.

Spurs fans thinking they deserved to win, did absolutely nothing all game except kick lumps out of our players  . I reckon there are some really positive signs still in that performance, Greenwood, Pogba, and Matic all made a difference, so much so that I think they all deserve to start the next match.

Disappointed in balaks in this thread, he's usually quite a level headed poster but does appear to be trolling here. Look I get it we all have our personal bias but the reality is Utd dominated 3/4 of that football match and would have been far more deserving of the three points. That's also an opinion shared by all my mates who can't stand Utd so that fully confirms it in my mind.

    Not a bad result really.
Playing a virtual full strength Spurs side at home and we come away with a draw and looking like the better team is something I would not have expected at the start of the season.
I have to feel for the Spurs fans that they now park the bus at home with Jose at the helm and I think he is going to get another payout midway through next season.

Thanks mate, you got lucky to get a point
More possession, more shots and more shots on target. Yep pure luck. Unlike the side who scored due to a keeper error.

Spurs are not a very good side. Will finish outside the top 5 and next season will have to sell their best players to keep afloat. Even better, you have one of the most boring managers in the game.

Yawn you only managed a point by getting a soft penalty. I wouldn't be saying anything if i were you.

I'm disappointed with our team. We underperformed big time, and so many of our players were so anonymous like Bissaka, Fred, McTominay, Rashford, Martial. Then we still carry the likes of Lindelof, Shaw and at times James. These players would walk into that terrible Spurs side honestly and I'm quite embarrassed we didn't win even if they did play ultra defensive, were at home and had most of their players performing to the best of their ability, all things considered. It is a decent point, but Spurs is terrible and we deserved to win even with poor starting form.

That's fine. I think the ref failed to give Spurs one single yellow card in that game too, which is pretty weird even you have to admit? Normally a terrible ref like that would keep that in mind and give a soft penalty in the end of the game to even it out, but luckily for Spurs, VAR corrected it. Spurs looked good on the counter, and well organised but theres not really anything you could do with that squad and those tactics if we didn't have like 8 players out of form, including our keeper. Normally Lloris doesn't save the types of chances we had, while De Gea usually saves the sort of shot your goal was. Has to be hard to disagree with that statement really.

If our team was in amazing form you might have an argument there but none of our players are in any sort of form either for obvious reasons. Look at the state of Kane tonight as an example, so off the pace.

@balaks Tbh mate, it really looks like you taking the piss here.
I can understand any fan being disappointed with their team not winning. But I hope you not disappointed you didn't win because you feel you deserved to win?
If anything, just as much as I feel disappointed to draw, I have to admit the draw is the most fair result based on how the game played out.

You guys really didn't offer any real threat, and even as you said, Kane was off tonight in a big way even. And your solitary goal was from our mistakes.
Our goal, as soft as it was, was deserving of the more dominate display and actually trying to score a goal, which, let's be honest, was the last thing on Jose's mind well before we scored the equalizer, so blame should be on Jose for not trying to get the second goal. Even if that resulted in an equalizer, at least you offering something other than nothing. But again, benefit of the doubt, that's a tactic but at the end of the day, it didn't work out unless he was playing for the draw.

It's like our last game against you guys, where you dominated most things, and really deserved something from the game even more than we did tonight, and we could easily say any Spurs fans would have been utterly disappointed having dominated us yet still come away with the loss.
But this is not the case in the match, this time, while we clearly didn't deserve to win, neither did you guys, so a draw is the most reasonable result.
So again, disappoint as a fan, but have to see the result as fair, imho.

You didn't deserve to win the game and i was disappointed not to win because we had the lead and looked fairly comfortable for most of the match. Yes you guys had more of the ball and yes you did a lot more attacking but of course you would because you were chasing the game. A draw is probably a fair result i guess but i still feel a but disappointed not to hang on to the win especially since i thought the penalty was quite soft.

Again, as I said, I don't think we deserved to win either.
I was referring to the source of disappointment. All fans feel disappointed when their team doesn't win, but the level of that depends on how the match goes.
On the face of it, yeah, I can see holding on to a 1-0 lead till the 80th minute can feel hard done by, but at no point in the game did you do anything worthy of that 1-0 lead other than shoot that shot.
But in saying that, you got the goal fair and square and I can't argue about that, as you could argue about the soft pen.
What I can say, is just like when Jose did when he managed us, it was a dreadful experience so many times to see him try hang onto a 1-0 lead and shut up shop. I can understand shutting shop around 75mins or so if you've had the lead as early as you did, but from minute 1, to the goal, to the end of the whistle, the entire gameplan was to park the bus and if you nicked a goal, park 2. So you can hardly be disappointed when that backfires and allow us to try get the equalizer for what was 70mins of Manchester United, other than 1 or 2 times De Gea was called in to action.

So did you deserve to lose, no, cause you got your goal far and square. Did you deserve to win? For shutting shop all game instead of trying to seal the win, definitely not.

So my point again is mainly on the disappointed part.
Both sets of fans are disappointed, but none of us deserve to be disappointed because our sides done enough to win, we didn't.
Disappointed because we couldn't hang on to the lead, and disappointed because we couldn't make our dominance count for more than a draw.
So as you say, fair result.

Also, I don't think you guys were fairly comfortable at all once Pogba came on at least, and could sense at some point we could nick an equalizer but couldnt see us scoring 2 goals.

We were better team! Great chances, some great link up play with offense in mind. I like what I see with Fernandes. Very, very promising player and I dare to say the best signing we have had since maybe Vidic/Evra?

Perfect encapsulation of why the league shouldn't have bothered to start up again. Both teams looked way off the pace, one goal was a keeper error rand the other was a rank dive. Then the ref tried to feck it up at the end with a stupid decision.

I agree, draw is a fair result on the balance of the game, this Spurs supporter, is next level bias. We had far more possession, just did not do enough with it, pretty close between both teams for shots and shots on target.

    The pen wasn't a dive.
Was really soft tbh, sure there was contact, and by the letter of the law if you go down it's a penalty. Never enough force in that to knock Pogba over though. But we see this every season so suck it up Spurs fans.

Fair result in the end. To be expected all things considered. Pretty confident with our run in of games. Just hope City and Pool show up v Chelsea.
Yeah motivation for those two is a big worry and could ultimately cost us.

My feeling is that neither will be bothered about the Chelsea games especially Liverpool who will be on the beach by then.

Pool are going for record points tally and haven't lost a league game at home in ages , motivation won't be issue for them at all.
City game could be a problem .

Expected that to be honest. Wasn't expecting us to have resorted back to being static when our Midfield are facing the oppositions goal though. A couple of occasions, Bruno had the ball and proceeded to atta k. Looked up and Martial and James looked like they were waiting for the starting pistol. Done that earlier in the season and we all moaned how dull our games were becoming. The last 15 minutes or so, when we started getting more attack minded, the game became more enjoyable.

I have liked James but I think he is a Championship player at best. I honestly think I prefer Dalot at Right Mid/Wing until we get one of our targets.

Over all I am thrilled with the result. It could have gone really bad with the unchosen one getting a master class result on the counter punch. He didn't. We were the better and fitter side by a mile. The lack of sharpness is the reason we did not win.
The positives that came out of the game were numerous. I honestly think this side will run riot for the rest of the season.

Good news to come out of the game is that Pogba looks as if he's up for it and will make a difference.
Agreed. He did. And I am optimistic about the reminder of the season. That is until something happens and his head drops.
Most important thing is that he understands that he has to fight for his place.

Agree with all of that. That's always been my reservation about Pogba. Until the lockdown in March, my guess would have been he was heading out of the club. Whether the new post-Covid situation or our improving form following Fernandes's arrival has changed that, Ole's got to treat him like any other player and make him justify his selection - and clamp down on any sign he becomes a disruptive influence. But if he carries on the way he played last night, all good.
